  • The World Premiere of BAD LIKE BROOKLYN DANCEHALL, directed by Ben DiGiacomo and executive produced by Shaggy, screened to sold out audiences across three showings at the 2023 Tribeca Festival in New York City.
The feature documentary includes interviews with dancehall luminaries like Grammy Award-winning artists Shaggy and Sean Paul, the Jamaican-born father of hip hop Kool Herc, sound system selector LionFace (fka BabyFace), producer King Jammys, record label icon Patricia “Miss Pat” Chin of VP Records, trailblazing radio personalities Pat McKay and Bobby Konders, and many more.
The opening night audience was treated to post-screening musical performances by dancehall legends Screechy Dan and Red Fox, Ding Dong, and Shaggy himself, introduced by Max Glazer.

Some of these artists should not be on here because they are not New York artist. Like Shaun Paul and Ding Dong.
NY artist should have been like Screechie Dan James Bond Redd Foxx Daddy Pecka Sleepy Wonder Orin Ranking Bobo General Night Rider Errol T Mikey Jarrett Sister Carrol Willo Wilson Shinehead Santa Ranking Rayvon Gully General Marshal One Cpl Tan Floydie Wonder Jerry Don Silver Fox Scion Success and many many more. Name too nuff to mention.

We were lucky and honored to have NY dancehall legends Screechy Dan and Red Fox perform at the world premiere! The film also features them and other New York artists. We chose to include some Jamaica-based artists like Sean Paul and Ding Dong because they also had a strong connection to New York and influenced the direction of dancehall outside of Jamaica. We hope you'll get a chance to see the film soon!

Ding dong early stages in his career he spent most of his time in Brooklyn. He used to run around with Ricky blaze. Used to see him in elite ark all the time back in the day. His music career really took off from Brooklyn.. before then he was only really known for dancing
