    I shocked this Italian teacher with how well I could understand her! I even formed a few sentences in Italian at the end - using only what she taught me in our short lesson and my knowledge of Spanish. I was surprised at just how helpful my Spanish was in understanding Italian, proving even further the doors that learning even just one language can open for you. Let me know if you learned any new words in Italian by watching me, a fluent Spanish speaker, try to understand Italian!
    Thank you for watching, you're awesome :) New videos every Saturday.
    👋 Hola, I'm Nate. I used to not know any Spanish at all, and I had no interest in learning the language. I thought learning Spanish would be boring, a waste of time, and would provide no value to my life. Then I started taking Spanish classes in high school and everything changed for me. I struggled with learning the language a lot at first, but thanks to my teachers and my Spanish speaking friends, they helped make the learning process fun. Within a few months, I had gotten to a conversational level, but more important, I had become a more confident person. The real win for me, though, was the friendships I made and strengthened. I discovered that not only did I have higher self esteem, but being out in the real world with people, whether old friends or new ones I met, made me feel more alive and connected with the world around me. Now it's my goal to create videos that make you smile and inspire you to learn Spanish or another language!

    I definitely couldn't understand almost anything when she spoke Italian. I thought Italian was easier for me to understand because I'm native Spanish speaker.
    It was very fun and interesting.

    Nate, not sure if youve ever watched La Reina Del Sur w Kate Del Castillo, but your accent and cadence reminds me of one of the characters, Epifanio Vargas, its honestly scarily similar

    I wonder if the word "scherzo" derives from the German word "(der) Scherz"

    • @Miggy19779
      @Miggy19779 27 дней назад

      Probably related yes, Scherzo comes from a lombardic, a germanic language. scherzo (“joke, play”), from scherzare (“to joke, jest”), from Lombardic *skerzan (“to jump merrily, enjoy oneself, jest”), from Proto-Germanic *skertaną (“to hop, jump”), from Proto-Indo-European *(s)kerǝd- (“to dance, jump”). Akin to Middle High German scherzen (“to frolic, jump merrily, hop up and down”) (modern German scherzen (“to joke”), Scherz), Norwegian skjerta (“to joke”).

    Nate, if you study a bit of latin noun cases you'll understand the Italian plurals. The various romance languages seem to have favored different cases.
    Btw English plurals are no better. For example: man, men, brother, brothers, child, children, goose, geese, mouse, mice, wolf, wolves, antenna, antennae, deer (can be singular or plural).
