That's how it is no matter what is is majority of the time a decent wired IEM has better sound quality and mic quality then ALMSOT any wireless headphones or wireless earbuds below 300 bucks. It's hard to beat anything that gets fed direct power.
The device is not piping analog audio through usb-c, a dac inside the earpods cable supports hi res audio streams. Still, it's earpods tho so why even bother with hi res audio. The mic sounds good at least.
@@Samjacknewman lossless audio via bluetooth doesn't exist yet, max you can do is stream up to 990kbps with the LDAC codec and that ain't lossless audio even though it's marketed as “hi-res wireless”. Lossless audio starts from CDQ 16bit/44.1 khz which is 1441 kbps and you need a streaming service that can provide that files like Tidal or Apple Music for example, Spotify provide compressed files up to mp3 320kbps
audio engineer here. the sound enhancement does not need to be on if you are listening to lossless because to put it in layman’s terms, it basically is adding detail to lower quality audio. also as many have said, you do not need usbc earphones to get lossless. any wired headphones can support lossless. the audio loss is caused by bluetooth, that’s why most bluetooth headphones like airpods don’t have lossless but the wires do.
Thank you for the feedback and expertise , however the usbc earpods sound better than the beat headphones that were also plugged in with a 3.5mm jack in the video, and the earpods. I listen to all 3 headphones on normal middle high and sound enhancer off. Which might be hard to tell in a 1 minute video. I also later compared the all of apples wired buds in my next short video. The usbc wired buds still sounded different on the mic and ear piece on the buds. Once again all of that might not translate in a minute video. Thanks again.

Actually that’s not true. Some wired products are digital not analog. Some of these digital products don’t support lossless audio. That typically means USB devices.

Another thing of to note is high res lossless music does not make that much of a difference, compared from going to mp3 320kbps to a lossless cd quality flac, you also cannot change a mp3 into a lossless file, it doesn't work that way

My boy! Cables are amazing eh? I believe they support lossless because of the cable! They don't have to encode the music over Bluetooth and decode it, you can send any res signal over a wire, not Bluetooth, also great choice man!!! Would you buy wireless airpods if you had the wired ones first?
Actually the digital to analog converter in these headphones are really good. For wireless audio the only format that can support lossless wireless audio over Bluetooth is LDAC which is made by Sony and usually be found on Android phones in terms of phones not all android but some.
They’re most definitely not. Moondrop chu would like a word 🤣. They give 100$ iem sound at 20 bucks. I was very impressed with them when I picked up a pair from Amazon. Definitely worth it if you only buy 20$ headphones. So much better than the Apple EarPods.
Probably the most worth it product coming from Apple, very clean and neutral sounding on par with the more expensive AirPods, heck they even sounded the same, and the mic sounds good too.
EarPods are the absolute best bang for your buck as far as audio goes, both for the earbuds and the mic. A massive glow up from the old 3.5mm earbuds they would ship with iPods.
I run a gaming discord channel and the amount of poor quality mic action and related sound is astonishing. Astonishing because iPods and other higher end devices tend to all suck in comparison to the simple wired alternatives. Nice to see this little comparison as it vindicates my own experiences
Kinda... That used to be true. But now the DAC (the thing that turns the digital 1's and 0's into analogue for the speakers) is no longer in the phone. With USB-C headphones it's in the cable. Not all DAC's support lossless. Another thing to be aware of is even if it does support lossless it's not necessarily a great quality DAC. I still use a Note 9 which has a 3.5mm jack and despite its internal DAC being good quality, I bought an external USB-C to 3.5mm DAC that surprised me, it sounds noticeably clearer. Basically now days you need to consider both the DAC and the speakers.

Don't turn the sound enhancer on it just messes everything up. And you need to adjust the sampling frequency in the MIDI audio setup app

Not true. LDAC is 990kbps max 330kbps min and lossless is 1456kbps minimum. Or 1.5 times the best of the best wireless. It is the cable.
