They seem to be working harder to find illegal fireworks than working to catch the catalytic converter thieves.

Thank you Nevada for supplying California With Fireworks.. Its so far of a drive I passed this year. but plenty of people went to Red Apple this year and the 4th is going to be wild.

When I was a teen back in the 70s my friend who recently moved from NY to south Florida told me his dad was a cop on Long Island and every year that’s how they got their fireworks. The cops would confiscate the illegal fireworks and bring them home to their kids.
This is a waste of resources for fireworks.

I saw this when it happened lol 20 police vehicles, multiple Cal fire trucks, huge rolloff trailers to hold the seized fireworks and they were literally pulling over every single car coming from Nevada. I was headed to Nevada, this was between Baker and Shoshone. mostly around the turn off for Tecopa, can't remember if it was before or after.
What freeway where they doing the firework check point ? Did you also saw that recently ?

@UC98P64hBc0FLibhwFtuoAXg Death Valley Road, usually dead, might see no more than 10 cars the entire drive, most of the year. Not condoning or condemning but it would be wise to check a few different gps apps and look ahead for any traffic, hazards, or police markers along the road.

Its BS! Because you pay for a permit to purchase fireworks legally in Nye county but can use them there only on holidays. You have 24 hours to transport them out, but to the north they are illigal in ckark county, and to the south also illegal in San Bernardino county! Sounds like entrapment to me!!!
