Humanoid robots are getting amazing. The ability to easily turn in place is a true technological challenge and the pose after 3:30 requires a remarkable flexibility of the joints. However, what amazed me most was that the robot can step sidewards without any visible problems. I may be wrong but it seems to me that this is a capability that (at least with this ease) no other humanoid robot has showcased so far.
now just imagine connecting such a robot to the internet and making it possible for the robot to update and download its own information as needed for directions and functions...insane!!!
one thing that the robot industry (humanoids specifically) should consider doing is focussing on the mechanics of walking, etc. with the humanoid robot and having all the computing power done seperately (with a giant computer away from the robot) with information transmitted via electronic sensory parts.
List of things to do: 1) give it a metal skull for a head 2) Give it shiny, protruding joints with no plastic coverage 3) Give it an Austrian accent 4) Give it a gun perfect.
@meiotta Not 100% sure if this one can, but its predecessor could. There is a video of it here on RUclips. I'd bet that if the old one can, this one can. It may only be a matter of loading the "get up" algorithm into this robot.
the fighting stance looked a little subliminal.... I wonder if this is like a police / military concept of a hand to hand combats system/weaponry application being tested here. I can only imagine what the upgrades will be like in the next few years... good science and technology heading into the hands of bad intentions...

What can this new robot do that the girl-robot on the far right cannot? They both look very sophisticated. Can the new one do stairs, uneven floors, or soft surfaces like carpet or grass? Can it "run" with both feet off the ground at the same moment?
@Nomoreidsleft It's because walking is such a complex motion, it's simple to organic life, but requires billions of calculations and hundreds of regulating motions for robots, as such, we should tackle efficient walking before they can do useful things, besides, who wants a handicapped robot slave?
I wish in the future everyone had a robot and that robot could do there job for them, like work and make money for them while the owner does what he wants.
How an AI would conduct itself is dependent on the base programing. All technology that is beneficial for intelligence gathering or hard and soft target destruction is created or adopted by the military. So buy default this technology will be used for intelligence, destruction and killing.
when we can fit all robot pieces in a human body size... than it is just a question of anatomy and robotics working togheter with some physicists... and we can make robots that walk juust like us.
The syi fi moves of 20-30 years ago are today's reality. Star wars came out when no one new what a laser was. Now we have autonomous missile defense laser platforms on aircraft carriers and battle ships. Make one one these robots mil spec and give it a top notch AI and you will have a Terminator. See, it is you that should watch more reality )8^)
im watching this to observe how the robots moves so i can associate it with my lockings/robotics dances, instead of tryin to learn other dancers' moves... & im sure no one is greater than doing the robot moves than the robots...
