- This Body Camera is my second iteration of Transcend's Body Camera range and I can clearly see the improvements. I had it for few months now but kept delaying the review worrying I will not provide enough to make the video informative.
It has happened. I sat down and finished the review along with footage from my trip to Barcelona. This camera is not too bad at all but it does have it's quirks. See for yourself.
Note as this is a review unit I will have to send it back to Transcend. I do believe I have covered the most of it, if I did miss anything - let me know. This is by no means sponsored video other than Transcend allowing me to review the unit in my time and provide my unbiased opinion about it.

Hello! when recording is activated, the configured buffer seconds are stored with audio? or the audio is activated by pressing the button twice to start recording? Thank you! (excuse my English)
Thanks for the review, this helped me in making my purchase. I also have 2 of the TRANSCEND 32GB models w/ smaller batteries. They are both great for work and the best cams ive used to date. I am getting the 30 model as I need longer battery life. The footage in the 32gb models has the same purple in the 30 version. The footage is very good for security purposes and night mode is very clear.
Hi. I believe purple tint is the lack of infrared filter. Not sure of reasoning behind this though, possibly better low light capabilities.
I need you help! How good is the night vision when you're not around a lot of back lighting?
Hi Eds, would it be possible to use this for cycling as a cycling cam? and would it be irish weather proof? ie. torrential rain and rain.
I use mine when i ride around- works fine

I've had this camera for a few months and think it's a solid camera but thought the picture quality was doable but it has improved greatly with the current firmware version 1.9 update.
Does this still buzz every minute. This feature did not turn off regardless of what you set it to in the app.

The Security Cam Channel but does it still vibrate every min. In stealth mode. This was a major bug when I tested last year

if not how is teh audio quality for having a conversation with a person?
Hi. As this is not intended for this use and audio is more of an extra than given there is no such feature. You can however use external audio recorder if needed and sync in post.
I have the drive pro 10- It picks up the audio very well,
I am very happy with the transcend product- an di assume with this one being the drive pro 20- it will and should be better than the drive pro 10- I feel this guy knows too much of this stuff- This is high grade Law enforcement Material- has wide spread video- so it captures everything in your view- and the audio is great.... Just don't hide it under your shirt if you want to record a conversation- when the built in MIC rubs against the shirt on the inside its too loud.. and ruins the conversation recording- i know this from experience :) - Hope this helped out-
Can it record video continuously? In about 10 hours? I want the films to be continuous and not to replace the previous film with a new one every minute. Is this possible? How many hours can the battery be active?
Hi. Battery lasts probably 3 hours but I would say by that time you would be close to filling it up with footage. I think you need to check their newer cameras that might suit you more.
is this compatible with iPhone?
I have the same body cam that I use for work and it works great but the only problem is that I can set up the right time and I don’t know how to do it hopefully I hear from you so you can help me out I don’t feel like buying another body cam
This is a little late but you can sync the time through your PC or smartphone with the PC software or smartphone app.

@@flipblanc1794 There is a Mac version of their computer software "DrivePro Toolbox" that you can set up the parameter and sync time.

Im working as private police of virus research facility in South Korea, will I be able to use SD card? Im wearing armour vest with lots of pockets and two velcro parts on my chest. but shoulder part is very thin. Will the clip hold that thing on my vest? I mean, is the cliping power is strong? is it possible to buy extra clip? if not is it good idea to attach magnetic clip that is with strong glue. I work 10 hours in a day so I wanna none stop recording for 10 hours everyday. Will it automatically delete old videos? I really dont know what to buy. Money is not the issue. I just need video clips and very loud and clear audio recording for evidence. I really wonder about the night vision recording. BTW is that C type charing? sorry for lot of questions with bad English.
Hi. This particular model has a clip that is strong enough to use it on motorcycle backpack going over 100kmh in windy weather. It is very strong. My problem with thin vest over shoulder would be that the weight of the camera might twist it as it simply might not be strong enough (the clothing) to hold it still and straight. So if you can use chest pocket or other thicker part.
Video quality is good enough for security use day or night. It is also robust and holds well in dust and rain. SD card is internal, non replaceable on this model. For safety of the card and I guess overall anti tamper reasons.
Now as for battery this model lasts around 4 hours but will not last all day. For this I have seen other models with additional power bank connected as a part of a pack.
My one charges via very unusual connector that looks like headphone 3.5mm jack. It is very robust. USB C might be convenient but it is not rated for heavy use and breaks easily.

Can the clip be clipped to the MOLLE system or is it too wide for that?
Will the software work with a Mac?
Hi. Have a look what's the latest on Transcend website. Windows and MAC uses different install files so unless they made one for Mac specifically it won't work. There are some Macs that can run Windows or you could try a VM.
@@Edsdrafts thanks..I see that the Wifi function works with iOS and offers some basic settings.
You would need to check if you can Transcend app from the app store. If so - you should be all set.
@@Edsdrafts I downloaded the app..so hats good. I guess I would still need access to windows for settings. The app has limited settings. I like the model with the separate camera that you can clip on to your jacket.
Look into virtual machine for your mac if it can be done. Or see if you can get this done on friend's PC.
Nobody Say anything about how many megapixels2 is. I understand that the focus is from an aperture of 2 or someone knows how many megapixels is the camera please

Hi. It's not unfortunately. The video is not lifelike, it is more for a record hence they called it a body cam.
Is it waterproof?
IP Rating IP67
I use it on bike in the rain - all good so far, years after daily use. So yes, it holds well in the rain.
As for under water - don't try that, I doubt the charging port is properly sealed.

Hi. Thanks. Agreed, it is a bit pricey. Mind you if you want to use it for cycling, security work or similar cases the battery life is amazing. Video quality is not great but the battery lasts much longer than most action cameras.

Up to 12h. Possibly in silent mode, stand by only, not constantly recording etc. Battery life is very good on this model, even after years of usage. But it's not magic so no, constantly recording not 12h for sure. More like 3-4.
@@Edsdrafts I don’t think most people would be constantly recording though. They’d record as needed.
Anyone else have issues with Drivepro body toolbox crashing on their computer?
Hi. I don't use it on mine, simply drag and drop files off it as an external storage.
Did you reach out to the manufacturer?
@@Edsdrafts I did and they were pretty useless. The hitch is the microphone on my bodycam seems to be turned off. The only way I can change the settings is through the toolbox, which won't work for me.

I change all of my settings on the phone app, works fine every time.
It should, I play mine on VideoLAN app on PC or directly on TV.
You could’ve mentioned how to operate the software on IOS but you’re not using IOS
Battery life is 12 hrs not 4
Yes the manufacturer website advertises 12 hour battery life and up to 16 hours recording storage
@@brianoden At 720p resolution I can get at least a 10 hour recording time per charge.
I highly recommend bodycams in the office, when a person especially from the opposite gender talks or gets near you. Immediatley make a recording to minimize or prevent false allegations/accusations in the workplace.
but sadly the recording can have a lawsuit created in an office without public disclosure and premission if not you office policy.
Most people don't get reported if they're honestly not doing something.... And you can't illegally just record people. Maybe some self reflection is needed
Why is the entire video out of focus?
Because the only item that's supposed to be in focus is in focus :) Also all controls are manual so no focus hunting throughout the video.

Hi. Platform is free, in fact, you should upload something better instead. In fact it is encouraged, this is the only way to get better content.

Look this is not for someone who does not know how to use your the body cam... Recommendation---Review your video as if the person using it does not know how to use this camera.... Very poor learning video

No normal slide switch. how do i know if it's turned on if i can't see the diode because it's on the opposite side???? the diode must be at the top and the camera must have a normal switch, otherwise it is not known whether it is on or not !!!!!! Tragic sell
