This scares me a bit, some people end up scamming because it makes the most money. (A few hundred dollars per month, most of it would go to the bosses) but some scam companies would go so far as to kidnap and seriously harm their own scammers. I feel sorry for the ones trapped in an impossible situation. Not saying this is happening here but important to remember.

@yomanink their management being intimidating doesn't decrease the severity of their wrongdoing. Not even by 1%. Also, these scammers almost always only get paid a cut of the money they steal. Management can't get mad at them if they aren't paid an hourly rate or wasting company resources.
Also, if the management was competent, they would probably be able to get a legal career hehe
Edit: it may seem different, but what they do is exactly the same as stealing cash out of someone else's wallet. This may even be worse, considering they target the elderly.

It's because these scammers don't work alone. They work in networks of scammers, it's like a job. There are hierarchies that is why sometimes they pass the call to other people. Callers are at the bottom of the hierarchy, and they need to do a certain number of scams to get paid and get bonuses. By losing this scam and the money, this scammer just lost a ton of money.That's why he says he ruined his life.

I work in a call centre where calls are recorded and everything you say anything like that on the phone and the customer will get up to €1000 for traumatic damages, it has happened in companies I have seen which I will not name but for one piece of misinformation that can still be €30 each time. Real companies will not have agents even raise their voice
