it was one of the best knife restorations I've watched. especially the part where you made a wooden handle was very good . I'm looking forward to the next video with excitement . ❤️👍
@@lostandrestored I'm not critisizing you efforts at all. Very cool little knife the problem is mainly those are 3$ at the swap meet and sometimes even less in perfect shape/condition..
Awesome restoration awesome work , but the threaded end cap is a giveaway that it’s not a 1900s knife my friends and I used to buy these at flee markets every summer for like $5 and play with them all summer till they broke or we lost them lol definitely some nostalgia for me !
Looks like a knife I lost in the late 80s as a kid. My Dad, Grandpa & me were hunting morels, when we got back to the truck my dagger was gone. Sad day but we did find a bunch of morels so I guess it was worth it.
You have no idea how happy it makes me to see that you actually restored it and not just reused the blade, you returned to the knife to its former glory. Amazing work also!
This reminds me of a boot knife I bought out of the back of Boys Life when I was a scout in the ‘90’s. I loved that knife! Couldn’t take it on any camp outs because it wasn’t regulation. Not sure where I put it, probably lost it in a move.
Good restoration I actually had one of those boot knives back in the early 90's it was garbage testing its strength tried to puncture a tire and it just snapped
Yeah this isn't from the 60's, ut was made in Pakistan in the 1980's + and you can still get then today. The welded on rat tail tang is kind of a dead giveaway.
@@francissobotka8725 what i ment is when the Dagger was being made the tang was to short and there was an extra piece of metal added you can see it when he takes the handle off.
I had one of these, they were fairly common years ago when i got one, sadly mine was a fairly cheap Chinese thing. I bought it for about £10 at a steam rally/fair when i was around 13yo :) Knife used to fall to bits all the time, the pommel used to come loose very often.
This Dagger isn't actually from the 1960's. These have been made in Pakistan since the 80's and are still available today for under $20 at many flea markets and discount cutlery retailers like BudK. At least it came out looking better than it would have when new, they are just not made or finished well at all.
Anyone have any idea what happened to original handle? Is that water damage or… (Also beautiful work!! I really love the way the pitting in the blade adds character and contrast to the nice shiny metal :o
I had one of those way back in the early 90's, the metal was softer than baby shit and would not hold an edge for long at all.... In fact I've done farts that lasted longer than the edge on that knife did 🤣🤣😂😂
Excellent work, but wasted on such a terrible piece of junk. I have the exact same knife and knew it was poorly made, but seeing you take it apart just showed it's even worse than I'd thought.
You did as good a job restoring the knife as almost anybody could, but I don't know why you bothered. This is a very thin steel, rat tail tang knife with very heavy pitting. Really not worth your time or trouble to restore it.
I watch an enormous amount of restoration videos. I have to say that yours are some of the best. Thank you
We all need to pitch in and get this guy a blasting cabinet and a bench grinder! Nice work👍🏻👍🏻
We must teach him that the rear side of a vise is NOT the one where the screw handle is .
You should restore that red vice next!

That is awesome work restoring that knife.
Looks great, well done chief!! 👍
Great restoration!
i remember these good for the price of the knife back then Very nice restore !
From rustling to cool knife 🔪
He’s great artist!!!
Rusting *
I like how it feels old even restored...
Cool project 👍 and beautiful result, like it 👍
I'm glad you liked it. It turned out better than I thought with so much metal rusted away.

Excellent restoration, it's great to restore history.
Outstanding!
amazing restoration dear i love it

I was just going to say the same thing. Made in Pakistan.
It might have been made in the 90s. That would be 1900s if you go by the common usage of the term 1900s
Im from Argentina and i have the exact same dagger...i've always assumed that it was my fathers letters opener
Got the same one myself in the uk that I got from a flee market and it was £5
Looks lvly sir good👍👍job dun their sir nice work

I had dozens of those daggers, they were cheap Pakistani knives from the 90's about 10$. Still well done, great job restoring it.
Nice job restoring it looks great!!
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Great video
Well done.

6:18 I'm subscribing to your channel because you use the same kind of pencil I do!
It's nicely done, but why have you not sanded off the black holes? Or filled them and than sand it?
Belíssima

I Have that exact knife.
The short and long versions.

Not my favorite kind of knife but still a very nice restoration 🙂

Muito satisfatório❤🇧🇷
I agree :]
👏👏👏👏👏👏
The restored handle looked great. Too bad there wasn't more that could be done to make the blade look better.
Yeah, the blade is so thin now it’s good to open up envelopes.
I bought same knife in the late 70s 80s, brand new really cheap , your way out with that date .............
they've made them since the 50s and still do today exactly the same
@@michaelmatthews2759 what brand is it
I did a restoration of this same knife
отчухать от ржи, поправить, ручку обмотать синей изолентой - и еще послужит.

I had a pos knife like that when I was a teenager. That worthless little tang snapped right off.
What type of polir paste did you use?
like.
Looks like its based on a Fairbairn-Sykes.
That's a $5 dagger from the flea market
Hmm, pitted blade with a welded on tang that look ready to snap...

Sapı cok tombul yaptın kardeş🇹🇷
That is a Pakistani 440 knife produced in the 1990s... the effort to "restore" it could have produced two of them.
Hey that old knife looks EXACTLY like a cheap 15 dollar knife I bought my kid on Amazon. Weird.
What’s it called I like the style and wouldn’t mind buying one for mine
На месте рукояти проверенная проволка можно было сделать толще стержень рукояти
looks like a pirate knife
Я звичайно все розумію, але. Що в дідька в тебе робе коробка з Укрпошти???

Its a boot dagger from the 80' made in Pakistán
похоже на нож для вскрывания конвертов
Strog work.... Great
Handle looks a little wide

Why would you spray water over a diamond sharpening stone

I had a dagger like that once, I can't remember if an ex-girlfriend or the ex-wife put it in my back.

I think putting shiny brass and a finished wooden handle on a beat up old blade just doesn't work.
I prefer beat up personally, but new hardware on an old blade is nice too

рукоять я бы сделал тоньше.
Quit watching as soon as he put the vise handle over the table and not the free end.
With how my camera mounts, the vice would stick out too far and you wouldn’t see the shot.
You're buying cheap knives from Amazon and leaving them in bleach to corrode them.

Why?
Its a common cheap Pakistani knife
sorry but feel like kinda.. half baked restoration...,the blade is still... "like that"?
That is not a 1900 knife. That is a 1980 or later made in Pakistan knife. I mean you did nice work but let's be honest here.
though deceptive 1980 was in the 1900s
