  • The centres are swirling in this rich looking Crochet Hexagon Blanket. This consists of 14 rounds and the swirls are easy to remember.
    I found the first time doing the motif, I was slow and a bit tight with my tension as I was learning the pattern. The second motif was much faster and looser too.
    Take note the pattern is worked in a continuous round up until the end of round 11. So you will need a stitch marker to ensure you are counting your rounds right.
    Use the tutorial below for extra help with this pattern. I also demonstrate the invisible join technique too.

    Thank you for the video. I found the pattern and loved it. I did my first hexagon except for the last row when you change colours and it was so wonky. I did pull it out and it did take the shape but my spiral wasn’t sitting flat. When you look at a picture of the finished blanket it does show the spirals aren’t flat but I still thought mine was too bumpy. So I went looking for a tutorial and found yours and it was great to see how your hexagon came together. Mine looked very much like it. I think my next one will be a little better but I don’t have to throw my first one out and start over. Woohoo. Thanks for showing the invisible join. Very helpful and easy. Another woohoo. Lol Thank you for your help. Most appreciated. I can always count on you.

    Love this pattern! I’m making it in a variety of yellows with a white border to mimic a honeycomb for a Whinnie the Pooh nursery. Only modifications I made was using a magic circle at the beginning and when turning it into a hexagon I put 2 single crochet into the corners instead of 1 which helped me see them as they are more pronounced and made the edges one stitch longer, also helping stretch the shape from a square to a hexagon.

    I love this pattern but I just can’t seem to make it work. I am always off on the last side of round 13. I always seem to have three or four stitches left after the last corner even if I count every stitch. I just can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong.

    I'm trying this. But Row 12 is different in video from written. Video has just sc, but written says to start with a chain 5. confused.

  • @peachfire1981
    @peachfire1981 3 года назад

    So I know u said to keep up with your rows with the stitch marker but I found that if I count the single crochets (no the 2 in the chain) the # of stitches is the row your on. Am I right in that thought? If not mine is not going to end up right lol. Any idea how to make the hexagon flatter? Like go down a size on the hook? Maybe? Thanks for the tutorial 😀

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  3 года назад

      You can block it later. Or increase the hook size and it should be flatter. I think each of us has our own way. Do what works for you and you should be fine. Nice to see people thinking differently than I and coming up with great solutions.

    What size hook?

  • @WinnyN1314
    @WinnyN1314 3 года назад

    I'm working on this blanket now but get confused by row the end of row 11 and row 12. The pattern on Yarnspirations said chain 5 at the beginning of row 12, then slip stitch into the chain 5 sp. But in the video, there is no chain 5 at beginning of row 12, instead you sl st into each chain. So I'm get confused about which one should I follow.

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
      @TheCrochetCrowd  3 года назад

      If you are comparing, always follow the pattern as sometimes I give tips that are not shown in the pattern through my own experiences.

  • @olawumiolorunkoya

    What's the hook size used?

    • @barbarajacobs3484
      @barbarajacobs3484 5 лет назад

      Hook size is H ( 5mm) or size to obtain gauge. Gauge is a swatch of 13 ad & 14 rows to equal 4".

    Is the hexagon suppose to lay flat. Mine seems not lay flat. Is the problem too tight crochet???

    • @charissasmith
      @charissasmith 6 месяцев назад

      Yes, the hexagon is supposed to lay flat in this project. I'm working on a Cluster V-Stitch Hexagon Lovey and found out that this pattern is worked in a counterclockwise direction if you are right-handed (the opposite is for left-handers). The main problem is not the tension but how you finish off each round. To fix this, I made two double crochets between two v-stitches in each round. Then, I made a slip stitch into the starting chain so my work could stay flat.
      I hope my advice helps. 😊

    • @rioseven7306
      @rioseven7306 2 года назад

      I noticed that too. I made two of the hexagons and they were also wonky. You know what I think? Maybe once you sew them together, it goes away because they look kinda round in the picture in the pattern. Either way I will try it after my current project. I have some scrap yarn to use so I will find out.
