This is a great video with some good advice.
Unfortunately the health care is not the best in the Philippines. A lot of them do not have regular check ups. I know my GP will advise me of the vaccines for my age. A friend of mine here has regular skin cancer checks every 6 months and the last three times had cancerous moles that were discovered.

If, you can find a place that’s fairly quiet (and this takes concentrated effort.). And if you only drink good water, And be very careful where and what you eat, And if you surround yourself with people that don’t take advantage of you , And if you gain understanding why things are like they are in PI, And you look for the good in people while having wisdom to avoid the bad then you will do ok here. The urge to go back to the comfort of your western home will come and go, but as a man in his 60s , watching the controlled demolition of the western world is painful to watch. So in PI I live a quiet life, cook most of our meals with good ingredients, spend time in nature or sitting by the river and find the good people to enjoy, life is what you make it.

If you have a heart condition and are prescribed medication, DO NOT STOP taking it unless your doctor advises you to do so. Abruptly stopping heart medication can lead to heart attacks or strokes. It usually takes a week or two for these drugs to take effect, and your body needs time to adjust to them. Let your body get used to the medication. Once you notice significant, positive effects, continue taking it as prescribed. If you stop taking it and start feeling unwell, you'll need to take it again, creating a cycle that can strain your heart. I'm a nurse, by the way. RIP Mr. Thornton.

I listen to three guys on RUclips that specialize on diets and supplements for longevity; Dr Mark Hymen , Dr. Ford Brewer , and Dr Eric Berg. Between the three of them I have gotten great advice on good health and diet. I believe in prevention as a way to staying healthy here in the Philippines 🇵🇭. I live in the Province and when I retired here I felt the stresses from the USA and my work melting away. But I had to make a conscious choice about good diet and changing my mental attitude.

I just got back from the Philipines this afternoon, my 3rd time after24 years. The air pollution is so bad I can taste the crap in it and the smell is gross from motor bikes and diesel, the reminds me of the soot from a fore place, and noise did not help my tinnitus. I came back sick , mostly likey envimental air pollution and the sound pollution. Also the burning of trash with the plastic in it, it was rough on me being older and I'm physical fit, bike, hike, try to eat right. I seen not me foreigners, there is ones who enjoy it,did see a couple of them that looked like what did I do in life to deseve this.
I don't know, it's different, people with phones to there face and the obesity is very noticeable most with yong and well off. I would like to see Tahiland

I visited for a month and the food and pollution adversely affected my health. There's sugar and seed oils in everything. That right there will kill me. There's also a lot of carbs in everything. Then there's the air pollution. That will mess up my lungs. Then there's the noise pollution. That will cause tremendous stress. Plus being viewed as an ATM is stressful. I'd take a look at what Filipinos are dying of. Diabetes is a big one. And life Expectancy is low there. They appear to be getting fatter there, like the West. That's the food. Most days I walk 10K steps. But it became increasingly unsafe because I stood out like a big white target. Then there's skin cancer. I think if you're fortunate to find yourself in a good situation like Mark, living on the beach in a nice house, you're going to be healthier, although I don't know what is like to walk 3-5 miles there daily while being watched by the native. Oh look: the ATM's walking down the beach again. Let's go make a withdrawel.

I went there for three months this past summer. Sorry that your experience was bad, but mine was the exact opposite. Little stress and friendly people in the places I stayed. Lapu Lapu, Hindang, and a few smaller barangays. The history, if you look for it, is amazing. The views are gorgeous. The people minded their own business unless I, or my girlfriend, needed something, or just wanted to visit. Better luck to you.

exactly my experience as well. I am so much happier back in arizona. I was so anxious and stressed there all the time and the food made me gain weight like crazy. I think its the oil they use. three years later i still feel unwell from my time there.
