@Metal King yeah book 2/ chapter 2 (if you’re going off of WEBTOON) is them going to Paris and meeting Nicks dad but also very sad because of what happens at the end of it
@Metal King Season 1 was most of Book 1 and 2. Season 2 should start right before the Paris Trip in Book 3, if she’s writing the screenplay in some kind of chronological order.

Nick has to be the actual best boyfriend in all of fiction. Every time we think that he’ll make a mistake to ruin the relationship, he takes a huge right turn and actually does something sweet or “correct” I guess.
Yeah, a lot of other shows would have taken all those opportunities to make him act like an asshole. I wish more shows would realize that you can have an exciting and interesting story line without the main characters having to make toxic choices
@@moonstone6164 Exactly!! It took me forever to watch this show, but I was genuinely surprised at every step of the way how maturely all of the characters were handled. Each and every one of them probably had a million chances to be an asshole and apart from a few exceptions (because plot has to plot) they all manage to stay as true to their characters as possible. Nick was probably as close to a perfect character as I’ve ever seen and somehow it didn’t make him boring or uninteresting, he was just extremely likable and you could believe that he really liked Charlie because he took every step he had to in order to prove that he did.

I literally watched five minutes and haven't gone back because he was walking into a classroom and I expected homophobia or general bullying. I guess I should go back and try again lol
I adore the fact that even though Nick spends the whole show - until right at the end - unsure and confused by his sexuality, he simultaneously spent the whole show being 100% sure about wanting to be with Charlie, even if it was seemingly platonic to him at first.
wow yes!! I would just like to point out that being bisexual doesnt mean u have to like both a guy and a girl it just means that whoever u develop a crush on could be anyone regardless of their gender. Also just because society tells you to be straight doesn’t mean u actually experience straight attraction until you “change your mind” bc it’s not a choice and it doesn’t work like that. 40:15 if you wanna know more about tori, she’s actually delved more in detail in Alice osemans first novel, solitaire !! They don’t really talk abt her in heartstopper, and solitaire is a really good read :) ( also tori is asexual, heteromantic, and on the aromatic spectrum :) )
The first season is roughly based on the first 2 graphic novels and so I'm going to suspect the next season will include volumes 3 and 4 of the graphic novels. Can't wait! Loved your reaction.
I think the next season is just book 3, because a lot more happens in that one than either of the first two. We’ve got the whole of Paris to explore and no doubt they’ll add even more because the show fleshes out the side characters a lot more than the books do
@@annatabner8459 this is what I was thinking too. We MIGHT get the lead up to the big three words (maybe finale of s2?). But with volume 4 being more journal-y, I suspect s3 will be volumes 4 and 5
@@agranosclem they could include the events of solitaire to bulk out the story a bit and stretch it to five seasons, and then we could get Michael Holden and Ben Hope gets what's coming to him
These little graphics are from the graphic novel they are so cute. Alice Oseman is the author of the graphic novel and wrote the script for the series + designed some of the background paintings and little gimicks
I'm so used with drama and angst and misunderstandings and plot twists that I almost forgot healthy and fluffy series like this exists I'm so happy that it made me stop eating unhealthy foods cus it feels illegal to watch the series while eating unhealthy foods 😩
Charlie's mom shows up briefly at the beginning of episode 4, just after Nick steps into the house out of the rain. She doesn't seem particularly nice.
She always struck me as controlling and has no idea how to deal with her children not acting like they should. Also she seems to need therapy to deal with somethings
@@vampbites89 Charlie's mom honestly reminds me of my own mom, at times, because they both don't know how to handle having a mentally ill child/teen (and adult, in my case. I'm 25.lol) and also I absolutely agree Charlie's mom needs therapy and also my own mom needs therapy.
This show is actually based on graphic novels/web comics which can be read online for free! Some of your projections for where the show would be going were a bit off lol… but you did notice some things that are definitely hints toward where the story goes. At any rate, this isn’t a typical tv show where it’s all about creating drama (although the show did add some vs the comics). It’s more of a character/relationship study.
I feel like it’s implied that tori is on the spectrum. That is also something I love about the show and it’s representation or possible representation. It’s unspoken and tori is allowed to just be herself and there’s no questioning of her or why she expresses herself a certain way while still showing her love for her brother her care and concern
Heartstopper is a web comic and is still ongoing (though it's currently on hiatus). It's centred on Charlie and Nick throughout so I imagine the series will be too. As for Charlie's sister Tori, ironically it all kind of started with her. She's the protagonist of Alice Oseman's first novel which takes place after Heartstopper. Alice fell in love with the characters of Nick and Charlie and so decided they wanted to tell their story as well. Tori having no emotion is pretty intentional. If you're interested in Solitaire I recommend it, it's a good novel but it does have some major spoilers for Heartstopper.
51:20 as much as I love the series adaptation, it is very watered down for younger viewers. I’m not going to mention any season 2 spoilers, but for season 1 the graphic novel is actually much darker on Charlie’s behalf. He struggles with self-harm, anxiety, eating issues (which is somewhat shown in this season when we never see him eat his lunch, breakfast, or the pizza Tori offers him), and depression symptoms, and he discusses these struggles with Nick.
every time sean makes a prediction in this video he's either expecting the absolute worst for these characters that everything is going to go wrong in every way possible, or he's absolutely dead on the head way before they've even hinted at that possibility
Love everything about this show, the acting is amazing, the way it’s filmed ü, how the storyline progresses so realistically like it’s not rainbows and sunshines the entire time but it’s also not overly dramatic with dozens of plot twists and what not. Love the representation of diversity in every way. Such a great show for teens, young adults and adults Also love that the characters are actually played by ppl the right age, it’s really not that hard to do
Season two is going to be largely about Charlie's mental health problems. Also Tori, Charlie's sister, has a book about her, and it's quite depressing, so yeah you're rightabout that.
Harry does actually get a redemption arc in the comics/book! The entire journey isn’t shown but in the comics he starts out with a half-assed apology to Nick and Charlie and then he slowly starts to stand up for them. In the book which takes place right before Nick goes to uni he’s actually quite supportive although still a little obnoxious and he dresses up in a cheerleader outfit for their last day at school lol
@@frederiquem6725 if you saw them say “he gets redemption arc” you could have stopped reading if you didn’t wanna know what happens. Its not that deep.
Charlie’s Mom did make an appearance, she told him to change out of his pajamas in Episode 4. Great reaction…you were dead on on a lot of your predictions. ☺️
The girls' school is Harold Greene Girls' School. They use Higgs as an abbreviation. The actress who plays Elle is trans. She's also been cast in the new Dr. Who season. She has a Tik Tok channel.
just fyi that season two is likely gonna be focused on charlie's mental health, elle and tao getting together, and their school trip to Paris. bc that's what happens next in the comic!
Fun fact. The badges on the blazers change from the seasons so for winter its a tree with no leaves summer is a tree with green leaves and im pretty sure the autumn one is a tree with orange leaves or like leaves falling off the tree but we haven't seen the autumn one yet

You've probably been told this a bajillion times by now but just in case; this is adapted from the Heartstopper webcomic/book series! I read Heartstopper since its very early days and was soo excited when the tv adaptation was announced. Alice Oseman is a treasure, her writing is wonderful and I just adore the characters she's created so much. But that's why there's little touches of graphic/comic like elements, like the leaves, stars, hearts, sparks etc! Edit: WHOOPS got to the end and you mention the book (there is several, yes) so guess you already knew xD
For season two they’re most likely going to cover books 3 and 4 because season one is books 1-2. Books 3-4 (Minor Spoilers) are a lot darker in regards to Charlie so I’m exited to see what they do for that season.
Please please react to Young Royals!! It‘s a gay romance teen series as well but way more serious than Heartstopper (: I absolutely adore this show and it would be cool to see your reaction to it 🙈

I think the next season is just book 3, because a lot more happens in that one than either of the first two. We’ve got the whole of Paris to explore and no doubt they’ll add even more because the show fleshes out the side characters a lot more than the books do
@@annatabner8459 can't wait! It's going to be fantastic
@@annatabner8459 this is what I was thinking too. We MIGHT get the lead up to the big three words (maybe finale of s2?). But with volume 4 being more journal-y, I suspect s3 will be volumes 4 and 5
@@agranosclem they could include the events of solitaire to bulk out the story a bit and stretch it to five seasons, and then we could get Michael Holden and Ben Hope gets what's coming to him
I have deliberately avoided looking ahead in the books. I don't want to know ahead of the next series.
She's...not. Her and Charlie get in a lot of arguments in the comics and books. So...they don't have a great relationship.
She also doesn't have a great relationship with Tori, showcased in Solitaire
@@TheRedPandaWhalther I've not read Solitaire...yet. Good to know it isn't JUST Charlie she has issues with. 😊
I'm 25.lol)
and also I absolutely agree Charlie's mom needs therapy and also my own mom needs therapy.
Bro really read Ben’s whole character in the first minute ☠️
Tory has her own storyline/book which was released before Heartstopper existed. So she is a full fletched character :)
I love the fact that he did an “am I gay quiz” Bc nearly every single gay questioning person Ik has done that 😂
it’s like a right of passage 😭
The quiz were more RUclips stories for me chile cuz I actually never took an Online quiz where they gave a percentage of how gay I am like wah?🤣.
😭😭😭 im pretty sure i got a similar answer to his when i was 17 hahaha
The same thing for watching coming out videos on RUclips- I was actually really glad that they included some real clips of those videos
💯
I love your take on Tori: How is she always there? Older sister magic.
Seeing you telling all the clichês and waiting for them just for them not to happen, love it.
This show is so well made.
LOLLLLL I know. We are ALL so traumatized from such terrible depictions of love. Just waiting for the other shoe to drop 😰
That's more of volume 4 which always makes me cry
You are naming things that are brought up in season 2 of the show AND show up much later in graphic novels (especially book 4)
every time sean makes a prediction in this video he's either expecting the absolute worst for these characters that everything is going to go wrong in every way possible, or he's absolutely dead on the head way before they've even hinted at that possibility
I think you might like Arcane, you could also binge watch it. Such a good show
Love everything about this show, the acting is amazing, the way it’s filmed ü, how the storyline progresses so realistically like it’s not rainbows and sunshines the entire time but it’s also not overly dramatic with dozens of plot twists and what not.
Love the representation of diversity in every way. Such a great show for teens, young adults and adults
Also love that the characters are actually played by ppl the right age, it’s really not that hard to do
"Fuck the concert! Let's talk about emotions."
Sean, you are the best!😂💀
You are so intuitive. The way your brain figures out what comes next is so interesting. Clever!! I always really enjoy your reactions!! Thank you!
This show is based on the graphic novels by the same name and my guess is they’ll still be in high school season 2 if they follow the books
Season two is going to be largely about Charlie's mental health problems. Also Tori, Charlie's sister, has a book about her, and it's quite depressing, so yeah you're rightabout that.
Sean is literally predicting everything
this has to be the funniest Heartstopper reaction I've seen (and I've seen a lot). 😂
Harry does actually get a redemption arc in the comics/book! The entire journey isn’t shown but in the comics he starts out with a half-assed apology to Nick and Charlie and then he slowly starts to stand up for them. In the book which takes place right before Nick goes to uni he’s actually quite supportive although still a little obnoxious and he dresses up in a cheerleader outfit for their last day at school lol
... Thank you for the spoiler 😒
@@frederiquem6725 if you saw them say “he gets redemption arc” you could have stopped reading if you didn’t wanna know what happens. Its not that deep.
i love harry in the book nick and charlie hes so funny😭
"Sorta like a horror film almost." Charlie literally bumps into Ben. LOL
The googling and taking quizzes though! So accurate!
*Sean in the first few minutes of the 1st episode* :dump Ben and get with Nick
*the plot: oh baby I’m not even here*
I like how EVERY kind of person is represented here. We got even a left handed person (Tao) :D and it doesn't feel forced at all
"Charlie, you do have a dog! NICK!" made me absolutely cackle omg 😂
I'm so happy you didn't hate on Tao!
Me too it got old that every video hated him lol
I choked on my drink when I saw the title because everyone knows the answer is YES. No questions necessary.
just fyi that season two is likely gonna be focused on charlie's mental health, elle and tao getting together, and their school trip to Paris. bc that's what happens next in the comic!
5:16 the fear of incest took me out 😭
Fun fact. The badges on the blazers change from the seasons so for winter its a tree with no leaves summer is a tree with green leaves and im pretty sure the autumn one is a tree with orange leaves or like leaves falling off the tree but we haven't seen the autumn one yet
I cannot wait to see him react to this hot stopper is anonymous favorite shows I've ever seen and now one of my most favorite people is reacting to it this has got to be good
Knowing what happens in the graphic novels makes me scared for season two tbh but i'm ready for the heartache and more wholesomeness
Man predicted things way too accurately 😅… not only in this season but also with season 2
Fun thing is that at the end of the day Imogen was, in fact, an ally. Good for her.
Answer to video title; YES, yes it was 🤩 also you uploaded this right when I got into my new wave of Heartstopper reaction content
For season two they’re most likely going to cover books 3 and 4 because season one is books 1-2. Books 3-4 (Minor Spoilers) are a lot darker in regards to Charlie so I’m exited to see what they do for that season.
Please please react to Young Royals!! It‘s a gay romance teen series as well but way more serious than Heartstopper (: I absolutely adore this show and it would be cool to see your reaction to it 🙈
it was like 20 seconds in and you read ben like a book 😂😂😂 i love it
I love you watching this... I love how involved you get with EVERYTHING. The plot, the characters, the graphics, it was a joy to watch you watch this and lead with your open heart. It gives me a bit of hope for this world. There is so much hate right now in the world - living in the US we are bombarded with it. You were a happy respite. Thanks Bravo Sean. Well done.
The absolute shade he throws at Ben FROM THE BEGINNING is very lovely
every episode was so good but i havent read the books yet the acting was so perfent and beautiful and it show everything that happen in real life to people who is trying to work out there sexuality, its so good to have samething like this to help everyone to live there life and in joy it and i hope in season 2 is a happy one at the end of season 2 and also in season 3 as well i just want every one to be happy at all iam saying.
Love this guy! Great commentary- had me laughing a lot!
I keep watching these reactions of Heartstopper... I want to see if people who don't know the story mention the Charlie thing- I couldn't NOT see it!!!
OMG are you thinking the same thing that i am thinking bc if you are.... P A I N
@@yourfavoritevirgobaby I just might be because even in this video, Sean mentions how Charlie is gonna do THE THING and I was shouting like "he doesn't!!! Have you ever seen him do it?! He never does it!!!"
@@TheBlupickles OKAY SO WE'RE THINKING THE SAME THING !!! honestly this topic will BREAK ME when season 2 comes out.. i've read the comics and i'm not ready at all for this :')
@@yourfavoritevirgobaby Oh god, I don't want to know what the thing is. Nooo
Well, a year has passed now. It's June 14, 2024 ....
So which "thing" are you talking about?
[Spoilers?:
Are you talking about the 'not eating' thing?
That shows up more clearly in season 2.
But if it isn't that, What are you talking about?]
Charlie's mom actually showed up in the Secret episode where Nick was drenched in the rain.
Sean: i fee like anybody can clear that jump
Me: WHY ARE YOU ATTACKING ME?!
I just have to say that you're prediction skills are AMAZING like you are reallyyy good at predicting the things that might happen in the show or the next season, it surprises me 😅
call me by your name is a beautiful film, i would recommend reacting to it!!! it's definitely not as wholesome as heartstopper, but it's good!!!
Season 2 has been out and I can’t wait to see you react to it as I love it!!!! ❤🎉🎉
I just clicked so fast, I love this show and can't wait to see you watch it!!
“Harry needs a beating”.
You called it!!! 😂😂😂
BAHAHA THE WAY HE SAID "He's using you!" BCS HE DIDNT SAY HAPPY NEW YEAR BACK BAHAH
YOUNG ROYALS🙌🙌 it’s okay netflix and it’s SO good.
GUYS I JUAT REALISED- the first song in season 1 starts with “I wish I thought that I was pretty”
And the last song in season two is “ur so pretty” THAT IS SO SWEET
Hii, can you watch young royals?? It’s a Swedish Netflix series and season 1 only has 6 episodes so wouldn’t take too long and season 2 is out in November! It’s about a Swedish prince called Wilhelm who goes to a boarding school and meets Simon. It’s basically their relationship growing + other drama and stuff, it’s so good!
Don't know if anyone has mentioned it but we did see Charlie's Mom when Nick showed up in the rain
40:15 there is a novel about tori called solitare if you are interested in knowing more about her
I know i’m late but “he moves to a college very far away or he’s bisexual” really took me out😂😂😂😂
Omg i would have never expected you to do this omg i love this 😄
I love how he guess most of the scenes
If you liked this you should DEFINITELY watch young royals !
They didn't directly say it but I believe I read that Isaac is meant to be asexual too- so even more representation.
Loving your reaction so far man, as fast and choppy as it may be. The mantra of "sports is sports" in opposition to the stereotype of gay lads can't play sports is one that or tends to get overlooked, I fear. Cheers for keeping it real in the vids man, I hope plenty of people find themselves engrossed in your commentary, as I was, and get an understanding that being gay isn't some flimsy concept of being useless at masculine tasks and black and white dampness that it can be sometimes shown as ;)
I laughed when you said “Charlie you already have a dog, Nick” 😂😂😂😂
the predictions for every small detail is mad...EVEN the predictions for season 2!!!
Having read solitaire i feel bad for all the slander Tori gets from people who are binging heartstopper
your face at the end when ben says "you obsessed with me?" hahahaha
My school have lessons about sexuality in the textbooks but nothing changed. Cuz my teacher was homophobic and Transphobic, really against the LGBTQ+ Community, half of my classmates agree with her.
didn't know i need this, but looks like i need this.
Volumes 1 and 2 were the source materials for Season 1. Then Volumes 3 and 4 will be what they use to make Season 2. I recently read 1 & 2, but can't decide if I want to read 3 & 4 yet or wait.
not the "we're gonna do a montage where he trains for 2 hours and then he becomes the next best character"
❓❓❓❓
Sean I immediately knew Sean is a king
"You can't use your phone during lunchtime? What kind of school is this?!" a british one : ( no phones at lunchtime for me
