Today we reflected on our last video together in which she taught me Colombian slang. She also shared even more about Colombian culture, food, and we even discussed what it is like to date outside of one's own culture. 👋 Hola, I'm Nate. I used to not know any Spanish at all, and I had no interest in learning the language. I thought learning Spanish would be boring, a waste of time, and would provide no value to my life. Then I started taking Spanish classes in high school and everything changed for me. I struggled with learning the language a lot at first, but thanks to my teachers and my Spanish speaking friends, they helped make the learning process fun. Within a few months, I had gotten to a conversational level, but more important, I had become a more confident person. The real win for me, though, was the friendships I made and strengthened. I discovered that not only did I have higher self esteem, but being out in the real world with people, whether old friends or new ones I met, made me feel more alive and connected with the world around me. Now it's my goal to create videos that make you smile and inspire you to learn Spanish or another language!

I like the fact that there are no English subtitles unless you choose to have them. When they are on the video, it makes it hard for me to focus on the Spanish
She is such a charming and beautiful woman. Wish she was my teacher!

Lol Natalia is way easier to understand for a learner than nate, Natalia is speaking a little slow like in her dreaming spanish videos, which is nice for learners

Unfortunately I’m not so well up on my Spanish so without subtitles it’s no good for me
The best way to acquire Spanish is Comprehensive Input without subtitles. Subtitles only get in the way and slow you right down. Try Dreaming Spanish. I swear by it. You won’t regret it.
You can always turn on the auto translate subtitles! And if this is too advanced for you, there’s loads of beginner and intermediate content online
yeah, what durb said. You will never learn if you just use subtitles forever. After enough time it starts to feel the same as Englsih. At least for me it feels exactly the same 99.9 percent of the time.
