That's a really good question, Shashwat. From what I've noticed - there are usually two types of companies here. One that's registered in Singapore or some other place but it actually working in India. And the second are the ones headquartered in the US mostly. For the startups of the first kind usually do this to avoid taxes. Tax rates in India are higher than countries like Singapore. With Startup India, there have been some positive changes towards this. But also consider the fact that Singapore is ranked #2 in terms of 'Ease of Doing Business' and India is ranked #63. Which means it's a lot easier to do start a business in Singapore than it is in India. As for the second type of startups, these are usually SaaS startups which starts operating out of India but have most of their customers in the US. These companies decide to move their headquarters to the US after getting funding to move closer to their investors and customers. I hope this gives you some clarity. -Varun

Many of my friends started their career in Byjus but they weren't able to survive even 1 year because of the pressure and unethical practises.
