I see myself a lot in Izzy in some ways, and from my perspective, I would say that he feels intimidated by Stacy's money and sucess and he probably feel unworthy. How are you supposed to tell that to someone you know damn well is gonna judge you? It's not easy.... But I feel like with Johnie, he probably felt like they had a similar walk of life and felt comfortable to talk about such a delicate subject

Believe it or not the ONLY person I enjoy is Milton. Is he immature? Sure, he’s 24 years old. He has a lot of life to live HOWEVER he’s the only people that seems to genuinely himself. He’s not putting on a show. He’s extremely honest and forward with Lydia. He doesn’t allow himself to be bullied either and you have to respect that, unlike Izzy.

But if your personality or way of being can be improved and people suggest ways to improve but your response is, I want to be loved for who I am. Then you have lost any opportunity to complain about the other shortcoming because they also deserve to be loved for who they are.
Dude- Stacy and Izzy are super mean drunks, and Uche makes crazy Lydia actually look sane because of how overt his narcissism is. Also, nobody there deserves Chris. As even a friend. He's too good for them all.

I was fully prepared to be really concerned about Lydia until Uche kept talking and now I'm fairly convinced she's not unstable at all---that he weaves webs of lies and chaos and then projects blame and accountability outward. I do think she's a bit much (Milton's assessment of bossy feels right lol) but I think he's probably a nightmare to deal with. Also noting that it sounds like she had a major death in her life at around the time she was dating Uche, and I know how narcissists can be with things like that. He would not have been the 'hero' he is painting himself as: he would have taken full advantage of her vulnerability.
I've heard that Chris was in a relationship prior to the show and stopped it once casted. Soooo he may not be as innocent as he comes across.

I agree and I think Stacy is jealous that Johnnie still ended up winning because she got a man who’s not only attractive but is probably more financially stable then Izzy and at the very least pays for dinner. I felt the same way too. I kinda connected the dots when johnnie said that Stacey changed the way she spoke to izzy based on what johnnie told her. Because johnnie figured they were dating the same person much later. She definitely put on a fun facade there. She's very high maintenance and should've been honest. The weddings were very dramamatic, except one couple because we knew confidently that they would say yes. It wasn’t just Jackie and Irina. It was nearly the entire cast and even cast members that didn’t make it on the show. This season, the couples barely last long enough for there to a lot of drama. I mean come on, only 2 couples??

Every single person will have something to say, unlike s4 where tiffany and brett who were silent the whole time. There are literal arguments having between people who didn't even make it out of the pods, when has that ever happened before? I prefer last season much more than this one bc at least in last season i was rooting for ppl, but this season has tons more drama.

Was no one else shocked by how Stacey handled Izzy saying she doesnt make him feel good enough? She seemed annoyed and fed up at him vulnerably expressing himself and it was heartbreaking to see - I am in no way an Izzy fan (in fact, i don't like him (or at least how he's been presented) at all), I was just really stunned by Stacey's seemingly callous reaction like that

I wasn't shocked because I know she was done with this man from the moment she saw those paper plates. She's treating him like she doesn't think he's good enough because she doesn't believe he's good enough. She's just killing time until she can leave him at the altar. And once you realize that, what is she supposed to say when he points out that he thinks she feels about him the exact way she obviously does feel about him? "Sorry sweetie, I'll try better to hide my disdain and judgement for another week."
I had a completely different take on that.
Stacy is a very strong woman with lots of masculine energy. She needs a man who “out masculines her masculine” if you follow what I mean. His crying and feeling sorry for himself clearly turned her off in a moment where he needed to stand up, admit his mistakes in life like a man, and offer his solution to move forward. He would have saved face instead of seeming “weak” IMO.

Someone crying doesn't necessarily mean feeling sorry for onself, and when he was crying, it seemed more to be out of distress and the reasonable sadness when feeling unappreciated. "Like a man" only perpetuates toxic masculinity and patriarchal ideals. We shouldn't imply men crying is in any way bad, especially given the prevalence of male suicide and given our society being one that often shames vulnerable men. I do feel like Stacy has traditional and misogynistic expectations on gender and gender roles and that should be condemned

This season has made me so angry so many times. I'm so happy it's ending soon.
When he talked about her and her family being emotional to his sister, it seemed like a plus for him since his own family is emotionless. I think he disconnected from her during the family situation because as his mom later mentioned, that is the baby boy of the fam and they teach him as such. He is 24 so just recently displaying man characteristics to his strong willed mother.

I just read a People article that says another couple (Paige Tillman and Josh Simmons) fell in love in the pods and were even planning their wedding! I'm amazed why production decided to just focus on the drama of two couples versus giving us hope in this show.

Uche forgets that he also lied by omission to Milton by not saying he dated Lydia so how is Milton supposed to trust him? Eh, I’ll be honest. I don’t care about love stories. I want something very different than real life, so entertaining drama is way more preferable.
That being said, I do wonder about ratings and how that drives their decision-making. Cleary they learned some drama is better than no drama.

I think it’s responsible to ask financial questions before one gets married. Just like one should declare what’s important and deal breakers well before getting hitched. Plenty of marriages end due to finances.

She didn't win anything. Then Johnnie shows up with a kinder, more stable, more attractive man on her arm and in a much healthier situation than Izzy and Stacy are in and they are both jealous. Izzy tries to convince her she's trash and everyone hates her because he's mad she moved on and is happy when she should be sobbing in the dirt where he left her and Stacy hates Johnnie for the attention she's getting from Izzy because negative attention is still attention and if he cares enough to attempt to destroy her relationship with Chris, he's still into her.

I agree with this and feel the exact same way!! When Izzy confronted (and pretty much berated) her about what she told him vs Chris, she was honest and didn't deny anything. I really respected that- it's refreshing on the show as we're so used to people lying when confronted that way. She also seemed sincere in explaining how she reflected on what she told Izzy and it informed how she communicated with Chris. She didn't lie.
I also appreciated her telling Lydia that Uche was very convincing, I appreciate how she didn't placate Lydia by lying and saying she didn't believe Uche etc. just to please Lydia. I appreciated her honesty - essentially being all "i want to understand the truth of the situation because Uche gave a compelling case"

What’s even worse in Izzy’s case is that he told johnie about at least some of his financial situation. In the first few episodes when he breaks up with her and chooses Stacie, there’s a comment made by johnnie to the camera where she says that relationship won’t work out once Stacie finds out about Izzy’s finances. So he did share at least some of his a history with her but not Stacie, probably because he knows Stacie would probably not accept the proposal. He waited until she was in too deep to finally mention it. That’s intentionally withholding information. I don’t see them getting married, not with the expectations Stacie has for their lifestyle.
Stacy is coming off as a pick me. Like at this point I really think she’d listen to what johnnie was saying and then go in the pods and act exactly like who Izzy wanted. Don’t like her. I think there is some cultural nuance missing here, Miriam clearly has expressed on TikTok and I’m sure to uche her living situation and business. I think Miriam is the only one who sees Uche for who he truly is because she’s dealt with men like him before like she said I ain’t going to cry. Uche only talked to the women he thought he could tear down, and why would he let all the other women talk even if it wasn’t in favor of him but Miriam… a women from his own cultural background that can rip into him and speak truth.
I don't know how I feel about this season. On the one hand the drama is hilarious and on the other it's a little depressing because the only couple that feels genuine to me, Lydia and Milton, has all that Uche drama in the mix. What was hilarious in the previous episodes now just feels sad, especially because Stacey and Izzy are impossible to root for at this point. Like...they're kinda perfect together but I can't stand them because of how hateful they were to Jonnie. I get that she said something hurtful about their relationship, but she was hurting from rejection at the time and it's not uncommon for someone to get a bit petty in a scenario like that, but at the party she didn't initiate any conflicts. The girl was just attacked and called sketchy when the whole reason Izzy dumped her was because he couldn't handle her emotional baggage, which in my personal opinion is not only sketchy but shows a lack of emotional maturity as well as empathy. Jonnie dodged a bullet on that. These episodes were a little tough to sit through. But I am looking forward to seeing what comes next week. Stacy´s dad talking about money like that is weird, Izzy not having a credit card, also weird -- the producers of the show should do a background check including credit history... I don´t know, I think Izzy said no and MIlton said no. Nobody is getting married... Lucky for me, we had a great season 3 of Love is Blind Brazil in which 4 couples got married and are still married - they were actually very compatible and the formula of the show worked... This US version of season 5 is a train wreck, hot mess, rotten empanada... I don´t even think they should do a reunion episode...

Don't be fooled, Izzy is only telling Stacey to keep it cool because he likes to "rail" people in private where he can later deny the worse of his behaviour and gets to shrug it off / minimize it. Stacey made the mistake of showing her true feelings in front of witnesses. Later in the episode, the man said it turned him on to see Stacey "rail" Johnie. You even showed that clip! (Side note, it's incredibly creepy and borderline violent to hear the way these two brag about "railing" Johnie. it's sadistic.)
Like her or not, Johnie was staying in her lane during that party. She did not initiate or seek out confrontation. But Stacey has the audacity to say that she doesn't even look at Johnie, doesn't think of her because she's a "trash person". Do Izzy and Stacey not understand there are cameras present and we can see them doing the exact thing they'll immediately deny at the slightest push back? (From Chris, from the other women at the party).
Re: Lydia and "controlling emotions". Do you realize that saying "control your emotions" is a super common way men use to shut women up and diminish their experiences or perceptions? I remember you calling out sexist patterns from the men on the Bachelorette, but I haven't seen you do the same with this season of Love is Blind despite Uche, Izzy, JP and now Milton falling into a lot of sexist tropes in the way they speak to and about the women around them.
Someone on another channel's comments said Uche's attitude is like dropping a live grenade into a conversation only to step back and say "look at how she's overreacting, look at my crazy ex and how emotional she is". To me, Uche and Izzy in particular are instigators who like to rile up their exes only to mock them for reacting to their provocation. But because they're soft spoken and articulate, and claim to be emotionally mature, the men around them give them a chance to explain themselves. It's exhausting and frustrating to witness, and I can't imagine how much worse it would be to experience.

Ok so I'm no Psychologist, but I've gone to therapy and I see a lot of myself in Stacy... What Stacy seems to do a lot is called "Filtering". Mental Filtering occurs when people struggle to see the whole picture and can only focus on the negative. Stacy has a tendency to discredit the gestures Izzy does for her and lasers in on the ONE thing he doesn't do. Izzy brought her flowers and said it would be his weekly ritual, she in turn focuses on the fact that he doesn't cook for her. They both ripped Johnnie apart and seemed to be having a good night until he made the comment about being glad he chose her instead of Johnnie, now she can only focus on that statement and her night is instantly ruined. Just my observation thanks to therapy!
I would also add that Stacy seems very emotionally closed when Izzy was crying for example it was telling by her facial reaction and her response. Izzy and her are not a good fit, Stacy is not able to be as vulnerable as Izzy and Izzy even mentioned that back in the pods. Izzy needs a woman who he can be emotional with (nothing wrong with that) and Stacy just ain't it

What got to me was Milton's family including his mom and sister, because they were being realistic about his relationship with Lydia. Stacy is being unappreciative to Izzy due to the fact that his being genuine and vulnerable but her expectations is giving materialism. As a result no one is getting married here.
Milton with relationship experience has a potential to turn to a fine man. He might finally realise that the opposites in the relationship is more fun than boring similarities if he will learn to appreciate and to respect the character of his partner, seeing it as a advantage not the opposite.
My husband and I kept saying, "He's showing his age, BUT..." in the latest episode. We married younger than he is and looking back, that seems WILD but we navigated it together and made a lot of space for the other person to grow. He already seems to have a good foundation, so I agree.
