    Ali, i've seen a lot of foreigner bloggers and compared with only some of yours. So far, you're the only one that is down to earth that can relate my fellow filipinos, you can easily win their hearts. More power to you as you continue to show traits of having a heart for pinoys. I'm a navy/army veteran living in California since Feb 1986 and watching your videos is very heartwarming. Other bloggers all they do is complain when you even slept in a cockroach infested hotel, I believe in you brother. Keep it up.

      you ever wonder why everybody seem to have something bad to say about other regions? this mentality is very tribal but seems to be a common cultural sin throughout the archipelago. the worst version of this though is how the northerners look down on the southerners. it's almost like we like to pick an arbitrary negative trait and then blow it up and use it to describe an entire group of people just because of where in the country they were born. i always found that strange and ugly but fascinating.

    Being a foreigner and with camera, you're highly unlikely to become a target of bad people. Filipinos kinda get starstruck when they see foreigners, especially Caucasians, and treat you like celebrity.
    If a random Filipino guy goes there, they won't be as welcoming. People in bad areas will stare at you in a challenging way, ask you for money and get violent if you don't comply. That's just my experience growing up there as a teen.

      I used to live very near to Tondo as a broke college student. Me and my classmates ate in one of the small carenderias inside Tondo to save money too.
      We're not foreigners but weve never experienced any kind of hostility from the people there.
      They werent as welcoming of course, didnt greet us just like how they did to Ali but they were pretty nice. One elderly pedicab driver even used to give us free rides because he knew we were broke. Told us to " magbayad nalang kayo pag yumaman na kayo".

    • @FrankCENA
      @FrankCENA 9 месяцев назад

      @kimpiero2525 That's great to hear. It's usually the younger ones that cause trouble. And iirc if you live close to the territory you're kinda off limits too, you say "Tiga dyan lang ako" don't mess with me.
      I used to live in sampaloc between 2 squatters area "batang riles" I can go to squatters area on left but not on the right side. And squatters area from the left have regular fights with the ones on the right, stoning each other, knives and sometimes gunshots.
      I also experienced bad people on arcades and outside school lol they take my arcade tokens and money. I was 15 and much smaller then tho lol and that was 20 years ago. Maybe things have changed.
