I think I've found my new favorite guitar player... Its simply amazing what these young players (Thomas Viloteau, Andrea de Vitis, Xavier Jara etc) can do with the guitar nowadays. Its miles ahead of anything I've heard before. The most incredible thing is that personality and musicality are now combined with a sublime technique and precision. It allows for very fresh interpretations of old classics. These are exciting times for classical guitar fans.

They must not have eyes and ears lol.. Seriously though I get what you mean.. I can play his waltz in D n G and La Cathedral,, Haven't attempted this piece, but on the whole people do definitely not fully understand the complexity'involved unless they play themselves

Good ear, I'm learning this song as we speak. And also could help to notice some missing notes. All in all beautiful. I wish more music these days required talent like this. Not someone acting like playing there playing & letting a machine do all the work
Beautiful song. I used to watch this over & over. And I used to think this version was perfect. But after months & months of practicing this song. I now realize how far from the truth this is. I'm bout 70 percent through learning this song. And if you can believe it I've been practicing on steel strings (regular acoustic). And plan on posting my first classical songs on youtube. I have mad respect for this guy playing this. Because this song IMO this song was a complete nightmare to learn. Maybe Raphael rushed & learned this song to do this, who know's. He very talented. Don't know if anyone else out there has learned this song & if so what did they think of this video. PS I'm sure by now he has this song in the bag
Sir! This is just gorgeous! I think getting the melody to "stand out" is nearly impossible on this and many other 'Nitsuga' pieces, but you have done it, and made it to seem somehow too easy. It is wonderful to hear such an amazing interpretation!
Raphael is the real deal. Amazing tone, interpretation, and breath to every note played. Agustin is such a treasure, clearly why Segovia hated him. Raph’s brilliance is in the notes that aren’t played, the space in which these voids are found feel like breath when he plays.
