Texas Giant and The Rattler never lived up to Texas Cyclone in my opinion. Then again, Texas Cyclone was my first thrill ride. I felt like I became a man that day. This ride is the one that got me into coasters. Steel Vengeance is now my all-time favorite coaster, but Texas Cyclone will always be my first love. RIP, TC!

TC was my first big coaster. I use to ride it all the time back in high school when I had a season pass. I always felt that the pacing on this coaster was amazing.

Oh my goodness, just the anticipation you felt going up the incline for the first drop. Cyclone was the ride of all rides in the 70s. First time I rode I closed my eyes from fear the whole time . It banged you up so bad but we loved it. Thanks for bringing back those summer days from the 70s when life was super simple and uncomplicated.

The Texas Cyclone was THE BEST Roller Coaster 🎢.
The herky jerky of the tracks on that wood???
Nothing compares, no steel coaster will ever come close to the love and connection the people of Houston has with the Cyclone.
    It should still be running!!!

Cyclone is my favorite roller coaster of all time. I have always compare ever coaster since then to the Cyclone. It was jarring, intimidating, and fast. Once you rode it you would never forget it. I loved riding the last car and catch huge air. No other coaster gave me the thrills the Cyclone gave. It was sad Astroworld is not around today. Every time I drive by where the park was located it brings back years of memories. RIP

Losing the Cyclone. Not going to lie. It hurt. It's like a part of your childhood gets destroyed. Feels like your hearts been ripped out. I still miss the rattling wood. The weaving in & out the wood frame. Many of us would give anything in the world to ride it again. But this is the closest we'll get now. Thank you for bringing back memories.
