Always enjoy these videos. I own both the z8 and the z63, and honestly really enjoy shooting on both of them. I do wish Nikon would try and address the underexposure flicker/noise performance. I understand how it needs to be shot and ETTR and all that, but because the view assist adds exposure and isn't super accurate, trying to use the z63 with its LCD, its kind of a terrible experience. Often I find myself just viewing the log without view assist.

Same here. I trained myself to judge exposure based on N-Log image with the waveform monitor enabled.

The under exposure test is shocking. Wouldn’t have guessed there would be such a huge difference between the two. What’s your professional take on the issues with the Z6III in that regard? Do you think that’s something that can be fixed via firmware, or a tragic oversight with this partially stacked sensor technology?

Yes, it is consistent with other cameras that we tested. It's not terrible but worse than other cameras on the market today.
To mitigate the issue, it's best to keep the exposure at base or slightly overexposed even in low-light conditions. Higher ISO values and overexposing the sensor are better than lower ISOs and underexposing. Noise reduction can also help when dealing with undeexposure

Cant decide if i wanna upgrade my z6 to this or not... The underexposed values seems like it might be an issue.

It's not an issue in most scenarios. You just need to be careful when exposing but it's true for all modern cameras.
