    Cool to see a video on a game I loved. I like your content. Glad to find your channel

      I can see why you would love the game, it seems like not a lot of people got to play it when it game out, but many of those who did really think highly of it. It makes me feel bad that I think so much of my video game off negatively around the combat when overall there's a lot in there to enjoy.
      I'm glad you liked the video too, thanks for watching.

    I got your video randomly recommended from the front page, never heard about this game, clicked the video because the title sounded like drakengard. Wow, what a pleasant surprise! Your voice and cadence is so lovely to listen to with very laidback and "funny in a chill-way" type writing that i really enjoy. Instant subscribe, can't wait for more stuff!

    So many fond memories of this and the first game. Even when they were brand new I could recognise their clunk, but loved what they got right well enough to look past it.

      The few people I know who played it when it came out all loved it, and a clunky game never hurt my feelings. Some of them are still my favorites. Thanks for watching.

    I absolutely loved this game.Although admittedly , I never did Finish it😢

    • @KalTheSkeleton
      @KalTheSkeleton  3 месяца назад +2

      Before I started trying to make videos on games I had a real strong tendency to not finish them. Not that I recommend it because now I feel like I spend twice as long making a video as I spend playing the actual game but it did give me some accountability.
      Anyway I don't blame anyone who didn't finish it after hitting the mid-game but it is kind of a shame because it feels like a lot of its best ideas were either in the first 5 hours or near the last five.

    The USA version of this game is famous for the "lost dragon" bug. The EU version was delayed for a bit in order to fix this bug- and a couple of other big ones -before it was released. If you're gonna pick up this game to try, get the EU version.

      I think I read something about that, where if you go through a map transition without Arokh, he'll just disappear forever right? Luckily I was already trying to get him into the caves just to see if I could, that would have likely killed the game for me.

    • @jasoya_gaming
      @jasoya_gaming 13 дней назад

      He actually doesn't disappear forever in the America version. When you do a map transition without Arokh when you're supposed to take him (Ravenshold➡️Northern Tundra is an infamous example) just go back through the cave until the forced save menu pops up. Back out of that menu and Arokh should pop in right by you.
      If he somehow doesn't leave and then comeback to then perform this trick again. It should work on thr first try though.

    I enjoy watching reviews for this game to see what other people think about it's pros and cons. As a diehard fan of the game I have to agree with just about everything you said. I would normally give this game a 9.5/10, but that is if we keep all the glitches and exploits. If the game had no bugs, no glitches, and everything else was as intended. My rating of the game would be about the same as yours around 7.5/10 and I'd definitely wouldn't dedicate my channel to the game 😅. Thanks for taking your time sharing your thoughts the review was enjoyable including the "Dumb Joke" at the start.

    • @KalTheSkeleton
      @KalTheSkeleton  Месяц назад +1

      It was a really cool game, I can see why you'd like it. Your speedrun video is damn impressive too. Saying you agree with most of the video is a massive compliment, I often worry that talking about a game after only beating it once or twice will seem really ignorant to people who are really deep into them. I'm sure I missed a ton, but I try to go in to anything I'm reviewing as blind as I can. I think the only glitch I found was jumping down the big tree around the death trigger to get to the cipher early.
      And man, I knew it was dumb when I was making it, but in hindsight, not my proudest bit. The retention metrics tell me that I should have trusted my gut and just cut it out, but you live and you learn lol.

      I'd like to give it a shot, though I'm curious how it controls and how it holds up on modern hardware. It looks pretty similar in quality to this one from what I've seen. We're all chasing that nostalgia dragon out here.

    there still arent many games where you can fly on a creature and then also dismount and do things on the ground. id say for 2002 this one did pretty well.
    edit - ill give ya a sub for covering one of my all time favorite games.

    • @KalTheSkeleton
      @KalTheSkeleton  3 месяца назад +1

      Yeah you'll occasionally get something with vehicle combat and obviously tons of games will let you ride a horse or whatever but there's just something so much more viscerally satisfying about riding a dragon and raining down fire upon your enemies. Now that flight controls have gotten better for things like planes and helicopters that would love to see a modern Dragon riding game, but this one swing for the fences.

      @@KalTheSkeleton it will be the upcoming "light no fire" especially if that has procedural generated dragons like no mans sky does with planet life.
      we could be flying entirely unique dragons over an earth sized open world by next year, awesome things to come!

      @@suzukisixk7 I saw that announcement trailer and, while I learned my lesson about trailer hype long ago, it does look awesome.
      I enjoyed no man's sky for what it was, but hopefully a slightly smaller scope will allow them to better tune the procedural generation and really make something special.
