@@elkay6533 In principle, I agree. But in practice, fuck the pot physics. I'd spend 5 minutes to get the bands, but I can't roll pots for more than 30 seconds without punching my monitor. I'd love to be able to pick up & drop the pots with E, so it'd still be a time investment without all the rage.

bro i hate pot rolling so much, it literally kills my run every time i attempt it, even with black hole it is so irritating to try to get the pots on for 15 minutes, give up, then die on the next stage.
My personal favorite is Sanctuary, the DLC stage 2. Idk why but it's just so cleanly designed and fun. I do really like how you took into account enemies, boss items, and loot weight. I was expecting only design of the map itself
I think it’s interesting how ror2 maps are favored by different people. For example I am completely fine with wetland aspect, but I absolutely despise sulfur pools, so much so that I get newt alter every time and dream of a different map. I hate the visuals of splotchy green and orange, I hate the pockets of poison, and the only tolerable enemy is the beetle. However, many people I’ve talked to are fine with it, and I just thought it was cool how almost every person I’ve talked to has a different favorite map.
I personally love sulfur pools, it's a terrifyingly difficult map, but in exchange you get one of the easiest loot routes in the entire game. Sometimes on sulfur I can have the entire map looted before 5 minutes is up, if I get good enemy spawns
completely agree with you there. wetlands was annoying when i was newer but i don't have too much trouble on it anymore. sulfur pools i dont hate as much as i did on first impressions. least favorite thing on it besides the colors is that the teleporter can spawn in those cramped tunnels and its very annoying if im playing railgunner or acrid
sulfur pools enemies are much less difficult simply because it has both beetles AND alpha construct doing absolutely nothing. Although templars and BG are ass, and teleporter positions can be wack
Aphelian sanctuary made me admit that Clay Templars are actually... not that bad at stage 2! At that point the director struggles to spawn them (Templars and Apothecaries) often and when it does it means it spawns a lot less of everything else. Clay dudes and goblins are more expensive to spawn than Elder Lemurians. It's like when you get to stage 3 and you find a lonely greater wisp looking at you. They are a credit dump.
Rallypoint Delta is still A tier in my book. Yeah the rats are stupid, but it's so nice being able to easily see where chests are, and the snow theme is beautiful.
9:48 The shield phase is actually interesting. It's like an engineer shield. So you get in there and keep killing it while the shield protects you from other enemies. That unless the construct flies too hight and you can't reach it.
Thats my problem, 95% of the time when it shields its a mile in tbe sky and flies 10 miles away from the teleporter. Very annoying even if it is a very easy boss
Sundered so high is criminal, its like a revamped wetland but the enemies compared to the other stage 4s is insane. Imo should have switched spots with aphelian
correction for around 4:20, you're only getting less loot than on siphoned forest if you spawn at distant roost. it has the same amount of interactable credits as titanic plains now
I mean from what I know you don't get less loot for the number of credits. You get less loot because you can get Shrines of Woods for a total of two non-loot shrines, instead of one in titanic plains. The same that happens in Siren's call.
@@TheLeviathan1293 Pretty much this. The total amount of time ive played ror2 is no longer then a few days but in that time this map broke 3 different times 2 being from the teleporter being spawned in an unopened cargo container and another me getting glitched under the ground.

IMO: Alphelian sanctuary has the potential to be in S-tier. I think there is only a single thing holding it back and that is its lack of cover. Inserting a few barricades around the map would: (A) Allow you to hide and bait Clay Templars. (B) Provide highground from Blind Vermin. (C) Make Clay Dunstriders and Wandering Vagrants more avoidable.
Really enjoyed this one! After having all those videos about secret tech and difficult tricks to pull off it's very refreshing to see a list based on visuals, soundtrack, lore and overall enjoyment. Awesome work!
How can you look at the credits and intractable spawn rates for each map? I know the wiki has an out of date page on it, but is it possible to browse the game files for up to date info?
Am I the only one who gets an odd amount of lag on sulfur pools. Like everything before and after the stage is fine, but whenever I get to sulfur my performance just dips dramatically.
Behind the locked door on Siphoned Forest there is a bridge that goes past the teleport zone and kinda looks like the one from the first game so maybe there was going to be something there but decided to go in a different direction or didn't have enough time and just blocked it off like in Siren's Call.
9:44 Invincibility phase? This guy hasn't been alive for more than 10-15 seconds every single run I meet him, for all I knew he just flies around and summons his 4 turrents on him
I have a love-hate relationship with Abandoned Aqueduct. While its design is interesting, and the teleporter has yet to infuriate me (looking at you, Wetland Aspect), the fact that the bands exist is a pain. Potrolling can feel downright Sisyphean sometimes and it's the closest I've come to crying in frustration from playing a video game, and yet I also feel obligated to try for it whenever I play because uh oh, two free bands is too good to turn down!
I still think that Scorched Acres is F-Tier. There is a very good chance you just cannot access the Bazaar if it spawns in one of the two out-of-bounds places.
It's weird that you say Sundered Grove is the map where runs go to die, because this map is surprisingly chill compared to Siren's Call, which in all the time I've spent playing Ecilpse has ended my run's pretty consistently.
I personally would shuffle some around because of the newt locations I can remember, and siren's call would go up a few tiers because I play mostly multiplayer, but still a solid list and I never really considered boss items to be a huge factor in liking a map :)
Did everyone forget Grandparent could do praise the sun pre dlc? Because I swear this is the second time I’ve heard the DLC be credited with making grandparents have that attack. It’s been there since Grandparents were added

Also when it was the only stage 4, and there was no stage 5 lmao
Haha, Depths is one of my most hated maps in the game to the point of considering modding it out, too bad sundered grove is even worse.
5:08 just goes to show how subjective it is ig but scorched is one of my fav maps visually. don't really know why exactly? it has smthn goin on with it but i couldnt really tell u what honestly
I love all your content and honestly really appreciate seeing your opinions on aspects of this game as a hardened veteran so whatever it is you’re putting out keep it up
10:38 this area also has a banger soundtrack, love hearing it any run
My opinion of the map imoroved after the DLC dropped, just cuz the music. F tier to B tier lmfao
Watching acrid do the floss made my brain implode
Siphoned forest over titanic plains? Opinion rejected. My savage goons will be paying you a visit soon.
IMO: Alphelian sanctuary has the potential to be in S-tier. I think there is only a single thing holding it back and that is its lack of cover.
Inserting a few barricades around the map would:
(A) Allow you to hide and bait Clay Templars.
(B) Provide highground from Blind Vermin.
(C) Make Clay Dunstriders and Wandering Vagrants more avoidable.
4:25 IM NOT CRAZY! I was doing the rex dunked achievement and could never find a consistent newt altar on any roost map!!
Sundered Grove is my favourite map. Why? They Might As Well Be Dead.
Also Gup.
The background music boutta make me finally beat Undertale passive mode 🙏🏻
Really enjoyed this one! After having all those videos about secret tech and difficult tricks to pull off it's very refreshing to see a list based on visuals, soundtrack, lore and overall enjoyment. Awesome work!
12:30 I can't tell if this Merc skin is bait or not
How can you look at the credits and intractable spawn rates for each map? I know the wiki has an out of date page on it, but is it possible to browse the game files for up to date info?
Am I the only one who gets an odd amount of lag on sulfur pools. Like everything before and after the stage is fine, but whenever I get to sulfur my performance just dips dramatically.
I was going to say that too! I'd like sulfur pools much more if it didn't tank my fps
me too, I usually have no major performance issues but when I'm in the pools, the game starts lagging
God I want them to add another 5th stage, I’m so tired of sky meadows
Sundered grove got such a glow up with the ost change
Behind the locked door on Siphoned Forest there is a bridge that goes past the teleport zone and kinda looks like the one from the first game so maybe there was going to be something there but decided to go in a different direction or didn't have enough time and just blocked it off like in Siren's Call.
9:44 Invincibility phase? This guy hasn't been alive for more than 10-15 seconds every single run I meet him, for all I knew he just flies around and summons his 4 turrents on him
Same lmfao
sundered grove really became goated as hell when elder lems got replaced with gup
One of my favorite maps is the Void Locus because it doesn't matter if you have a god run, if you mess up while charging the cells, you're done
Well said. We needed more non-negotiable challenges like that imo
What da acrid doin
I have a love-hate relationship with Abandoned Aqueduct. While its design is interesting, and the teleporter has yet to infuriate me (looking at you, Wetland Aspect), the fact that the bands exist is a pain. Potrolling can feel downright Sisyphean sometimes and it's the closest I've come to crying in frustration from playing a video game, and yet I also feel obligated to try for it whenever I play because uh oh, two free bands is too good to turn down!
Seeing the characters dance and attack simultaneously tickle me funny bone
I am sorry I had to watch the video twice to get my eyes off your sick breakdancing
what is that heckin mod at the start of the video with Acrid flopping all over the place, I NEED IT ples
Why is Void Fiend busting it down disrespectfully at 3:54
What mods are you using
My favourite is definitely abandoned aqueduct, so iconic
I still think that Scorched Acres is F-Tier. There is a very good chance you just cannot access the Bazaar if it spawns in one of the two out-of-bounds places.
Who cares, map looks beautiful
why was acrid break dancing in the beginning and why was it fitting🤣
Sundered grove is honestly one of my favorites, it’s so pretty and I love flying around it with high mobility characters
It's weird that you say Sundered Grove is the map where runs go to die, because this map is surprisingly chill compared to Siren's Call, which in all the time I've spent playing Ecilpse has ended my run's pretty consistently.
Both of them are very difficult maps compared to Depths.
2:33 meanwhile captains trying to get hacking beacon unlocked occupy the other 10% of runs that get rallypoint XD
thick mercenary pog
New sundered music _does_ slap
Why the hell is no one talking about the acrid brakedancing from 0:00 to 0:40
The outro was 👌
I personally would shuffle some around because of the newt locations I can remember, and siren's call would go up a few tiers because I play mostly multiplayer, but still a solid list and I never really considered boss items to be a huge factor in liking a map :)
what song is that playing at the end?
this was a good video no stress
Did everyone forget Grandparent could do praise the sun pre dlc? Because I swear this is the second time I’ve heard the DLC be credited with making grandparents have that attack. It’s been there since Grandparents were added
no youre right it was a thing pre dlc, but it wasnt really a threat and was often times more helpful than anything, it got buffed in the DLC
@@DisputedOrigin wait Damn they buffed it? Assuming it was one of the unnoted changes with the initial release of the dlc
@@mroofity6594 It was indirectly buffed because of the changes to the burn debuff
The ending was really cool
Rallypoint was always my favorite, it makes me sad that it's just so much worse. I still think it's my favorite aesthetically, and it plays favorite track in the game, but the enemies and that darned drone really drag it down
Well these are pretty cool bananas.
Urn is one of the best boss items. It's no charged perforator or shatterspleen but it's miles better than planula!
oh for sure, i think it depends on the survivor, but Urn definitely has a place
