Unable to get to see her en-route from London today, so dropped into youtube to see if anything had been posted yet - not yet, but I guess there will be many by the end of today. Came across your wonderful video of the iconic loco in beautiful countryside - thank you! Seeing the BBC news footage this morning, I'm in favour of the green.
Cracking shots in the snow Phil, quite a fall you've had up there. The drone flyers are so selfish, don't consider anyone else. I did like the non railway shot down the river, that would make a lovely print
Gorgeous entertaining video captured in glorious winter atmosphere. Shame about the drone's interception - bloody things should be flown at 30,000ft where the pilot requires oxygen. Many thanks - great stuff once again. Henry
Superb footage in stunning Wintery conditions Phil.... I agree with Austin these Drone Flyers are selfish..Unfortunately they will be more commonplace before long.....Hopefully a fad that will eventually fade away !! Andrei put it well about a Shotgun ha ha...Best wishes and thanks for making the effort to film this for our enjoyment ....Steve,-:)
I'm a drone flyer myself and I completely understand some of the comments about how they might affect others recordings. if everyone is fair you can get great line side footage and great areal footage too. I filmed the Scotsman on Saturday morning and I don't believe I inconvenienced anyone line side because I kept a respectable distance. I hope a few inconsiderate people don't spoil it for the rest.
You seem to manage to get it sounding the best. Though it was worth the trip for the shot at 1:54 alone, it doesn't even need a train. There's going to be a big increase in sales of shotguns among linesiders if these drones proliferate, or at least if they don't make them a bit less noisy.
Those things are supposed to be smoke deflectors, but I recently watched a clip of him about to depart, I forget from where. He whooshed steam and smoke all over the place. Those things are useless and they're not part of his heritage. Get rid of them!
Train locomotive engine. However you put it he comes out in first place every time. He has a fascinating history which clearly speaks for itself. Flying Scotsman. A prize worth saving.
Lovely video but that drone is a pain, think it was the one that affected some of my videos yesterday. They don't consider other trying to record audio as well as video on the line side, think they should be banned!
+981smithy they are things to work around and if the operator is being considerate then yes they are only quiet for a few minutes but yesterday and a few times before they fly them along side the locos and that spoils things for everyone.
Great video Phil - but that drone and all future dronist be more considerate and responsible in future - your NOT CLEVER !!! your a pain !!!!! Keep up the god work Phil.

+AndreiTupolev Thanks for watching and I think dronees will sadly become increasingly more common at popular locations.
flying snowman ;)
+BPJ John (HEADCRAB ZOMBIE) Thanks for watching.
Great stuff, and for as much as I'd like to see the drone footage the noise of it was somewhat annoying
+Ian Holmes Thank you for watching.
i prefer green and when does it have those sides on the smokebox?
+Nuke Bro Thanks for watching.
Those things are supposed to be smoke deflectors, but I recently watched a clip of him about to depart, I forget from where. He whooshed steam and smoke all over the place. Those things are useless and they're not part of his heritage. Get rid of them!
Was the class 31 there just as a precaution ?
+bikerpeavey Thanks for watching and the 31 was on the train for train heating
Thanks for the reply.
A lovely wintery scene but spoilt somewhat by the drone, the sign of things to come unfortunately.
+pistonvalve Thanks for watching.

+tridentmusic Nice idea and thanks for watching.

+sniperal Thanks for watching and the drone is a thing to work around but you only get a few seconds when they take flight!!!
