The problem with Boat is that they import almost everything made in China, which ultimately reduces the cost for them as well as for the customers. Now since they are a profit making company right now, I hope that they would consider moving their manufacturing facility from China to India instead of directly outsourcing a finished product from China and putting up their brand-name, that they have been doing for the last few years. Mivi, another Indian wearable brand on the other hand is already manufacturing ear-buds, speakers etc here in India.

I have used a boat product before it was not a good experience throughout most of the people i know have the similar experience so far. 100% manufacturing in india still distant dream companies must invest more on innovation specifically for indian market.

In Jan of 2021, they raised $100 million investment from Warburg Pincus and are using the capital to make this happen. I don't personally know what stage of shifting from China to India they are in, and I have never used one of their products so I can't comment on the quality, but hopefully this wasn't all just a publicity move and they're actually taking serious steps to moving their manufacturing to India. -Caleb

I live in India True That! 🙂 Have been living in Bengaluru since last 3.5 years and then previously was in Delhi for a year. Before COVID all of our videos on this channel were interviews, where I was driving around the city on my scooter and shooting 2 interviews per week. It is also a matter of scale. Mosambee, profitable for 6 years, generated an EBT of $4M+ on a topline of $16M, generated using just $2M VC money. Could the numbers have been (say) 10 times? Will never know given that Pine Labs (also a profitable startup at scale, BTW) acquired Mosambee. Zerodha, Zoho, FreshDesk and BrowserStack etc. are of course, rockstars.

Would be nice if you mention the profit margins instead of just the numerical value of profit. It doesn't really make sense only to mention the numeric value as it is hard to benchmark
You make great informative videos, keep up the good work. Just though to mention that you might want to invest in a mini teleprompter. It will drastically cut down your recording time so you can read off the prompter while recording. There should be something to go with your phone or camera to maintain eye contact.
