INCREDIBLE HEART From Mariano At

- This high stakes poker hand features a huge bluff for a lot of money, so naturally it's right in my wheelhouse. Double M is in a tough spot with top pair against repeated barrels from Mariano. What does the solver have to say about it?

I made it into a Doug Polk video!
You tellbox!
You're a legend bro!
Lol
Running absurdly above expected value for an extended period of time will do that lol
You can retire happy now!
I love the breakdowns with your commentary along with the solver, seeing the mixture helps with the overall understanding why the plays make sense.
What program is he using?

I agree, just dont get to nerdy like some other channels do with the solver.
^ this
Love the solver in combination with your breakdown, the two side by side really paints a perfect, full picture when analyzing hands like this. So glad to see you making content again, keep it up!
The statistical analysis with the charts are good for visual learners and the breakdown talk is good for listening on the go.
I dig the solver breakdown angle quite a bit. It's always interesting seeing what the solvers say about particular situations, especially those as intriguing as this. It's really cool you are making videos again Doug looking forward to more.
I loved everything that this is. More please! Glad you’re back, Doug
I liked the light sprinkling of the solver analysis. No need to go too deep in the solver, but I think this video balanced it just right
I like hearing your thought process as in depth as possible, but seeing if the solver agrees with the conclusion is simply a bonus.
This is just like the good old days, great stuff thank you. I think half your analysis and half what the solver likes is perfect just how you did it so we get both sides
This content is really improving my day thank you Doug!
I like the combination of your experience along with the solver output. Best of both worlds. Keep the good content coming. Thanks.
Love both the polker insight and solver streets! Video was a good combination of both
love the addition of the solver work and more indepth analysis
Adding the solver in is awesome!!! Thanks Doug! Keep it up!
Doug, I'd actually like "both" your opinion and what the solver says,
it makes fpr great content, and we can all learn something along the way.
I liked that. Solver stuff helps reiterates, and opens eyes. For us that don't run them it's really very interesting and ur ability to concisely clarify solver reasoning is rare and a welcome gift u share when u do this type content. Puts ur teaching skills on a level of PG in my opinion. Thanks for sharing.
Like it Doug! This 'soft analysis' makes great content
Perfect mix of what YOU would do vs. the solver. Also like that you let each round play out without commentary THEN you back it up to chime in; it gives us the chance to ponder "what would I do" before listening to your and the solver. Spot on perfect, the nutz of review, commentary, and the nitty gritty. Well done! 👍
i love the hands that you’re picking to analyze doug. your vids are very entertaining and a fun watch. keep up the content!!!
love the combo of your brainz and solver work
I've been enjoying the hand break downs coming in again like the old days. Keep em coming
Love the solver style breakdowns Doug! As a live player I do think there is room for both a solver/mathematical approach as well as an exploitative approach. Perhaps the type of players in the hand (or the type of game) could be what decides what type of analysis you take.
The content is GOLD! Do both 👍👍
This was brilliant. More of this please.
Keep up the good work Doug! We are loving the consistent content! 👍🏽
Hey Doug, love the more frequent posts! I thought this format was awesome, solver + your own intuition.
Thanks for making my Monday a lot better 😊
These new videos coming in fast 🔥 Doug for president!
Thanks Doug, this was great. Would like to see this type of analysis AND what you would have done
love the gto approach explanation. also interesting to know your approach but i just have hard time focusing on the math by myself and it helps when other people go over it.
Some of both is good. I enjoy the funny’s and the analysis. Good work Doug.
Came here from twitter, heard you talk about this video. It is a great hand! The video was never recommended to me, glad I watched it. Hang in there, you are the man of the people!
With some solver analysis like today, it adds value. Also, it gives some idea how to use solvers. Thank you for your great work
I love getting into the solver streets. I like to learn about the nuance that goes into some of these close decisions.
refreshing to got u back here Doug.
You can do either way. some vids with solvers some vids with what u would choose to do.
Love the silver! Great vids lately 👌 welcome back
These breakdowns are great. Could you do mid-stakes hands as well? I love watching high stakes but the lower stakes tables play very differently xD
I like the addition of the solver, really helps us see how far people are deviating from “correct” play and if people are secretly gto geniuses
The mix you give is very good. You give the context of what it is like sitting in the seat of a high stakes game. And also "go to the book" to see what the computer says. It's a classic human v machine .
The king is back... this is amazing content bro! 🎉
I enjoy the breakdowns. It's good to see how I should be thinking about hands that I'm playing.
Giving your analysis and then showing us the solver works well. Your comments teach the viewer how to interpret the solver and provide a ton of extra value. Keep crushing it! 👍
nice video Doug,, id like to see more videos with the solver, as i just started using and trying to figure it out
Awesome
Video Doug
Love your videos 😊
Question will you do video in depth of nik airballs hand vs Stanley (AJ)?
very nice - would love to see more videos of this kind
Solver analysis is great. Love it. What's the program you use?
Really loving the solver breakdowns
+1 for mixing in some Pio work.. A nice balance between "traditional" Polker hands and some in depth combinatorics/ solver stuff is the nuts, IMO.
Hey Doug, I ❤ the nerdy computer analysis. I don't think it will routinely apply to the games I play, but it really helps me understand some of the nuances of why the computer does things. It's fascinating.
I love the combination like you did in this video, say what you would do and what the solvers say. TX!
Great vid loved the solve analysis
Love the solver explanations
I'm just glad that you're going back to the way you really make money: By talking about poker.
:)
What I love about your channel is when you just give your straight up commentary. You are naturally funny.
Doug we love both! Either you blasting off in the one drop, or showing us the math of blasting off in the one drop
the solver stuff is fantastic, love it
Hi @Doug , while the solver is using 86 type hands as bluff some of the time in all 3 streets, it's also giving up some of the time in each. This type of randomization is very hard to implement for people, and most thinking players tend to have no pure giveups in polarized 3 barrel spots once they start bluffing and miss later on. This results in either overbluffing on the river or underbluffing on the flop (or both). If this leak is true for the opponent, does it make sense to call tighter on the flop than optimal and call down all bluff-catchers on the river, as an exploit?
I would love it if you would try to talk more about how to deviate from gto on these types of hands
Both, breakdown was very nice!
Doug and Bart imo are the best commentators ever in terms of analysis and flow. Just great great content.
These videos are the best.
Personality shines through.
Keep it funny but keep it poker.
like the analysis and format as is, would enjoy some discussion on players' mannerisms and live tells. I noticed mariano check his cards once or twice AFTER barrelling on the river and hearing your thoughts on if this is a giveaway would be sick
Doug, listening to you break down hands is great with or without solvers. I know this is pre school stuff for you, but to us mortals it’s pure gold.
I like the idea of talking through the solver occasionally for marginal hands like this, teaches a lot especially for newer players on how to use solvers to look at their game
I like this new format!
Mariano + double M = triple M, which as we all know, stands for Triple Range Merge. Flawless execution by Mariano picking up on that in this hand and going for it.
This comment needs more upvotes!
I love a great mix of nerdy and ("WWDD") What Would Doug Do input. Stick with that Sir, its much appreciated.
I think the JT turn check frequency is more to do with equity vs bluff balance - checking and seeing a river is more profitable than having to give up some frequency to a turn check raise.
Whats the name of solver you are using? Great content, really enjoyed breaking down this hand for us and poker news are off the charts, like the humorous side of that.
Would like to see both solver content and doug content
Loving the stuff with the solvers, but can you explain the actual solver program a bit more, like what do the numbers beside the bets mean on the solvers (I assumed that was bet amount but it didnt seem to be matching with the hand) or anything else that isnt necessarily intuitive
If you could include both solver info and the way you would play it, that would be great. Thanks for the videos.
Solver Doug we need more solver in our lives
Welcome back Doug!!!
This style is nice, feel free to throw some more of your perspective on it though. Happy to see you back!
thanks Doug and play strong
Also I like smaller size on turnblike he used and then ai river cuz it increases fold equity - if we overbet turn and get called seems very torchy to still follow thru on river
Loving the solver analydis
I like the mix of breakdown + solver.
In agreement with the other comments, the mix was really good and is a great format for you.
both is way better math and you as a pro - best to know all option why and when vs one player or another is a better play in the long run ---- love your content and role model successes - helps as a business man, a little bit of personal and poker play
I like the mixture of you and the computer. You should throw in a joke about how you beat the computer and that sometimes it could be wrong. Lol
This mix is perfectly fine
Analysis with solvers please 😊 it was great
Doug looking LEAN! check out those arms. GJ
I like your analysis, the solver is good to see as well
Checking what the solvers say is nice!
I like it when you get into the nitty gritty. Good video.
More of this combo style!
I enjoyed seeing the solver but I value your experience and knowledge as well. I think Mariano might get Mariano might get called a bit more after that hand, but that could be a good thing for him.
A mix of what you'd do and what solvers think is great Doug 🙂
I like both styles of analysis
Say how you would play it, love your breakdown vids👍🏻
Enjoying the solver works
Omg can we please go back to daily videos for 90 days straight? Haha keep it up Doug!
Let's let the man work back up to it! We don't want another years-long sabbatical 😂
I thought it was a nice balance. It’s about your thought process. So, if that’s part of it I’m glad you include it. Even if I only understand 20% of it.
We all saw that hand and wanted to know whether Mariano was spewing there or if it was good. Thanks!
Like the solver stuff!
Maybe solver analysis on the turn and your analysis on all other streets? For me, the turn is probably the hardest street to formulate strategies on.
You raise with pairs + bd draws because when super deep you need to use highest equity hands that also blocks their strongest call downs - because when we take this raise line on flop then by turn and river AK AQ AJ AT have to start folding :..
Great stuff Douglas K Polk... the supreme leader
