This season I'm like that girl in Mean Girls. I'm spending about 80% of my time talking about Heartstopper, and the other percent of the time, I'm praying for someone else to bring it up so I could talk about it more. 😅
So much of this second season has hidden thank yous to the fans and the internet at large in it. Even though the underlying themes this year are decidedly heavier, they're still handled with nothing but compassion, warmth, and patience as Heartstopper always does. Thank you, JRL, for your passionate, heartfelt reaction.
Yeah, it is still pretty surreal to me this type of representation exists now for young kids and I am all here for it! Cannot express my gratitude enough for Alice and everyone involved in this production for making such a wonderful show and story.

It should be no surprise that I binged the whole season yesterday, but no spoilers. I agree that Kit's physical size this season better matches what I expected from reading the web-comic (& books). 3:56 I noticed also that Kit looks like he grew a little bit more. S1 it looked like he was barely taller than Joe. I know Kit was working out/lifting weights a lot before filming S2. I think it bothered him that in that books, Nick is a "big, rugby lad." I think Kit wanted to look more like Nick in the books.

Must add, very favorite moment of E1 - maybe of the entire series - is the scene in the locker room, Charlie has just gifted Nick with the chocolate bar, and Nick leans in to Charlie, forehead touching forehead, and Nick ever so gently, ever so lovingly, ever so romantically says, "thank you." 🥹 I totally melted! Oh, Kit Connor, what a truly amazing actor you are. It is a moment like this, and others from both seasons, why his Emmy and RTS award wins were so well-deserved. And major props to Joe, as well - his level of acting, SO impressive in S1, is just another level in S2, he so embodies Charlie through every movement and phrase, and I think he is going to be a force to be reckoned with during awards season. One final note: love how Alice has shown us more of the parents - now we see more clearly the difficult relationship Charlie has with his Mom that's been alluded to in the graphic novels. The actress who plays her, Georgina Rich, is excellent and Joe mentions in one of his recent interviews that the conflict scenes between Charlie and his parents were one of his favorites to shoot in S2. Also, was thrilled to see more of the teacher characters, especially my favorite of those, Miss Singh. Absolutely terrific and lovely scene later in the series between Nick and her! I do hope they bring her back for S3. Thanks again, Jackie, and looking forward to your coverage of the remaining episodes. x
I wish Alice hadn't removed the part where Charlie's parents are happy for him before going into the hanky panky stuff. There was always going to be drama with episode 2. As is, his parents felt pretty cold, even his dad a bit who was warmer last season. I know his mom has issues but she still has her moments.

Hi again - When I was in secondary school we rarely had time set aside for revision (and I am a lot older than most Heartstopper fans, I am 38) - we just revised at home, or on our breaks. I think this was Alice finding a way of putting Nick and Ben together, as Nick would avoid Ben at all cost if he wasn't forced to sit next to him. So a little bit of dramatic license maybe from Alice to get them two to sit, so Ben can pour his poison into Nick's ear.

Someone probably already commented this but the book Isaac is reading is Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-íyímídé! It’s described as being a cross between Gossip Girl and Get Out. It’s set in an old posh school, where 2 of the only black students get targeted by a anonymous person. It’s very mysterious and very gay! Would recommend!
I was briefly puzzled at the 2-month anniversary: their first kiss at the party was March 20, so this episode would have to begin May 20. Does that match the schedule for the start of study halls for GCSEs in the UK?

I have been collecting the webcomic and I think its almost complete. (book 5 comes out in december). I even had it bound. I am still gonna buy the book to support Alice of course. I just couldnt wait that long. I even designed a custom cover for it. (till the official one comes out of course). I am just pleased there will be a 6th book and a season 3.

Last night I was never more nervous to watch a TV show - I sat down and watched all of season two - I don't think a TV show has made me cry more than season two of Heartstopper. What a season - the acting has gone up a gear - the quality of production was just superb - what a season!

Imogen just goes from Strength to strength in this series, especially in Paris where she channels a cross between Cher Horowitz in clueless and Elle Woods from legally Blonde
I read the graphic novels... I watched the whole of season 2 yesterday (no spoilers in this comment) ... I don't feel like I was ready... and I don't know how I feel after the season (which doesn't imply something negative... it is just sitting heavy with me... I feel like SO MUCH happened this season... I have to watch it another million times)
I know it’s a joyous show, but knowing the hurdles they go through makes it hurt. Seeing how this season is just volume 3, I know how their arcs swap because in the next season, Nick is going to be Charlie’s pillar. I haven’t seen the other episodes yet; just judging off of the graphic novels. It made me a little sad seeing Tori well up. Just the combination of Charlie’s words, the song, Tori’s worried look juxtapose with cuts of Nick’s golden retriever energy is foreboding. If only coming out was something that was easy or not a necessary thing. I still struggle with it. It’s exhausting and lots of mental gymnastics. Right now, worried about Imogen. Curious how this all unfolds.

The biggest surprise for me this season: LONGER EPISODES. I think it took me half the season to realize they where much longer.

Someone probably already commented this but the book Isaac is reading is Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-íyímídé! It’s described as being a cross between Gossip Girl and Get Out. It’s set in an old posh school, where 2 of the only black students get targeted by a anonymous person. It’s very mysterious and very gay! Would recommend!

@JackieRossLavender I couldnt wait that long, when Alice went on hiatus last year, (i understood the reason), i got upset having experienced season 1 and the books for the first time. I have been collecting the webcomic and I think its almost complete. (book 5 comes out in december). I even had it bound. I am still gonna buy the book to support Alice of course. I just couldnt wait that long. I even designed a custom cover for it. (till the official one comes out of course). I am just pleased there will be a 6th book and a season 3.

Last night I was never more nervous to watch a TV show - I sat down and watched all of season two - I don't think a TV show has made me cry more than season two of Heartstopper. What a season - the acting has gone up a gear - the quality of production was just superb - what a season!

@@TheoPhilpot I know how you feel - an emotional wreck I was at the end of it, especially the last episode. I don't know if you have watch all of it yet, so I don't want to spoil anything for anyone, but those last minutes of the last episode was just emotional between Nick and Charlie.

I don't feel like I was ready... and I don't know how I feel after the season (which doesn't imply something negative... it is just sitting heavy with me... I feel like SO MUCH happened this season... I have to watch it another million times)

I know it’s a joyous show, but knowing the hurdles they go through makes it hurt. Seeing how this season is just volume 3, I know how their arcs swap because in the next season, Nick is going to be Charlie’s pillar. I haven’t seen the other episodes yet; just judging off of the graphic novels. It made me a little sad seeing Tori well up. Just the combination of Charlie’s words, the song, Tori’s worried look juxtapose with cuts of Nick’s golden retriever energy is foreboding. If only coming out was something that was easy or not a necessary thing. I still struggle with it. It’s exhausting and lots of mental gymnastics. Right now, worried about Imogen. Curious how this all unfolds.

Ummm honestly I would say Bathroom but I lived in the states for so long my vocab is a bit muddled. Toilet is definitely the more commonly used word though.
