Thanks for your useful speech 🙏
Can you explain what the place/role of Zhan Zhuang is in traditional Taiji Quan? Is it something that the beginner does to reprogram their body, then leave it behind afterwards and go on to more advanced things?
Or is it something that the practitioner should keep doing, even after 10 or 20 years?

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed this sharing.
      About your question:
The practice of these disciplines is developed through a spiral path. One must learn the right progressions and then begin again at a different level of depth.
Zhan Zhuang practice, depending on the level of experience, leads to developing deeper and deeper levels of perception and acquiring new skills.
The goal is to transfer the skills acquired into movement, in daily life and, for those interested, in the martial aspects.
If in the practice of Zhan Zhuang you follow the right progressions , it becomes a never-ending path that will allow you to acquire an increasingly refined perception of yourself and your body.
But it is important to be clear about the direction and the different steps of work. Otherwise within a few months you saturate the opportunity to grow in practice.

Please can you tell me, what is meant with „Shang Xia Shi Li“ ?

It is one of the introductory exercises we teach in our school. A small up-and-down movement of the hands coordinated with the body.
But as I said in the video, the coordination aspect is secondary to the practice mode.
How to perform the exercises is more important than which exercises.

@@MADDECODE Ahhh okay. I just wanted to know for the sake of understanding, to be able to place it better. I really like the way they explain these things and don't wrap everything up in even greater mysticism. 👍🏻
