    I love these podcasts. They make my entire day honestly. I didn't know Corey and Kalei took requests! I'd love to hear them play Avatars Love. It was one of the first songs I learned on ukulele and I know they'd knock it out of the park.

    Wonderful instruments. Also, it was so much fun to watch the video of your time in Indonesia. Saya sangat senang lihat! I'm going to be saving up for an Oli and/or a Pono because I want to support your work in Indonesia, a country where I have deep interest and connections.

    Three generations of amazing craftmanship, skill, and aloha in Ko'olau from John, to Noah and Andrew, to Taj! I want one of those thin lines! Would be great for every day jamming, running around with, and easy to plug in for some busking! I want to try a bit of busking a shot this year if I can maintain the courage (and memorize enough songs in time) :D
    And I loved watching the vid on the tour of their workshop--relaxing, amazing jams by Kalei, and true love and enthusiasm from the Genta team

    Lovely playing! The O.C. Bear guitar is a very special piece and built by a wonderful man. Praying it raises a lot of money for the people of Lahaina. ❤️ Love from Ohio

    Always laid back entertainment that r3veals true artistry in the playing and tge instruments. Really liked the Oli mango baritone because it had clarity warmth and depth without sounding like a guitar. Not easy to accomplish.

    Some curious about torrefication:
    Does the body also need to be torrefied or just the Top/soundboard?
    It's actually in the context of having a Cedar top instrument in which I read (and please correct me if I'm wrong) that a Cedar top is already at its best state tonally since day 1 and do not need to be aged unlike other tonewoods which still slowly opens up the more you play it. So was thinking like whether torrefying the sides still has a huge impact when the top is Cedar. 🤔

    • @HawaiiMusicSupplyTUS
      @HawaiiMusicSupplyTUS  5 месяцев назад +2

      Torrefication accelerates aspects of the aging process. The biggest difference would be the soundboard but it can have benefits on the back and sides.

      Wow, I’m surprised that anyone would say anything like this about this store. They are everything that any store/business should strive to be. It’s sad for anyone to be accusing them to be “overpriced as hell”. Not only is it false, but so offensive.

      @@margielandis2015 Honestly some of the fanciest ones are not to my taste, I wouldn't buy them. But that doesn't mean they are overpriced. If the market will bear $2k or 5k koa ukuleles, then that's what people charge for them and that's what they are "worth". Some people got money to burn I guess.... I'd rather they buy ukuleles than most other things rich people buy. I spent about 1.5k on a Pono, but it is my only ukulele, and my car is also probably worth about 1.5k so....... shrug emoji. I bought the instrument that matches my ability. It was worth every dollar and I have no regrets :D
