- I got my new printer to use for sublimation and quickly added the ink that was included to the tanks not realizing that for sublimation a special ink was needed. I saw a lot of videos on removing the ink but they involved taking apart the printer or dumping it over. That sounded messy so this video shows you what I did! Hope it helps!
OMG, thank you! I picked your video because it was 3 minutes long. BEST IDEA and results without a 45 minute video and taking the printer apart.
I just did it with straws and it worked perfect
Using the same bottle to recapture the ink was clean and efficient-it worked great! When I inverted the Epson EcoTank to remove the wrong ink, it flowed smoothly with no mess at all.
I used the same ink bottle that I used to fill the wrong ink flipped my printer upside down and a good amount of ink came out. Thanks for this video
This is brilliant. Had to remove pigment ink from my 2800 b/c it started getting some phantom paper jam error and I bought another 2800 with the intention of switching them and then returning the defective one. Used clear tubing I had. Used a phillips head and heat gun to widen the tube hole, and then connected it and drained it directly back into the pigment bottles. Rinsed and reused the same tube. Took like 5 minutes, can't believe how easy it was. Thanks for this video!
I made the same mistake and thank you for this video. It worked and there was no mess. We did have to print off about a hundred colorfill circles on plain paper to get the rest of the inkjet out of the tubes, but after that it works great! Again thank you for the video!!!!
I also taped the sides of the plastic freezer bag to the printer before turning it over to make sure it didnt slip off as the ink was draining into it.
I bought those mechanical pencils from the family dollar store with the black tube that is attached and it fits perfectly. I just pulled off the top of the pencil where the eraser is attached and pulled the little piece that hold the lead off on the opposite end then cut off that end of the pencil holder with scissors because the hole is smaller. Slide the black tube down pencil case then taped around it just to make sure it was secure when the ink began to drain out. I put each one in place over the nozzles then sealed the freezer bag and turned over the printer. I would suggest tapping the bag to the printer before turning it over just to make sure it doesn’t slip off while the ink is pouring out and it took two of us to do it. My printer works great however we did run about a hundred colorful images to get the rest of the inkjet ink out before we could use it for sublimation printing.
Same I am printing a lot of paper until it empty lol
@WevolveWithTzima Was the black tubing you're referring to, the rubber grip on the outside of the pencil casing? I need to do this today, and I want to make sure I'm using the right stuff. Thanks!
@@DarklLisa wish I took a picture c but you just wanna make sure it’s snug over the nozzle where the ink is gonna pour out but even once you empty the ink you will still have to run about a hundred sheets with some colors just to get it out the line so I did large circle in publisher of the colors black magenta blue cyan etc eventually it will start print the sublimation ink 😀
I used straws and it worked perfect omg
what kind of straws?
You should also run the "power clean" option in the maintenance options. That will empty all the old ink that is still in the tubes and Printheads.
I made the same mistake!!! Thanks for sharing 🎉
I’m so glad I’m not the only one!!! Now I guess I better find a straw.. 😩
You are sooooo smart and to the point!!! Wooo Hooo
Thank you!!!! You saved me! 😅it works!!!
Nice to know, im not the only one that made this mistake 😅
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Im trying to do the reverse. Revert from Sub back to regular ink. (Bought a larger printer for subbing)
This was my issue, but I just emptied my printer by simply turning it upside over my kitchen sink.
im about to do this- change from sub back to regular. did it work for you?
@@tomekaj5 Did it work out for you? I'm trying to revert mine as well currently.
I have a used epson with espon ink. Just curious can i just use up all the ink and then add in sublimation ink?
Ooooooooomfg yesssssssssssssss seen this at 4:30 am youuuuuuu save me
Haha it’s 4:31 now
lol i literally ordered this printer in a bundle with the sub ink and today i set it up not even paying attention i put the cyan in yellow tank !! So now i have to drain the yellow out i am gonna try ur method I just have one question when u turned upside down and others were closed did u have any issues with them popping open while draining one tank at a time ???
But how do take the rest of the ink out of the system of the tubes inside and the headers?
I'm sorry! I did not see this. Use the cleaning of the heads selection on your printer. Run a few prints thru and you'll see it works!
I totally made this mistake. I removed the ink and then added the sublimation. However, my sublimation won't transfer? I am using sublimation mugs and paper. I have an Epson ET2800. Did you come across any issues with sublimation?
How do i fit the straws to go inside. Its to narrow for the straws to go inside. Or do the straws go outside?
did you have to flush it out with alcohol
I did the same mistake lets see if i can empty it
Can anyone tell me what those black tubes are please?
So is your printer working great now that you switched the ink???
I took my ink out last night and it’s working perfectly thanks
@@BriiKustomDesigns i emptied regular ink and replaced with sublimation. No image sublimating on tumblers. Tried different paper types and temperatures.
@@Diane-uj1rp some people say it’s the pressure
Don't forget to purge the lines and cartridges.
Why would they give it to you? Omg yes I made the same mistake I'm just going to print till ink is gone
Where did you get the little hoses and what size I need to do this
What size tubing did you use
Brand new ECOTANK 15000 and I put the yellow ink in the cyan (nothing has printed so no ink in lines) I want to cry. Going to try this and pray it helps
Anyone done this on a 15000?
Can you do a another video showing how it worked
There's not really anything to show. I made some mugs and a few tshirts.
I made the same mistake, and I changed the ink into the sublimation ink hiippoo brand, but still, my designs not transfere into mugs!! Im using sublimation paper htvront and their htvronf heart press for mugs in temperature 390F and the time for 480 second as recommended. Please if any one can help me to fix this problem I would appreciate it 🙏
I switched ink too and changed print paper selections - no image at all on my sublimation tumbler or mug
@Diane-uj1rp I did a power clean after i changed the ink, and now it's working perfectly 👌
@Diane-uj1rp this power clean will empty all the old ink that is still in the tube's and printheads.
What direction did you turn it over?
haha
Can anyone tell me what those black tubes are please
