I remember watching on the bus's when I was about 10yrs old, I'm 65 now , I'm sad when I hear of the members of the cast who have past even though this is inevitable, I'm impressed that they were quite down to earth in the fact that they could act so brilliantly and carry on a normal family life as well unlike many actors today who are all glamour and no substance.

16:46 Cicely Courtnidge's role as "Mum" in "On The Buses" was brief, thus she was *OVERSHADOWED* in the role by her replacement, Doris Hare. Again an example of *POOR RESEARCH, IF ANY RESEARCH WAS DONE AT ALL!*

John Lyons was far better known as DS George Toolan in "A Touch of Frost" (1992-2010) and featured in 39 episodes. He was in only four episodes of "On the Buses" and played three different characters (Bert, Sid and Bill)!

Cicely Courtnidge *WAS NOT* in "On The Buses" for more than the first dozen or so episodes before being replaced by Doris Hare! Doris Hare appeared in 67 episodes of On The Buses. Cicely Courtneidge appeared in the first season in only 7 episodes as mum. Doris Hare is the actress I recall as mum and was the more popular. I never missed an episode.
