    Ive been crocheting for 15 years and always used a magic circle and hated sewing in all those ends. This crocheting over that tail end is a game changer.

    Hi! Absolutely LOVE this pattern!!!! I did your pattern. Then, I tried another round with (6-extended dc, ch 4) in each ch sp for round 5. Then I added your larger edging of (4-treble crochet, ch 1, 4-treble crochet) to make the 6 hexi corners & (4-dc) in 2 sps between.
    It's even a little bigger (10 inch width) & I love it a little more. Let me know what you think....🤗

    Agreed on the magic circle, I never use it for just that reason. If you pull that tail hard enough using the chain method, you can get the hole pretty small and in some projects I can make it completely disappear just like magic circle.

      @@nautikrallcrochet I knot it before weaving it in. I tread the tapestry needle, go in the first stitch and back with the needle through the loop that has formed. I do that a couple of times before I weave it in. I hope that makes sense? English is not my first language. I would not trust just weaving the tail in. I learned it from this Video. ruclips.net/video/Vay9q_Op-vA/видео.html.

    Ive been crocheting for YEARS and never once had my magic cirles fall apart and hate the chain method. I can never get it to look clean or closed. I live on a farm with 6 grand babies and countless furbabies as we rescue. I actually wouldn't even care if the rounds I make for their crates fell apart but after 100's of washes and dryer rounds, not one has fallen apart. I find this comment very odd. I also never leave my tail ignored to the end. After tightening I take it once around the opposite direction of my work from there I carry it through my work until I reach the end of it. If yours is falling apart, perhaps try this. (For those who prefer the magic circle.) I think the biggest key is to find which works best for you and stick to that. Perfect it. Make it your own. We all have that in common.
    Commenting to say if you are like me and you prefer magic ring, there are absolutely ways to do it that it will not fall apart nop matter how many times you wash it.

    Is the granny triangle the one I need to crochet to finish off the edges for a square look? I have made all my large sunburst hexagons and I think I would like for it to be a finished square. Do you know what I mean?

      Hi! You complete half a dc stitch, then add in the new skein to complete the stitch. Then I tie either a reef knot or a surgeons knot and sew in the ends later. Check out this tutorial on how to add a new skein;
