Hi mark, i have observed that there are a lot of complaints about the Dell XPS 17 models like 9700, 9710, 9720. And all those issues were related to over heating and battery life. Do you think, is there any major hardware changes in the 9730 as compared to the previous models regarding those issues? Thanks
Great comparative analysis of the XPS15 and the XPS17.I purchased the 2023 XPS15 in September with the Intel i9 13900H,Nvidia RTX 4070,3.5K OLED display,64 GB of DDR5 Ram and a 1TB Gen 4 NVme M.2.I added a 2TB WD Black SN870X Gen 4 M.2.
How noticeable is the difference between oled and non-oled? I have an older XPS 15 with oled and contemplating on getting the XPS 17 but worried I'll be disappointed with the screen
Went with the XPS 15" (9530), FHD+, i9 and RTX 4070: $3200 (CAD). I would've liked the 17" but that was way beyond budget, clipping just over $4K CAD. Ouch!
@@markguim Not great. I get about 4-5 hours when doing regular stuff (streaming videos, browsing, office related tasks). I have an M1 Pro 16”, too, so I’m not the greatest guy to ask about this battery. The Mac is in a league of its own when it comes to battery (and other stuff). I got the XPS primarily to game on the side. Still, it’s a slick laptop, which currently is a better all-rounder when it comes to business and pleasure.
I would get the Dell XPS 17 if I was into non-software engineering or programming. Bigger screen, 4k display resolution, brighter screen, better heat management, and adjustable RAM & SSD.
Simplicity and high quality is key when you talk about Dell XPS 17 or Apple Macbook M1 to M3. For those who would love playing games on their laptop or would love to utilise solidworks-electrical software kindly go for Dell XPS 17. Dell and Apple products are simply the best, if you care for quality and durability of computer systems. Thanks for sharing 🎉
Yep! Add the MacBook Air and Dell Latitude for less extreme CPU/GPU use. Examples: Accounting, finance, insurance, data analysts, business analyst, marketing analyst, sales, recruiting, or office administrator.
Hi Mark, looking to buy a video for video editing 4k footage. Would you recommend this Dell XPS 17 9730 Laptop Silver, Intel Core i7-13700H, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD, 17" 3840x2400 4K UHD+ Touchscreen, 6GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050, Dell 1 YR WTY (refurbished £1,979) or better to get different make/model? Not used to Apple Macbooks and used to using Windows. Thanks
Other option is Dell XPS 17 9710/ i9-11900H 64GB/4K UHD+ TOUCH/ 4TB SSD RTX 3060/ WRTY-SEP-2025 for £2,299. Does this option seem better? Aparently it hasn't been used

I went with the XPS 17 mainly for the way better cooling on the XPS 17 that uses vapor chamber & the larger screen so i keep my eyes healthy .

Cool! i9, FHD and RTX 4070, what’s your battery like? My xps 15 review unit is i7, 4070, and the 3.5K oled

@@AndrewSnowden007 personally would go with the newer device with 13th gen intel i7-13700H vs the older 11th gen intel i9
Very nice sir!
