- PacMan World RePac Retro Gamer Trophy Guide - Clear round 9 of Classic Pac-Man.
NOTE: The arcade machine unlocks after completing the main story!
The trick is to follow a pattern. 1st round is one pattern, 2nd-4th is a second pattern, and from then on it´s a third pattern for the rest of the levels. I messed up on round 9 because I got super nervous. Keep trying and you will get it!
Breakdown:
-Round 1 - easy pattern, follow video.
-Round 2-4 - almost the same, except you turn back near the start and go up to avoid the blue ghost.
-Round 5+ - here it gets tricky. Follow the video for every move. Pause when you play it yourself, to check back on the video and follow the steps.
The ghosts DO have specific behavior according to how you move.

Took me a few hours across multiple nights, reaching level 9 twice with no lives left and inevitably failing, and finally today I got there with 2 lives left.
I feel insulted that they made this a silver trophy haha.

Holy shit, this guide is a godsend. This achievement came straight from hell, but I was consistently able to get to the final levels with a full stock of lives, and went into round 9 with 3. I came out with no spares, but it's done. I've had enough original Pac-Man for a lifetime.
0:20 level 1
1:16 level 2
2:19 level 3
3:17 level 4
4:09 level 5
5:25 level 6
6:25 level 7
7:26 level 8
8:22 level 9
This is a textbook example of "that one damn achievement" that's way harder than the rest and blocks you from getting 100% achievements.
I don't think I've ever even gotten past round 4 or 5 of Pac-Man. That game, like most arcade games, is designed to mug you very quickly to get more quarters in the machine.

Try to follow the video, then go to anywhere that is similar to this method Ben made
For those struggling there is a safe spot in the maze where the ghost are unable to get you.
Move to the square to the right of where Pacman spawns and immediately go up and stay there. This only works if you enter from the bottom and go up.

This was helpful but I'm not gonna lie this was MUCH easier than I thought it would be initially. I think a more helpful way to guide those who haven't gotten this yet would be telling you to follow the path taken in this video for like the first 10-20ish seconds on any given stage, because it will cause the ghosts to go into a certain position that makes cleaning up the maps easier. But you don't need to follow the exact path or even really very close to it at all after that. For example, on the path you use for the last few levels, that first part where he goes up through the middle-right and then back down and then eats all the dots that are in the square around the stage (I hope that makes sense lol) is what I followed, but once I had that first part of the path cut out I just went awol and it still worked out. And I don't mean I got lucky and just happened to not get in a bad spot. I mean I started trying to do this maybe an hour ago. It only took me like 40 min attempting this from scratch to get this trophy and I entered stage 7 with no extra lives. So in summary, the paths are extremely helpful for setting up each stage and clearing out a solid portion of the dots but you don't need to literally memorize the paths turn for turn. But yeah still extremely helpful video. Thanks bro. (Edit) I should probably mention that I have an actual pac man machine so that may have possibly assisted in the ease with which I did this lol.

Mad respect for people who got this and got the platinum im not gonna worry about it 97% is good enough for me lol the controller has delays on my controller and sometimes unresponsive it was fun playing this game but im not gonna lose my mind over the hardcore version of this arcade type pac man Thank you for this guide i hope this helps many people
Literally the worst thing about this Trophy is the s*** PS4 controller.
The main problem is that sometimes the controls are unresponsive. Like you could hit the direction you want Pac-Man to go to but it won't respond sometimes.

YES!! You go right it goes down, you go up it goes left. Shit pisses me off.
For some reason the the steam port, the controls are unresponsive for the original Pac Man.

The Trophy is garbage either way, but the unresponsive controls make this ten times harder than it needs to be. For something that requires the precision of Pac-Man, the controls need to be TIGHT.

After roughly three weeks, I finally did this. I'm not a "trophy hunter", but I played the original version of PMW to death, so I got all of the other trophies fairly easily as a result. However, this one was a BITCH. It should have never been a trophy in this game. If it was simply the stand-alone version of original Pac-Man, I would totally get it. But, given that Pac-Man was included as a little bonus in the OG PMW, there should have only been a trophy for clearing like, a round of it - not nine. That's ridiculous.
Took me almost 4 hours, but I did it.

Awesome guide! Helped me get the platinum trophy. With Pacman being such a classic game and one that my parents played as children, I couldn’t let this one hold me back from the platinum. I ended up beating level 10 with this guide.
How the Fuck this is a silver instead of a gold is mind boggling. I knew when I got to this trophy it was gonna suck and probably get me stuck on earning that Platnium. Kudos to you dude. I’m trying but it’s getting frustrating the more and more I play. God it sucks to see 97% for your trophies and it’s just one dumb trophy holding you back. At least let me contra code and get 30 lives lol.

There is an exploit with the ghost behavior that was coded in the original Pacman if you know it this challenge is easy.

Finally got the Retrogamer trophy after 2 days of practicing. It was tough as I entered lvl 9 with 2 lives and passed it on my last life.
3 hours of pain but i did it, thank you so much.

Consegui depois de umas 3 horas tentando, deixo o meu comentário para os BR's que estão buscando a platina:
Fase 1 - Faça o seu próprio caminho
Fases 2 a 4 - É preciso seguir um caminho específico igual ao vídeo (detalhe é que pode ter algumas variações bem no meio da fase, na parte de pegar a fruta 2:35 o maldito fantasma laranja pode vir de frente, então você contorna por baixo e segue o mesmo caminho).
Fases 5 a 9 - Também é recomendado seguir o caminho do vídeo (Aqui também há uma variação nessa parte 4:26, pode acontecer do fantasma laranja aparecer no meio do caminho, você pode voltar só um pouco para não trombar com ele, e depois voltar e seguir o caminho).
Seguindo essa estratégia e observando essas variações passei até da fase 10.
Agora vou platinar a versão de PS4.
Memorização realmente é chave para vitória

My First Attempt Successfully On The PS5 While Playing The PS4 Version Of This Game Yesterday
It's a silly accomplishment, however with this guide was how I was able to get it. Good luck to the next ones who try. (Approximate time it took me to get it out: 1 week), it's a matter of trial and error until you learn the routes
Nice balance on achievement difficulty
To make the game easy to win: I recommended to keep pausing whenever Ghosts is nearly or use the eyes to move so you won't pass them and avoid those speedy Ghosts.
He gave Pinky a quick little kiss at 6:58 then turned in the opposite direction 🤣

I’ve been at it with this piece of shit for 12 hours straight. Finally got to the 9th round and blew it. Even watching this guide as I played, I’m so conflicted whether or not to continue or just give up. Only have 8 plats on my record but this is by far the hardest/worst I’ve yet to accomplish.

The red and blue one likes to follow and won't stop until you lose them and sometimes they like to team up and corner you and the pink one tries to get up ahead of you to catch you I'm not quite sure what the yellow one does yet
Does anyone have any tricks to memorise the route? It's kinda hard to remember it all and pausing to see what's next causes minor delays which ruin the whole thing.

Really hate this trophy, the game was really easy and to just throw this SILVER trophy at you is really shitty. You basically have to learn the ins and outs of the original Pac-man to get the trophy.
Good thing this strategy clears out most of the dots and you can find your own path after clearing out the middle

Interesting; I'm gonna try this strategy next time, since mine's isn't really working. Also, another thing that sucks about this old game, is that it seems you get just 1 extra life. I've gotten past 20000 and 30000 points, but wasn't rewarded with another life.

I did this but improvised the moves a little bit and got my high score up to 108,000 and got to level 15 before I died
On Steam, it's the most rarest achievement in the game. Is it the case on every other system ? I wouldn't doubt if it was the case.

I believe Clyde's path can vary a bit due to RNG, but other than that the patterns are the same.
