Feel free to comment your opinion always being respectful and not insulting or offending anyone. This is a channel where we all must learn from everyone! :)
One piece defiantly missing from this is how the hysteria from a single person can spread to make the rest of the passengers act aggressively, possibly even violently, against either the FA or the guy with the dog. Returning was probably the best call for everyone's safety.
🧑 I'm sorry that I was unable to control my 🐕🦺
6:09 We got an unruly passenger and now *another passenger wants to beat him up* .... That just cracked me up hard =))
I suspected that occurred when the other passenger realized they were returning to Boston, I'd want to smack him around a little bit too at that point lol
@@ShadyS-2012 I wouldn't because I don't wanna get involved with security or police.
Not a divert, now we have a party! My money is on the guy who wants to beat him up!
Let the fight begin.
It may sound funny, but it's truly a serious situation that could escalate into pandemonium. FAA rules are super strict and punishment is harsh when the pilot has to get involved. The disruption and safety welfare of the other passengers, the crew, and equipment is a serious crime. The cost of all of that was also most likely monumental. Thank goodness is was on a quiet time frame and with little air traffic.
Tower: "How was New York?" ... No response. "That bad huh?"
To soon!
@@flymatilda12 Now it's actually true again..
I'm surprised that Tower thought it was intelligent or even funny to make such a non sterile remark. OTOH the ac was not exactly falling out of the sky. The pilot could have cited him for that wisecrack.
You, Sir have created a very unusual channel that is of great educational value, and I very much appreciate the dedication you have applied to this series. Your maps/graphics and subtitles have allowed me to understand complex aeronautical situations. The common superficial "news grabs" as reported in mainstream media cannot compete!
+dav snow Wooow... it's awesome to read comments like this. I spend so much time working and editing the videos but it is all worth if you guys enjoy and learn something out of them. Keep on, share the video and hope you learn lot more!! :D
+VASAviation -
Your graphics especially, and the transcription, really does add to the audio, and you do tend to find some very interesting events. Keep up the good work. I'm either listening to your videos, or to KPSP/SoCal approach on LiveATC.net.
+dav snow perfectly said, I agree 100%
Agree
XBradTC CraZy291 SupaEMT134 Wow guys, thanks a lot! This is all for you so you can learn something and also enjoy. I spend many hours editing but it is all worth with your comments!
Click a very big like, that's my payment! :D
Years ago, a guy with a cast on his foot refused to make room in the aisle for the flight attendants to maneuver the refreshment cart. The FA bumped the guy's foot accidentally, and he went nuts! Jumped up and grabbed the FA (female) by her jacket lapels and started berating her as he shook her. The flight crew finally got the guy seated and secured, and when we arrived in Charleston, he was greeted by three very large men in shiny shoes, who escorted him off the airplane.
Shiny shoes and those those tool belt items we used to call "Sparky!"
50' like bc of "SHINY SHOES!!" xD
Rumor has it you can still hear his screams as they drug him off to the blacksite.
Of course, touching the flight attendant is a lot more serious than verbal abuse.
Did our boy really think he was going to get away with that?
“I’m turning this around” alright dad
I'm really enjoying this channel. 👍 It's interesting to be in on the drama without the stress of being IN the drama!
My husband was a Delta capt for 30 yrs. Had to turn plane around twice for unruly passengers. One lot was a well known UK rock group who went berserk in first class throwing things, pushing flight attendents etc. Not sure if they were arrested for any length of time. This was before 911.
name of the rock group maybe?
Greater London Geology Club.
I bet it was the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Unruly fiddlers the whole bunch.
@@Athaeus Cello players, man. They're the wild ones.
I think Boston ATC handled this quite well. The pilot was also very polite, understanding this is taking the time of ATC. Well controlled situation all around.
I have to say, I watched a lot of ATC videos but this channel is really great. there's everything, beacons, patterns, ground, approach, all conversations.....wow. :) subscribed. btw, I somehow felt bad for the pilot. he absolutely made the right calls, but you can almost hear how embarrassed he was about this whole situation (saying, like, a million thanks to ultra chill boston atc).
Thanks a lot from my side!!! I'm so glad you like it and enjoy! :)
I think you've done a great job too, how do you figure out how fast to make the plane move in the animation? is it just trial and error while playing the aduio?
TacticalBBQSauce
Actually, yes. More or less, playing moving it throughout and make everything fix and synchronized. Quite difficult sometimes.
VASAviation -
Wow that's a lot of effort, i'll make sure to watch the planes from now on haha. Thanks for the reply
can you cross-reference timestamp from recording and flightradar24 for AC positions?
To state the obvious they take this kind of thing very seriously. I was once in (widebody) first class while we were taxiing for takeoff and the flight attendant discovered a woman near me had two small dachshunds in her bag. Offers were made to put them in a box below or even in the upstairs galley - the FO even came out to talk to her - but she said “I can’t leave my babies!. We turned around and went back to the gate - where a group of very FBI looking guys escorted her off and also searched the area for any devices she might have left behind.
Devices? What does that have to do with it?
Guess should have used the word “bombs” but thought it was obvious.
@@johnwatson3948 yeah but do they really search for “devices” (don’t want to get censored by RUclips) just because an old woman carries a dog on the flight in her purse? That just seems non sequitor to me. I guess they have to keep the Feds busy. The grunts could use the practice.
It wasn’t an old woman she was maybe 30 or 40 - it wasn’t that she carried the dogs in her bag it was that she could have used this as an excuse to get off the plane for unknown reasons. They looked under her seat and in all nearby areas she may have had access to. Maybe as you say they should not have done this and just assumed all was well.
@@generalralph6291 Distraction, misdirection… team effort. One person makes a scene and creates the distraction focusing attention on themselves while the second or more individuals deploy devices. Possibly explosives, possibly gas generators… One person sneaks in some bleach, another person sneaks in some ammonia, now you have phosgene… Phosgene is extremely toxic by acute (short-term) inhalation exposure. It can kill you easily. Severe respiratory effects, including pulmonary edema, pulmonary emphysema, & death. Severe eye irritation & skin burns may result following eye or skin exposure, possibly resulting in blindness. Imagine the asthma attack from hell- but drowning in your own fluids. Imagine the pilots blinded. Doesn’t take much. If you survive, longer term; pneumonia, bronchitis, possibly sepsis.
Just a for instance, but not beyond the realm of possibility.
still waiting to hear how the weather in New York was
LMAO
Pilot ignored Boston Tower on final approach
legend has it*
Which demonstrated his own professionalism and the ATC's lack of the same.
I have never seen an ATC channel take the time to create the visuals. You are my official new go to channel.
And you are welcome to this "go to channel"! :)
It takes many hours, MANY, but it is worth for you guys! :)
I think a lot of time is required to make detailed videos like this so I'd like to say thanks for creating these interesting videos!
+Faikar Widjanarko SO MANY hours I spend doing these. Thank you very much for your words, my pleasure! :)
Your infographic videos need to be featured on aviation lectures.
'Another passenger wants to beat him up'......lol....... 469 , inbound with a full blown riot on board !! ;-)
🤣🤣🤣
One of the hazards of flying out of Logan is having a plane full of Bostonians.
I'm guessing either the other passenger just does not like entitled a-holes or more likely he was going to a wedding'/funeral/ bar mitzvah down south.. he has now likely missed it all on account of this idiot and he's fed up with the waste of time. Bear in mind if he refused to take the new flight which would have him in very late and very rung out, then the company would probably refuse him a refund as they were carrying him "with reasonable dispatch." That's from industry knowledge.
I gotta see how this rude dude was greeted at the gate.
They probably had Leo escort him to the on sight holding station, and he was probably put on the no fly list. He was probably released after some hours. I doubt he was actually arrested, or that the airline pressed charges, but don't be surprised if they passed him a bill later on for expenses incurred.
LEO = law enforcement official
He didn't cause the landing. Foul language does not necessitate landing.
Tyler Torrey No, but I imagine being irate and physically upset would warrant an emergency landing for the safety of the passengers.
Definitely met with a LEO at the gate. He would be detained for hours. Put on the no fly list by TSA. Eventually released. Probably a fine too but not sure on the fine thing
excellent job with the visuals and the video.
Thanks, my friend! :)
There is so much to learn listening to this audio clip while observing the maps! Cockpit communication, ATC communication, coordination with company, law enforcement, security, airport, and ATC while dealing with an unruly passenger. This is an astounding discovery. Everyone deserves kudos for handling this professionally. I should like to know what became of this passenger after removal from the aircraft. This was expensive to the company and they should not be forced to cover the cost of his/her behavior. Thank you for posting this and doing the transcription.
Hey Dave! Thanks for your comment. These 2 videos took a very long time to edit so I appreciate your words :)
Really turned out great
Not to mention the Captain's distraction away from flying the plane, dealing with all the issues! He did a fantastic job, I think btw.
"Boston tower, we are declaring an asshole. Jetblue 469..."
I don't know how you got the radio patch for their dispatch, but this is something we so very rarely get to hear. As others pointed out, there's so much in the way of communications that the pilots take care of besides their conversations with ATC. Nothing but love for this channel
It's an AIRINC frequency, just like the regular ATC frequencies. I often listen to the one for my area (129.450) and you can hear a lot of very interesting comms. Mainly sick passengers but sometimes you get the occasional unruly passenger. I heard one aircraft calling dispatch because of a passenger who deliberately peed all over the lavatory floor after telling the flight attendant he was going to because he was angry with them over something or other.
I just love this channel and all ATC recordings.
Thanks, my friend! :)
Thanks VASAviation, love this channel and watch often! I would love to know the outcome for the unruly passenger. And, I think the unruly passenger should watch these 2 videos to realize just what chaos, time and money they caused.
I hope they were fined and banned, at least for some little time.
And was this an actual service dog or a support penguin, etc.?? THAT is what would make me beat him up.
"Mental health professional" my ass.
That woman really pissed me off, because she exacerbated a situation that the crew had worked hard to induce peace. Claiming to be a "mental health professional" does not entitle oneself to make judgements about what course of action a pilot should take. Honestly, the pilot was quite smart in recognizing the preferred option as Fort Lauderdale, and I just feel bad for the rest of the crew and passengers who contained their annoyance and irritation while the one, complaining lady made the situation worse than it likely had to be...
+Pyruvate Personage: She may have been telling the truth about her job. The chances of an incompetent mental health professional being on a flight to Florida are quite good to be honest.
But on your overall point I completely agree.
The way the video is edited, it sounds as though the original passenger realized just what a stupid situation he almost (at that stage it was an "almost") caused over a stupid argument and was sorry about it. Furthermore, it sounds as though guy threatening to beat the initial guy up was as a result of the return to Boston. The change all being as a result of her intervention.
This is classic victim blaming. I could make a similar argument that she is a 100% accurate judge of somebody who is a loose cannon and was absolutely correct in her assessment. Lucky for everyone she was on board. None of us were there to know the truth, we're just speculating and that's unfair. What we know for certain is that *none* of this would have happened if the original passenger hadn't become unruly. Let's place the blame where it deserves to be.
What's your evidence?
Well said, John Bidwell.
Whoever is flying nowadays should leave their ego at home and not start ranting and raving like an ass when being asked by the crew to stop doing something, even more so when in charge of an animal.
The captain certainly didn't make this decision lightly.
Maybe you should give a talk at the next EAA Air Venture in Oshkosh this July. I think you would have an enthusiastic audience.
Poor dog. Hope he has a new human, now.☹️
Hope he was retrained but would a real Service Dog even jump on the seat to begin with? I don't think so.
One more danger could be that the service dog, or “service” dog, who knows, could maul someone because it would sense all the commotion toward its owner and would try to protect him
Great channel. Interesting how everyone communicates. Great job with the editing on all the videos. Check text at 6:30 though... "Should be 'A NON-EVENT' but thanks" FOR KEEPING TRACK".
Keep the vids coming!
Thanks!! :D
Great channel. I only wish I could see visual footage of the guy getting arrested.
Do you think they put the dog in handcuffs too? I mean, paw cuffs?

GREAT channel!! , as an old Naval Aviation dog it's fun to watch and listen to ACCURATE incident reports of aviation incidents. The major media are so ignorant it's embarrassing to watch. Keep up the great work. Subscribed & Liked!! 👍
Btw, wouldn't it be great if the JetBlue driver could simply descend to 5k ft (ALT/QNH.....sorry military pilot, never civilian), slow to 170 KIAS and shove this idiot out the door! His dog can stay. I would be so pissed if my flight returned due to some idiot like this.
Yes, they could’ve flown onto their destination, but the karma is that the idiot passenger doesn’t get to his destination, and will likely have trouble getting on another flight. Everyone else got there, and only a few hours late.
To inconvenience someone is the best type of karma.
Would have been better if they diverted to another airport, dropped off the jerk, and continued on to the destination.
"How was the weather in New York?" LOL. Would have been funnier had he said, "How was the weather in Ft. Lauderdale?"
Loved the graphics on this one. Ty for posting all these.
Finally! Thanks for the VID! Another great video :D
around 0:28 "reasonably straight like that"
at 0:33 "..and I'll see what I can do"
around 3:20 "she's calling the King's-X too"
at 6:30 "Should be a non-event but thanks.."
Thanks for posting these!
+Nick Scott Thanks, Nick! You may wanna read the description and send an email to contribute? It'd be so appreciated! :)
*That's it, if you can't behave, I'm turning this plane around!*
The flight crew should break out the booze and all passengers must hit the bong once or twice no exceptions. After 5 minutes Doritos and cookies handed out and everything chill af.
All that wasted fuel and resources for one D-Bag!
This channel, addictive viewing.
This dog was probably a therapy dog, NOT a service dog.
Some dog owners lie and claim their therapy dog is a service dog.
Service dogs have very specific rights under the law. Therapy dogs have none.
You are amazing! Thanks to your Videos, I learned a lot in the last Days since I discovered your Channel. So thanks a lot for the good Work! Looking forward to your future Videos! :)
+Seb Jec Hey, my friend! Awesome to read this and glad I could help you! Share the videos with your aviation friends and stay tuned!! :D
Listening to these videos I have so much more appreciation for what pilots and air traffic control do! And appreciate YOU and the time and effort you put into these videos, syncing them with the flight patterns and putting up the captioning… btw I can understand the other passengers being pissed because of this dolt their flight and plans have been snafu’d but the guy apparently needed his dog for an obvious mental health reason(s) … just sucks he Fk’d up everyone else’s day and cost the airline money in the process… the inevitable domino effect
Thank you so much. ;:)
Boston Approach sounds like FSX ATC .
+PASSwordUSERname so is that good or bad?
CraZy291 It’s not bad or good.
Man, what a pain in the ass for nothing. As I understood it, the pax was pissed off by being asked to not let his service animal sit on the seat. GAAAH! Seriously, what is wrong with people nowadays?
It wasn't just letting his service dog sit in the seat. He also was not controlling the dog, either. Which in my experience, service dogs are much better trained, so, he may simply have brought his untrained pet on board, claiming the dog to be a service animal, which gives the dog extra rights. Now, you can't legally ask someone why they need a service dog, so you just have to trust that they aren't lying to you when they say, "This is my service dog."
My guess, he was not familiar with how to transport his "service" dog, and thus got upset when asked by airline staff to keep the dog sitting quietly on the floor, as service dogs /should/ be transported.
Sa'ruk Maktao I will confirm this. Service dogs are properly trained, but I'll also say this guy might be someone who *thought* he had a legit-qualified service dog, but didn't. There's a lot of companies out there that give out fake 'certificates' for regular pets (the agency that actually trains service dogs don't give out paperwork at all) or get the pet qualified as an 'emotional assistance animal', which is *not* the same as an actual service animal and doesn't have the same extended rights, and people end up thinking it's all legit cuz they don't know the differences, and confronting the human is tricky-you can't ask *why* they need a service animal, but if it's a fake service animal or is an ESA, the laws don't apply-but if you start trying to explain all this to the human and try to insinuate they might not have an actual service dog, they're gonna get even more irate than before. And all of that just fucks shit up more for people with legit service dogs.
It's just a shit situation all around.
B Sal, what a sad state of affairs. Now political correctness means you can't even verify someone's identity sometimes. I can easily see how lies about the function of a dog can go unchallenged.
Joe Sterling It's not political correctness, this has been going on long before PC culture became a thing, and often the animal owner is a victim of a scam themselves. It's shitty people/'companies' taking advantage of the uninformed and unaware.
Whether the animal owners are scamming or getting scammed, the end result is the same: A cowardly policy goes into place that makes fact finding impossible.
I hope the passenger wasn't allowed to fly again.
LAnonHubbard these folks get on the can not fly list
@@shellymb And that's pretty serious in a country as big as the US . This guy had a service dog.. he may have been blind, partly blind or deaf. He has now consigned himself to a life of misery as far as long distance transport is concerned.. what can he do now - blame the dog ? the dog should bite him.
What a very upsetting incident for all involved. I would hate to ask what kind of delay the lawful KFLL passingers suffered. As for our disabled angry person, I am sure the Federal courts did not laugh. What was your sentence in jail?
The guy may not have even been disabled. Most service dogs are very well trained. I have seen one be brought onto my local city transit buses a few times. The handler and the dog both go to a seat, handler sits down, dog lays down beside him, and the dog is perfectly quiet, and barely moves.
In part 1 of this incident, it's pointed out that the guy's "service dog" was not being controlled. And so, that makes me believe that the dog may not have been a trained service animal. He may have gotten a vest for the dog, claimed, "This is my service dog," and by law, wherever humans go, service dogs go. And so no one questions it.
It's also illegal to ask "Why do you need a service dog?" You can ask, though, "You are not legally required to answer, and it makes no difference, but just for my own curiosity, what service is your dog trained on?" There's a lot of things that dogs can do.
Now, keeping in mind of course, no matter what they say, you can't disallow them from taking their dog with them, and nor can you question if they really need their dog. In most cases though, the service is listed on their vest, but, it's just not appropriate for say, airline staff, to even ask.
And knowing all this, if you wanted to lie about it, and if found out possibly face criminal charges, you could put a service vest on your dog, say your untrained dog is a service animal, and no one will care. As long as your dog behaves well, and is quiet, no one will even know.
But in this case, with this passenger's dog being slightly less well behaved than is ideal, I suspect that's what he did. Dog + Vest + "This is my service dog" = Dog on plane for free. And when doing so, when confronted, he got upset, despite not knowing the rules surrounding service dogs, and, that's what this whole thing was about.
I'm pretty sure service dogs have identification so you CAN ask to see the animals service papers. otherwise they can refuse entry. but the only reason to ask is if the animal seems untrained
Why didn't they land at Philly or JFK? It looked like they were closer to there than Boston
He would have STILL been too heavy to land. So he would have had to STILL burn off fuel.
06'17": "So, yes! We could use some security at the gate"
Very professional pilot
I'm almost scared to ask how much that one passenger freaking out about his service animals seating caused in burned fuel alone ... Although the other passenger staying freaked out about somebody you was calmd down again was also at least a bit curious ...
When someone causes a scene refusing to comply with safety rules, it makes others present feel uneasy about what other rules they may refuse and the potential dangers they can cause.
In addition, the fact that he was irritated and screaming, even after he calmed down, there is the concern that someone may set him off again accidentally, and everyone would be trapped in a confined area with him, now unable to land to receive help for a extended time.
Subscribed! This channel is sweet!
I just don't understand what has happened to common courtesy. I guess I'm just part of a dying breed. I was brought up to be polite and respectful to others. I've actually had flight attendents tell me they were having a miserable day until I smiled at them and said hello. I am crippled, but don't have a service animal. I try my best not to be "needy," but if I need to use the facilities in flight I need help getting there and back again. Because I'm not on the call bell every two seconds, and because I'm not a whiner, the flight attendents enjoy taking their spare moments to come chat with me and amuse me. Also, when I fly, I don't dress like I just crawled out of a dumpster. It's a stupid cliche, but "you do catch more flies with honey than vinegar." Be nice! It's not the flight crew'sfault you're getting shoved in like cattle. You can thank the greedy airline CEO's for that. And not all airlines are created equally- some are better than others.
Everybody's so stinking selfish and rude these days.
It's quite obvious that the pilot is personally disgusted with that unruly passenger. He talked about various other passengers who are "upset" and "concerned". The whole "mental health expert" woman was given belief intentionally by the pilot. I don't know if he did the right thing or not but it's easy to say that emotions of the pilot were involved.
I feel bad for the dog.
This flight 469 had nothing to do with a service dog or service animal that was a different blue flight all together this was simply a unruly passenger that was calmed down but another female passenger couldn't deal with it
Wow, why hijack a plane when you can just drop f bombs.
Just think, without these unruly passengers the cost of our tickets maybe somewhat cheaper! Cost of gas etc.
unfortunately, this type of thing does happen and I give the crew kudos on this one❤
Great videos!!
Great graphics. Thanks.
I wonder if the one remaining passenger that was upset, the psychologist that said the other guy could snap, was the same one that wanted to beat him up later.
Wouldn't surprise me.
If she was a real mental health professional, she would have assisted and not keep making a fuss out of it.
I know her type. Typical Karen who must have everything her way.
I’m confused... one passenger gets upset and starts swearing at everyone, he then apologises and a random ‘professional’ says he could snap at anytime (without any knowledge or experience of the particular person) and the Captain can’t make his mind up and then suddenly decides he’s going home??? A couple of hundred people inconvenienced and a complete financial loss of this flight. The sole unruly passenger was annoying and got their own way. Certainly didn’t endanger the plane, just being a complete twat. Really bizarre. Surprised someone just didn’t smack him and let law enforcement deal with him at the other end.
It sounds like someone was certainly going to try when the pilot relays before it jumps to his final approach.
Yep, a free for all. Mob mentality in an enclosed space like an airplane? Not good.
Keep in mind we’re hearing one side of the convo. I guarantee that company wanted him to press on to florida and he was playing the game, then put his foot down at the end once he had burned his fuel
I'm getting more mad by the minute. One guy causing all this. Arggghhhhhh
I'm surprised they trying to ask for anything other than straight back
So... It wasn't clear.. was law enforcement going to be at the gate? haha
+Your Life Is A Great Story Having worked at Logan, it would have been MSP (Massachusetts State Police) that met the passenger at the gate. They deal with 99% of security related incidents, esp. unruly passengers.
Aang6678 I was just joking/being sarcastic because it was mentioned so many times.
Your Life Is A Great Story Oh, I seem to loose the ability to discern humor this late at night :P
Aang6678 I figured you missed the haha. I also figured someone would take it for a real question as it's hard to project humour in a sarcastic comment without filling it full of "LOLZ" and smiley faces haha.
Lol. I think around 5~6 cops showed up probably coz each controller called in for some. Haha.
But as he said: "Should be enough of them, but thanks for giving a try!" " :P
im sure the TSA will service him back at the airport. This will be a hard lesson for him to learn
Actually, no. The LEO's were in charge when the plane got back to the gate. TSA didn't have anything to do with the situation.
Mental Health Professional now is uncomfortable lol how annoying.
Condused she was probably nothing more than a life coach.
If they're a professional they should know how to calm someone down and prevent them from getting upset again.
MegaMech The problem with that statement is while it's true, there's very likely a ton of legal liabilities if she ended up failing at the attempt. Better to not risk it and potentially make things worse, it's not like they were the rude guy's personal therapist, so they don't know all his particular quirks and such. We can all also only speculate so much since we weren't there and only have the pilot's side of things.
Well, in that case she should have just kept quiet instead of announcing her opinion with professional authority.
Andrew Sarangan
By law, she was required to say something.
Just a little subtlety: it's more typical to say "in the description" rather than "on the description."
He was instructed to turn RIGHT DCT PROVI PSN but instead turned left. Curious
His right...looks left to you.
Log it...TWICE!
You can't make this stuff up. "Unruly passenger and now another passenger wants to beat him up!"
I guess if you're on that flight it's not so funny.
Great work by all. Cap't made the right decision.
So, how did it end?
Just think of the Airplane movie and the scene with the nun !..... ;-)
It’s why I no longer fly commercial air. 😎
Any footage of airport security cams?
If the crew had enough hours to refuel and try the flight again, while they were burning off fuel they could have descended and flown towards Philly, Baltimore, or Washington. All places where JetBlue flies. I wonder why that wasn't done?
Agreed. They were going to finish the flight either way. I would have thought they'd fly more towards FLL rather than divert back north. I'm no pilot though.
+WindowSeatFlyer Probably so that the unrully customer wouldn't be stranded at some random location. I'm all for forcing them to take a bus back to there home but news companies would give the airline major shit for it.
Too heavy to land. It's mentioned in the first part that they needed to burn fuel off in order to land. That's the funny thing about flying; you'd think they would pick somewhere closer except there are weight limits for landing.
I would have thought that after burning off fuel, it would make sense to divert to New York-JFK, where there would have been a spare plane, and likely spare crews, to complete the flight once passengers could be transferred to another plane.
What?? They had one unruly passenger shortly after takeoff. The captain wanted to turn back and land, get the idiot off the plane, refuel and then just continue the journey. Why would they need a spare plane and other crews to complete the flight?
Shocked at the indecisiveness of this crew. Make a decision and stick to it.
at 4:25, it should be “and they’re fully briefed of the situation”, instead of “they’re still all briefed”
Why wouldn't they land at NY or elsewhere close by, save time and fuel?
I was in a similar situation once on my flight to Frankfurt from Mumbai. The flight had to return due to one woman making a scene for god knows what. I missed my separate connection flight from Frankfurt to Amsterdam and lost money and time because of that and so did many others. These assholes need to be banned.
Blue watch? Sounds like cop watch 😂
I don't know why they have to be so abstruse on this one. Granted there are plenty of Av channel (all AM , VHF, unencoded) listeners but .. you know they could use Ozzie slang, the Rozzers and no American would have a clue.
How sad.
To bad there's not a video of this guy getting removed from the aircraft
one person how expensive that would of been
More than everything else this video shows me how much the listening abilities of this channel have improved over time. These days the subtitles are almost perfect, whereas in this video almost half of all the subtitles are wrong.
Does anyone know what the end result of this was- did the removed passenger get charged or convicted of anything?
possible pilot deviation 2:20, ATC said turn right
Do we have the passenger's name? I think everyone should know.
The pilot needs to be more decisive. Once he made the call about disruptive passenger it should've been return and thats it. Definitely needs to weigh the situation more thoughtfully before making such a callout
Orlando S
Says someone who obviously has zero flight hours as a pilot.
It's like reading a comment by a car mechanic saying what a heart surgeon should have done.
And then return for an overweight landing? He had to burn fuel anyway to safely land, so he had plenty of time to weigh all his options.
These subtitles are off which is unusual here.
So in this situation, why return to Boston? Why not stop at the next airport on route (something in NYC for example), get the guy removed, then continue on your way? Seems like returning to Boston, and then starting the flight over again, would be a big inconvenience for all of the passengers, and the most expensive option for the company?
Also, this is recent, so where's the cell phone video of this? You know it's out there somewhere!
They couldn't have landed at JFK right away. They had to burn fuel to get the plane light enough for a safe landing. So, why not continue toward Florida? There are other airports along the Eastern seaboard. The jerk on board can be arrested anywhere. This is what bugs me the most about this incident. There was no good reason to burn fuel and time in circles around Long Island. What they needed could have been handled at any major airport.
I thought the same thing Joe...why just make circles?
Perhaps the flight crew may not be legal to continue (flight exceeded regs). Or perhaps other passengers may decide not to continue on. Both good reasons to return to the departing airport, if its close enough. More likely that they'll be close to home, if that makes sense
By the time they got that unruly passenger calmed down it was too late. They had burned too much fuel. Besides, that Mental Health Professional sealed the deal with regards to returning to Boston. They did what the procedures told them to do.
@@shanemontanez6281 probably wanted to be home so they could say there were too traumatized to continue their day and just head home..
at 6:15, it should be “we could use some security” instead of “we’ll conduce some security”
anyone noticed that at 2:25, atc instructs to “turn right direct to.....”, but they turned left instead?
no shit, that's why the next exchange is "hey are you turning left??"
Victor, have you had anything like this happen to you?
The captain really wanted to go back to Boston. He was basically looking for any excuse!
why go all the way back to Boston, why not. New York, Atlantic City or Philadelphia? Would be on the way and less need of more fuel. and no fear of be behind legal time of the crew
0:34 should be "and ill see what i can do" shouldnt it?
Provi and Krann not sure what those are?
As far as I can figure out they're waypoints. Fixed locations to help navigate the aircraft to the destination, easier and clearer to read out than for instance GPS coordinates.
So they landed after dumping all that fuel and took guy back up or another crazy lady
didnt dump. burned it.
What a waste of time. I do not understand the captains actions. If it was desperate get the plane down as soon as possible. If not put down at an airport on route. Why take so much time messing about. And then we did not hear the result.
