I have a question about the displays. One thing I know when comparing the iPhone to the galaxy is that the galaxy comes from the factory set to a default of "Vivid". The colors are far more saturated and some might think that’s a good thing. The iPhone doesn’t have any modes to set the color. When I view a photo that I have edited on a calibrated color accurate display (Eizo CS2730) the colors on the Samsung are disgustingly over saturated and makes the photo look like a cartoon. It pains me that people are viewing my photo on that setting. The iPhone 12 pro is very close to looking like what it should. So even though the Samsung might pop and have some crazy colors being displayed it is kinda shitty until you go in to the display settings and set it to Normal. Then it better matches what most peoples color accurate displays should look like. My question is, does the Dell come with a default that is similar (vivid on the Samsung phones) setting as the OLED Samsung displays? If so can you set it to normal and compare. Also how do these displays compare when you actually calibrate them to display accurate color? One of them is actually correct and better looking once they are properly calibrated. An over saturated display might be pleasing to some people. For professionals it’s shit. Kinda like walking in to a store to look at tvs and they all look different. Don't the colors on the XPS "pop" more just because, by default, it is set to display its full gamut - which is 100% AdobeRGB as measured by Notebookcheck? The MBP 16 M1 "only" covers 88% of AdobeRGB per Notebookcheck also. Did you have both set to the same color gamut? Like comparing P3 vs P3 and sRGB mode vs sRGB mode. This all breaks down anyway with Dell because Premier color used to (probably still does? Let us know!) cause significant color banding when controlling color gamut. So if I don't need to be in AdobeRGB mode (which most people don't) but rather in sRGB (still the standard for nearly everything non-HDR) then with Dell, you either deal with horrible banding or with cartoonish colors...

What colour is this macbook 16 in the video?
Silver or space grey?
I’m looking all over RUclips for OLED vs MacBook Pro 14 screen comparison, because not all OLED are created equally. I just want to see an XPS OLED or asus OLED vs mini led comparison.
Outstanding audio quality - Straight to the point - Simple and understandable information. New sub!
Wooof you destroyed my eyes again🤣 You need to give us some warning if the video is in HDR
😎
Fun comparison. Thanks
Welcome
Curious how is battery life hours on XPS 17 4k touch?
I myself ordered and have tested it now. It was not good. I had purchased the i9 12900HK, rtx 3060 4k touch panel. Horrible battery life and heavy.
This is the video I need! Do you think 64G is needed for M1 Max?
What do you do? 32 is definitely enough for 90% of people
@@TallyHoTech I mostly use it for final cut pro but I Safari is using quite a lot ram. I like to open final cut and capcut both at the same time
I’m running 2-3 virtual machines concurrently as well as Davinci resolve 4K editing and my 64gb ram mbp doesn’t even sweat! However my colleague who got the 32gb ram one can easily do the same so I’d say 64gb isn’t needed at all!
@@solidsn2011 thanks for providing the experience. I used up all the memories in 32g/1tb and safari and final cut freezes so that’s why I return the standard M1 max and the Final Cut Pro takes up 700g for a single project. That’s why I’m thinking 64g2t is a better choice. In your opinion, is it a waste of money for spending the extra $800?
@@AndysTV are you sure it’s not the memory leak problem of Safari? With the latest update I did on my machine I don’t have this problem. As to if it worths the extra money to upgrade, as I told you for what most people do it doesn’t but you’ll have to judge that according to your workflow and experience. If I could turn time back I would choose 32gb ram and 4tb ssd instead of 2Tb as 4K videos can take up a lot of space!
For non gamer and people who do content creation the MacBook pro 14/16 is the best!
Yep. As long as you use Apps made for Apple silicon
The MacBook is better, by far. Gone are the days of having your laptop sound like a hair dryer
I got the 14” M1 pro with the upgraded 10 core. Not sure why people want the 16” specs are similar, anything I might information I might be missing?
screen real estate, some of us just need it I wish I could use a smaller display
Which one is the best?
I have the XPS 17 I9 gen 12 7920 64GB, is this the same?
I have a 16” MBP 2021 24 core 32 gigs. It games amazingly for what I have, Civ vi etc. do you foresee more support for games now that macs can truly hang in terms of gaming?
I have a 2019 16in MBP. I was thinking of trading mine in and getting the 14in, but that notch really bothers me. Does the notch bother you, or have you gotten use to it?
Lol gaming on a Mac
I like silent Cub and football manager
@@RyanDunton not at all. Never had an issue with it getting in the way as the top becomes a black line and it blends in with gaming. In regular use and editing you forget it exists in 2 minutes. Go try one at an Apple store and you’ll see what I mean
@@TallyHoTech I’ll have to see what Silent cub is. Thanks
I really wish Dell went the direction of Apple with the screen. I HATE the OLED on my 9510 (really wish I got the 4K instead).
SORRY TO SAY; BUT I HAVE A HUGE ISSUE AND IT IS NOT FIXED BY DELL !!!
I AM TALKING ABOUT 5K DELL PRECISION ___ KEYBOARD !!!!
SO SIMPLE; BUT KILLING THE DELL !
I wonder about comparing cost
Doesn't USB-C tap out at 100W? Might want to check the actual wattage that's being used to charge the laptop. I know my M1 Max MBP 16" is unable to keep up if I'm charging thru USB-C and I'm gaming. Probably why Apple created their own charging standard again...I hear though that USB-C is doubling the power wattage with the new revision, another round of stupid cable replacements Zzz...
Why are RUclipsrs always pushing MacBooks?
They are a distant 4th in laptop marketshare both globally and in the US.
Lenovo and HP sell 3x as many laptops and Dell sells 2x as many laptops as Apple.
Lol, Lenovo
My brand new XPS 17 webcam broke down in 3 days. I returned it
Ooof
@@TallyHoTech yeah the ironic part is, I was about to return my MacBook 16inch to keep XPS 17. for the reasons u mentioned in the video. One day before I was about to return (had initiated the return on apple website) dell webcam not working anymore. Maybe dell is not meant to be.
It’ll be a much more interesting comparisons with 12th gen Intel or the latest Ryzen chips. Not sure Dell will level the playing field with displays.
Genuinely pleased I swapped from a MacBook Pro to XPS. With better battery and performance, I think the XPS will be the perfect machine.
Great video
Yep I agree. Can’t wait for the new CPUs
@@stoychotrenchev4443 ‘better’ is a subjective term. For me, Windows 11 is better.
@@stoychotrenchev4443 I’m far more familiar with Windows. It multitasks much better than MacOS. I like touch and I like the choice of device.
@@stoychotrenchev4443 better for you. It's good that you enjoy it. MacOS cannot even multitask with multiple windows open next to each other. That's so frustrating for me. Have a watch of this.
ruclips.net/video/cfsNO14hikA/видео.html
@@stoychotrenchev4443 well if I wanted to play, it’d be on a Windows PC eh, not a Mac 👌😉
more saturation =/= better display.
I thought the new one (intel gen 12) was out. Waiting to see that comparision.
For best value: Macbook Air M1, good display, good body, good keyboard, excellent battery life.
For more advanced users: ProArt with Ryzen 9 5900X | 64GB | 2TB | RTX 3070 | 120HZ | 100% P3 | Full size SD Express 7 | upgradable RAM/SSD, HDMI 2.1 | 2 USB C | 2 USB A for 2399$
hows the heat and battery life on the asus computer?
I’m waiting for AlderLake gen 12 versions of the XPS LINE,
Dell really needs to consider AMD option
The only thing the PC has over the Mac is the GPU but the rtx 3060 in the Dell is a joke
Never ever buying an XPS again
HDR is such a pain in the ass with windows and they need to get it sorted. That said, its too simplistic to say this is just a pro comparison. "Pro" what?? I'm a professional that uses my laptop almost exclusively, and no i don't need to bake videos for youtube. I'm really tired of youtube rendering bakeoffs as though thats the only usecase for "pros". Also gaming makes Apple a non-starter for me at this point, I don't care how good thier hardware is. Like most people these days, I don't maintain a "work" laptop separatley from my personal one so current needs are much broader than are ususally represented by most reviews and I hope that changes. In my world between these two devices the XPS 17 is the only real option. Obviously there is a smaller creative group where the macbook wins hands down.
I agree. HDR is F’ed in Windows some great points
Compatibility wise go with the Dell
Noice
which has truer colors - "pop" is meaningless
Show of hands... how many of you buy a laptop for video editing and Blender? Out of 36,000 people... I see.... 4? Ok, nice. Very relevant benchmarking then. Thanks.
Wake me up when M1 doesn't suck.
No one tell information like you did :
I follow all but you ;
Give information in easy way ..
Emphasize on very important things and explain it to an idiot ..like the screen
Notice something we all notice it but we don’t have explanation and why ! Which you did , the screen again ( why windows screen looks better ! )
And we never need to see your face , for now at least .
So in behalf of all nerds in the web , I thank you .
Hii thanks for deleting my comment still you are not right…
I don’t delete comments.
@@TallyHoTech I’m really sorry about that …that was my mistake….although my point is most windows laptop will upscale RGB profile to P3 profile…..so that pops more….it doesn’t mean it was right…bcoz MacBook only presents P3 contents as P3 like HDR video or p3 photos on websites ….can check for yourself on some p3 colour gamet test website on both laptop you will definitely understand….by the way you are doing great videos ..I don’t mean you were wrong 👍🏼
"M1 pro comparable to a rtx3080." 😂 Ok mate
This is an amazing time for the computing world. Apple will hold an advantage for years to come until Intel and AMD move to SoCs. Apple has a 10 year head start since developing A1 chips on their iPhone lineup. Apple just needs to scale the M1 architecture with minor improvements going forward to hold the lead.
With those prices they will not be the lead.
na and is close intel will fall behind cause of temperatures
The biggest difference between these two is the OS. Windows is and will always be crap
The DELL XPS screen 'pops' because it's over saturated.
Wow, Dell 17" with 12gen intel will kick m1max ass, sad that I prefer apple environment...
even your charts are in HDR, lol
Yer. You have to or it looks weird SD + HDR together
STILL A DELLL... CASE CLOSED.
