We would not hve been able to do it with out the help of our very own Pit boss Dave.
He let us run his never before run Team Associated RC8... What an amazing car for our first try at nitro racing.

Good stuff! You've hit the nail on the head there, referring to the notion of racing, with the smells and sounds of Nitro, along with 1/5 Petrol I find that experience hard to beat with other types of RC, I've not done 1/8 Rallycross for around 30years when I used to thrash a Kyosho Inferno, loved every minute of it. And it was good to see Herts RC Club track, I plan to be there this coming season (when work allows) and participate in some of the BRCA rounds (electric Truggy if they run the class). AWESOME video lads!! Only thing that would have made it a little better would have been to hear the cars more instead of the background music.. Loved every minute still.. Love hearing those Nitro's sing!! Look forward to your next visit down there..

I'm pleased to say that my Kyosho MP9 has been setup my Mick Craddock, too! He has the midas touch with nitro engines
We were up against some stiff competition… that is for sure .
@PopalongRC I've recently started watching your channel. The video featuring the two Rlaarlos and the banana phone was my introduction video. You should use the carrot phone to call in Mick for some help!
I've ordered the carbon fibre dual motor Rlaarlo ak 787. They're delaying the delivery to make sure that the quality is top notch. Has anyone had any bad experiences with the cars they make?
@@plewsford great idea however we’ve been experimenting with a cucumber, unfortunately we recently lost it, ever since carl has been walking a bit funny. As for rlarrlo cars, we rate them, they are real nice cars and great value for money👍
@plewsford we have not got any complaints yet … other than our driving hahaha
@PopalongRC I'm looking forward to it arriving. As with all rtrs I'll be checking the screws and using thread lock. Seeing that it's a copy of the Mazda 787b, I'll be painting the inner part of the rear wheels gold.

I know brushless rc cars are really better performance-wise but nitro/gas powered rc cars will always have a soft fuzzy spot in my heart. My first hobby spec rc car was a nitro, OFNA ravager. 1/8 4WD buggy and I went on to race it at the local track and man the memories that were made with that car. Was a great time, so much so I bought another one off eBay to fix up and get it out and bash around

Do love the driving experience of nitro , sound smell and how the powder comes on is so different from my usual 1/10 electric.... but dont think i could ever race 20min finals , i struggle to keep my cool and concentration in a 5min final 😂😂

I'm sure I spotted one of the other drivers taking a swig of nitro ? that's dedication. I do love nitro but so noisy, messy and pretty expensive. I just cant run mine anywhere near me without annoying people. I am the very definition of the brushless generation...

Great video lads. I got to be honest though, I don't think my eyesight is good enough to see enough on that big track. That looks very difficult. I would like to give it a go though.

Love to see more nitro action especially with some reviews and racing and maybe a proper review on the sausage and bacon roll or muffin what ever it was it looked amazing. Once your over the engine tuning thing nitro is great and the sound for me it can't be beaten.

Why have we not done it sooner
This track is opposite where I had my wedding reception. I've always wanted to have a go but it looks really intimidating for a total noob. I might have to face my fears and give it a go, it looks excellent. Can abandon the wife and kids at Woody's Play Barn too!

@@PopalongRC I'm a Tamiya nut though, I have only 10th scale 2WD buggy stuff (TD2 / DT-02MS / BBX). Would those be any use on their 10th astro track or would I feel like a total chump?

They won’t be winning any a finals but you will get them round and have some fun
Nitro racing does look like fun! Unfortunately, we do not have facilities like that in Canada.
We will need to hunt out some more tracks

I know you probably have to edit for the masses but I felt hard done by watching this, too much Popalong waffle and not enough racing… I would have loved to have actually seen race footage, I personally would watch the full unedited 20 minute final….😊looking forward to the next one! How would you compare 1/8 Nitro to 1/10 indoors? Better, worse or just as fun because it’s playing with toy cars?
Funnily enough the next video is all about 1/8 compared to 1/10
@@PopalongRC I find it hard to choose as they are so different in their own ways, I’m always drawn towards 1/8 though, we just don’t have enough tracks over here

Guy's! Do know what, you'd be mad not to go back, work on the set up, get the horse's tuned, slap on some super soft rubber and climb up to the A-main! Sub'd ( Hert's was where I met the likes of Craddock, Boot's, Bloomfield and Lee Martin and I've been hooked ever since) 🔥🔥🔥

We do in the UK too usually for the nationals, during the winter our days are quite short so time is an issue.

125cc tank needs refueling about every 7 and a half minutes under race conditions
Probably 10-12 tanks over the whole day

broken shell and motor in bits. and a 50 mile round trip to get it. I'll stick with the vrx/ftx 1/10 machines for now, latest bugsta upgrades included sway bars and chunky 70mm wide zd racing tires, brushless conversion going well enough i've orderd a wheelie bar, smiles for miles
