Always a pleasure to watch Sorin fix things.
I like that tool but I don't like the "on-going reset fees" you have to pay to keep using the tool. Either make the tool free and charge an on-going fee or sell the tool and provide regular updates since it's sold for a few hundred $$$s.
I like that slow movement of the mouse in your hand because it allows us to see what parameter you are selecting on the screen and what steps to follow. Of course, the video will be longer, but a newbie like me learns more easily that way (slowly) and thus you don't lose any detail in your understanding. Needless to say, if I see a new battery (regardless of laptop manufacturer) fail again I'll have to buy that battery tester (analyzer) without hesitation and the same will happen if I see one of those programmable "chips" (Nuvoton, iTE , etc.) in case of failure again. Another way of saying it, I have to start saving money to buy them. Thank you very much for taking the time and sharing this knowledge with us. A brotherly greeting from Mexico.
If the battery has not been charged for a long time, it is necessary to perform another 1-2 discharges and re-charges. Normal users does not have equipment and software to adjust.
Great video Sorin,i really enjoy watching you repair all these batteries,definitely my favourite type of videos on your channel. I got one question tho: Could you make a video about repairing overdischarged batteries (in similar condition like the one in this video) but the ones that are in plastic case,like MU06 for hp and similar ones,i would like to see how you charge its overdischarged batteries and how would you open the case. Also is there some sort of a way for us to locate the fuse on the electronic? Thank you for these videos,they really help ALOT,keep up the good work man!

Its a nice tool, and it is not the initial expense, but the re-occuring yearly payment to be able to reset for $249 and $129 for DJI Battery Chip. you charge £15 so you have to do 16 resets a year before you start making money. If you have a business it could be worth while, but the only time you make money from it is resetting, the rest of the time you are working for free, or the extra margin of a new battery.

For the customers who repair batteries occasionally we usually offer discounts, promotions, etc. :) Note that a Macbook Battery Genuine costs a lot. DJI ? There are DJI batteries that cost more than the license price per year. Expensive ? There are other softwares that cost 1000$ per year, just software.
The investment and running costs are relevant only in relation to the value to the customer, the volume, and if that generates profit or not. Doesn't matter how much something costs if a business is making money with it. You aren't wrong. I don't do anything for £15. 🙂
@@nipembedded9976 you dont need to jump to channels, pages... to defend yourself against customers and users. If it is logical to buy then they will find reasons to buy it you can sure about that.

@@nipembedded9976 If you have a business with multiple shops, yes you may make some money but you need a skilled techie to operate this tool. Even Sorin here fumbles a bit on his 12 minute edited vid, so not 100% intuitive, to due to irregular use. Would guess 75%+ of the batteries are just old.
Also if you sell the old checker box for over $100, then you can buy a new box and licence for less than a new package including a years licence. There could be benefit to some just having the box, and just buying new batteries
The type of person that uses 3rd party repair often wants 'cheap', and most will purchase new apple compatible from Amazon, plus get a no quibble guarantee, rather than new batteries from Apple.
Since Sorin charges no fix-no fee, it could be worth while for us to send Sorin the battery, and possibly even purchase a working new battery though Sorin (or an affiliate link), should he offer the service?

To me it is crazy when the software stops the very action that will fix the problem it detected, and as a result felt the need to shut down the battery to protect it !!!

Hello Sorin ! always impressing ! why not using a little hot air to dismount the plastic film ? I was thinking that a more generic tool would be interestiing (I mean one that could help with bycicles and scooter batteries, wha can read large batteries and power banks ? I am under the impression that the chipsets for scooter or bycicle, may not have much evolved functions , they only use the charging and discharging info obtained from within 18650 or othe LiIon am I right ? (no security linked to brands like on laptops) that said the solution at the moment is to locate the wrong cells assembly, then dismount to test the cells individually with RI tester and a tool like Master Cell Charger (Romania too ;) then remount or replace with similar condition batteries) ALl the, best and thank you again for those inspiring moments ! at the moment I only fing 'smart BMS, balancer, and their software, but they dont go as deep as that one of courser
these TI BQ series smart battery controlling systems really love to lock your battery for some random reasons

in cells check have te option to revive over discarged battery. Before opening can you tray revive 3 4 time.

precharge current was selected too much, it should be below 0.5a otherwise cells could be damaged and lose capacity

@@nipembedded9976 The license is too expensive, and the fact that you have to pay a license yearly is a red flag already enough to avoid it, even if the license was cheap.
For that price its cheaper and better to get new batteries.
@@testingtester6908 It is expensive for you maybe but it is not an expensive device at all, actually it is the cheapest and the best on the market. Show me a better and cheaper device. Reset License has the price of two Macbook batteries while my customers are repairing tens in a day, count how many are they repairing in 365 days :) But yaaa... it is better to buy 3-4 clone-poor batteries and throw away the genuine ones, that are perfect for the planet.
i am here , recently my Lenovo T470 batteries suddenly, shown message the batteries failed to charge it. it something new message i never see before, to me , 18650 battery wont died itself, unless it was like the old iphone , they locked the batteries 🤔🤔🤔

hi i have a laptop battery that changes no more then 3%, what do u think the problem is ? i installed HWinfo to start monitoring it , i see it getting to 3.5% ich then come down to 2.7% ich and repeat. that's really weird !!!!
I have a lenovo b590, and the battery is locked only chargue original battery.
I thought a lot were having a chip that needs a password inputted for unlocking.
Everything is handled by the software.
