  • "The Voice" keeps active, resurrecting classic tunes and occasionally releasing new music. What follows are the initial groundbreaking albums with four bands + debut solo project. * means don’t own/unfamiliar with most songs.
Tons of Sobs 7.1/B+ mostly interesting first album, all members under twenty!
[Self-titled] 8/A- progress in every area with genuine rockers & acoustic/mellow stuff replacing largely-generic blues
Fire and Water 8.5/A arguably best display of amazing vocal talent also quartet’s finest work
Highway 6.4/B released way too quickly (another 1970 LP) that critics sometimes overrate, although contains a few gems
Free Live! 5.8/B only the diehard and/or completist need bother
Free at Last 7/B+ touching reunion could use a pulse if not a reason to exist
Heartbreaker 6.4/B new members (especially “Rabbit”) add spark but it’s clearly over without Andy Fraser while Paul Kossoff is really a guest by now
Best of Free * never owned supposedly-great compilation
Songs of Yesterday 9/A box with probably too much previously-released material: outtakes, alternate versions, live and non-Free additions to impressive catalogue
Bad Company or “Bad Co.” 7.6/B+ impressive debut although close to know began sounding mediocre pre-1981 when their manager stopped caring!
Straight Shooter * Run with the Pack * Burnin’ Sky * Desolation Angels * Rough Diamonds * all BC studio product
    10 from 6 * Same as BoF
Rock 'n' roll Fantasy: The very best of Bad Company 6.7/B+ worth owning alongside their only #1 (self-titled keeper)
Cut Loose * Paul’s first solo album unknown to most fans of previous/future band work
The Firm 6.3/B two decent radio-friendly tunes, one interesting long piece and whole lotta filler
Mean Business 5.1/B- last hurrah already for minor supergroup is just about listenable throughout
The Law * sank with barely a trace during early daze of grunge
The cosmos Rocks * Queen’s first new album since 1995, missing crucial bassist/composer John Deacon & queer lead vocalist; two legendary singers at one point or another!
