I did not like doing squads and lunges in the beginning, but now I do 10 sets of 30 (4 x week) with light weights. It gets easier because your body gets use to it. I lost 30 lbs with exercise and healthy eating. Once I got use to it, I started doing squats and lunges during my favour tv shows (during commercials). Plus I am 53 years old and my mother and sister have arthritis in the knees. My fitness trainer is the one who trained me to do squats and lunges the right way for stronger legs and building muscles. I have more flexibility and less leg pains, hopefully this will prevent me from future history of family arthritis 🙏🏼🙏🏼

I am 80 yo and pretty fit but have been out of fitness for a couple years due to major life issues and changes.
So I have started on the road back by doing 25 squats
twice daily. I can’t quite get my thighs parallel to the floor yet but I’m trying to pay attention to keeping knees over toes and to STICK WITH IT!!!
Thanks for this vid. I need the motivation of the reminder of the many benefits of fitness. I see people 10 years younger than me and they look and act OLD!!! I want to stay forever young - in body, mind and spirit! 😁

It has been known for a long time that the squat is the most essential exercise. Often times when one goes to a gym, you see people focused (or obsessed even) with their upper body focusing on exercises such as bench press, dumb bell curls, shoulder press, back exercises, etc.
What many people do not realize is that much of your strength comes from your legs as well as your core (stomach) so if you work your legs and stomach diligently, it will help you immensely as you work on your upper body as well.

try progressive overloading to get better results! that means adding more reps or adding more weight, I think it's also important to try a lot of different exercises too. btw, squats aren't that effective for growing a butt, hip abduction and hip thrusts are much more effective.
