I successfully back flushed my heater core with rad flush and a garden hose.
Look around your area using usps p.o box finder. One part of town here in gulfport ms wanted 120 for a p.o box but another post office 4.5 miles away wanted 85 for same size box. Now i have 1 that is only 70 for 12 months.
Most equalizers use little plastic sleeves on bolts as a wear guide. So does the springs . Don’t forget all new bolts an nuts when you replace equalizers
Hi, Steve:
Yup. I'm the one that mentioned the shock absorber kits that are available. They will help everything else stay functioning well.
Also: if you buy equalizers: dont cheap out. Get good ones like mor ryde that have four rubber snubbers, and wet bolts that allow you to grease at the equalizer, and all the springs where they mount.
Also: just spend the $ to have your new tires balanced professionally, then buy the Centramatic wheel balancers for both the truck and trailer wheels.
This way you will tow for several years without mishaps.
I'm the old timer that's always pulling for you Steve.
Michael Rzewuski
you better be glad the d.o.t. man didnt see that broken spring or it would have been bad.. keep on grinding man
hardest workinhg man on youtube
You need to put pins in your suspension that you can grease. That helps keep everything from wearing prematurely.
I used to be very tight with my money. There's definitely a middle ground. I bring coffee and lunch but will go out and have a good time with friends without worrying about spending money anymore. Gotta enjoy life, you don't know how many days you will get.
👍👍👍👍 life can change REAL FAST,
Coolant flush/ descaling. Drain your coolant fill with 50/50 water and vinegar run up to temp let sit overnight drain flush with clean water then drain and replace with coolant.
Like I said sell the white truck and put it into the black truck like a new turbo and the middle axle takes the most load and pivots so also buy a beefier bushing and do the work yourself or find a better shop but the caps is easy go with rubber or tap a line in the lip to make it where it will grab the housing but stay on the maintenance cause break downs will kill your wallet and most things no matter needed or not always have 2 spares of for each side so 2 to 4 wheel bearing 2 to 4 spare trailer tires and 2 spare truck tires and always have breaks pads but hope this helps so you don't have down time or waiting on parts....
Remember as a business owner your time is valuable, if you spend to much time doing cleaning and maintenance, you may save a few bucks but you are not doing anything to make you more money... Sometimes it's better to pay someone a few bucks to do small task so you can have more time in your day to do more important things... That's just my opinion
Cant make everyone happy and the ones that matter are u and your family! Keep doing what u love and what makes u happy and gets u closer to your goals that u started at the beginning of the year.
Yes take the 4500
Is an oil leak a possible out of service ?
Steve if the crank has a little bit of a groove in the sealing area.Cummins sales a crank seal that has a wear slevee that goes onto to the crank to give you a new sealing surface.
Actually perfect circle been making them since the early 70s for chevy engines with higher mileage on crankshaft . They also make a double lip seal so it seals in two locations on crankshaft
Redneck Trailer Supply in Springfield Mo... Has the best parts around for trailers any size... Check them out..
Man I’ve disconnected the hoses to a heater core before and dumped straight flush in it and then added some CLR to top it off and only enough water to push all of it into the core and let it sit overnight. Hooked a water hose to it the next day and so much crap came out
there are no extra business writeoffs for an llc. its a pass through entity. the only value to an llc is some limited liability protection.
I remember a driver I used to work with. He owned everything, house, cars, no credit cards. Every payday he had a check to put in his account. He paid his house bills and had some left over. He was buying farm land with his paychecks to build his residual income.
Go for it
Steve I'd like to talk to you about the investment thing.
Ups does that with my packages all the time if they don't want to deliver that day they will use a bolonga excuse
You made a good decision 👍👍👍👍👍👏
Great video Steve 🇺🇲
There's a real nice 5500 in California that will be replaced in 4-5 months. You know the one I'm talking about... Talk to Sam. I just replaced all the brake assemblies, bushings and equalizers on my trailer. Been over 2 years since I bought it new.
You might try putting a little silicone around Your Dust Caps when You put them on and that should keep them from falling off as often. Keep up the good work! 👍
Brass insert bushings and greaseable bolts last longer
Is the oil leak a possible out of service ?
I don't think so
@@CPSteveMiller thanks my 08 6.4 has a leak . Just got my IFTA sticker Friday . Ready to get out . Well have last carpentry project to do . 34 x 24 second floor. Thinking. Of using a dispatch service at first so I can focus on driving and other aspects of the business . Your thought .
They probly ran your thru for the length law
Moryde CRE 3000 equalizers, with heavy duty shackles and wet bolts. Best thing you will ever do. I drilled and tapped a 6/32 set screw into the cast iron hub where it can drive into the hub cover.
If the guy has to go get a loan to buy it, don't hold your breath.
I payed $5000 for a 2500 4x4,short box, roller in late Oct 2020 (no rust). Selling dosen't make sense to me but you have to pay storage on the white truck as well (I do not).
I did the heater core and the heater doors(my doors were broken). The whole dash comes out and A/C discharged (I'm sure you know this already).
Twisting that trailer to park it loaded is killing the suspension
Everything looks alright on your equalizer it's just a axial-flow
Try to reverse flush the heater core, some times it works👍🏻
Same no heat issue in my 2014, 6.7. I did the reverse flush to no avail. Got tired of being cold. Isolated the heater core, and circulated Muriatic acid through the core. Flushed with water and repeated 4x. So much crap came out! I have heat👍
I think your springs are slipper on one end, in which case you may only need to replace the bushings in the one spring eye to get it tighter.
Sell the white truck.
Take care.
I Agree with broncocarl
If it's heating up enough for heat at idle but air flow cools it down, Make a diverting panel for the radiator that blocks like half of it off (or less/more obviously that will be up to what the truck wants)
You can try running hot water backwards through the heater core with CLR in it. Sometimes it’ll clear up these mopar heater cores.
It is a great idea to save money. Remember it always makes sense to spend less, only buy something if you need it. When you get a “tax write off” just for the sake of doing it you are spending a dollar to save 30 cents.
LOVE THE VIDEOS
They don't sell flex seal at cummins. Flex seal stops oil leaks. The white truck wouldn't of leaked oil and got you a violation remember that.
If he turns up with the cash take it
Yes freedom is a way to go i do the same thing no new thing u right buying new house ain't my thing I live.in a converted bus all the amenities like people buy new house keep doing what u doing bro God bless 🙏 💯
I was watching this RUclipsr he has a 12v in a newer like truck and he used a felpro front main seal from like auto zone … might be cheaper than a genuine Cummins 🤔🤷🏻♂️
Dont know if it applies to you but Im in a different business but have been getting a few requests for a w9 form from companies I work for. I think it is for amount paid to you over 500 dollars .Deadline is Feb,1st
You from beaver falls?
Steve your videos are amazing thanks. God bless you
Oh custom bol’s … high fluten
That's why a lot of people who start a business can't make a go of it and their business fails, because when their business starts to make money they spend money on "toys they don't need instead of saving and investing in their business.
Yeeee let’s goooo
You could try and back flush out your heater core with clr
I can’t tell on equalizer. Is it worn bad? Or normal unloaded play? They need to have room to move under load. Is it bolt area or free end?
They are slipper springs some of the movement is normal.
if you have heat at idle and no heat at engine speeds while driving your head gasket is starting to leak or a cracked head and its putting air into the cooling system, also it looks like the spring eye bushing is worn out.
There's not a spec of air in the coolant. It's the heater core. The heat is only good at idle if the exhaust brake is on. If not, no heat. What's the part number or link to those bushings? I have no idea which ones to order
@@CPSteveMiller you would have to find the spring for your trailer and then find the bushing for it, you might want to check the location of your heater core hoses, one should be at the rear of the head/block and the other at the water pump area
Winch cable idea, get them rollers like on v bottom boat trailers, weld some steel where needed an mount roller, them being tapered to center would keep cable centered
I get like ten texts a day from so called ppl advertising their dispatching services … be glad to forward to anyone that wants’m
Don't sell it keep it 💯
E trailer usually has a good price for trailer parts
On your dust caps on the trailer egg shape them a little and that my fix your problem with them getting loose I’m a retired OTR driver and I think your doing a good job 👍
I know the bushings look worn out and i think they are too, but the middle axle is not sitting on the ground like the front and rear so it will appear to have much more movement because its not sitting on the ground also.
Might be time to pull a tow piglet and swap in a new axle
Instead of doing shocks do sumo Springs for trailers
Everyone needs to experience hutch suspension. Props to you guys running the smaller axles and equalizers, it seems there an extreme wear item across RUclips and social media.
Triple axle is harder on trailer than tandem axles When turning/ jackknifing
Nobody said they weren’t.
If you sell it you'll regret it. I can't stand people who say "everything is for sale". I've got 3 trucks that I wouldn't sell period. LoL.
The money would pay off the trailer..... or at least close....
You should really think about going to a 14 ply tire. I know you don't haul the wait for it but it's way more indestructible. I'm really enjoying your channel I'm a new subscriber. I come from a hot shot family in Alberta Canada.
Try back flushing your heater core there are videos on RUclips explaining how to do it hope this helps
Try flushing it first that may help it out on your heater core I done that and got a couple of months out of it before I had to replace it
Tri axle will float one or the other Axel Amino it looks level that's the good thing about a tri-axle
Just back flush with water and some pressure on the heater core and save time and money
Hell I’d give 5 grand for it
How does Dot not say anything about the straight pipe? Im putting all the emissions back on my due to emission testing.
12 valves dont have emissions and the turbo is considered the muffler.
Once again let some CLR Calcium Lime and Rust remover sit in your heater core for half an hour and back flush It may take a few times.
Why don't hot shots use c 60s are they to slow ? Or just not right style trucks I've wondered
To heavy, the whole point of hotshot is to stay under 26k lbs. A c 60 is a heavy truck = less freight.
So are you swapping the rear seat before you sell it? Also I'm wondering if you can make a lift axle set up for the tri-axle for easier maneuvering
2 WORDS...... "COURTESY FLUSH!!!" ... 😆
👍👍
Peen the inside of the dust covers with a SHARP punch.
Hey cp steve Miller a nother really awesome videos on your channel u are awesome RUclipsr and u put out the best content on your channel u are awesome hotshot trucker keep up the great work u definitely my favorite RUclipsr ever i hope your next truck will be 2 wheel drive 😀 it be awesome if u put a sleeper on it and haul your trailer too i whish u keep the white truck
Those equalizers ... my dad put some really nice cushioned ones for his camper and they had some that were good for 7k axles too and bigger I think as well
Take it from someone who stayed in debt for most of my life. When you are making payments you are paying someone else's residual income. Pay off everything you can.
Hi Steve, You keep saying you are going to mount and balance the trailer wheels. Are you planning on balancing the trailer wheels? Watching you moving the axles it appears the adjustment has you middle axle carrying more weight than the front and rear. Have you weighed them individually? Stay well.
I'm going to cdl permit in3 days.
Only thing that sucks, won’t see it get power washed-lol
Torque axle are the best, invest in them, those shacles suck.... Get a 5500 with a sleeper!!!!!
When all the weight is on that ver back axle the front ones will be slack like that
The bushing are pretty much gone in the front. In both the equalizer and the front of the spring hanger
Right on hard to tell from video
I would sell it for 5000.
Sorry brotha I really wanted that engine hoist but had some crap come up unexpectedly and just can't get it at the moment... but that is a great price if you still have it in a week or 2 I'll def take it.. but love the videos brotha your doing great.....
You need to watch your turns. Shimmy even if you feel like a fool. The middle axle will keep failing because of pivot pressure.
Get shocks. Put nylon cutting boards over your cross members to not rub through winch lines.
A 5500 puts you in a totally different place with the DOT.
If you can get the 5 grand maybe take it and get something else in better shape.. no matter what I got your back and will watch your vids no matter what happens.. I'm a loyal fan
I would go ahead and take the backseat out and put your back seat back in it out of your black truck so you could have that split it seat
Buy the truck after your debt is payed off and buildt it over the winter. Now you need money and at the end of the year you can buy it as an big writeoff.
Attach a sub chapter s to your llc man, im not sure you understand how write offs work.. with a chapter S you are essentially an employee, so you can pay yourself as a w2 employee, i even have a 401k with 6% company match, thats tax free cash going towards my retirement
Id sell it you can always find another truck.
If you can get four or five out of that truck I would sell it in a hurry wait till later on in the year find something else that you can build that can make money and start again then because imagine how much extra help that for $5,000 would be right now to try to get some of the purchases you want to get out of the way without actually having to come out of your physical income pocket
Don’t sell bro don’t do it lol
dot can also get you for no heat
It’s not no heat … it’s actually non-working defrost as in being able to keep windshield viewable and also non working or severely degraded wipers
No heat is fine, its the no defrost that they could have an issue about though.
next time i need to defrost an ice windshield ill make sure to use my ac with no heat to keeg my wipers from building ice when i drive
Yeah I use JJ Keller lol but way back when it was only them n omnitracks n ppl net … and since all those things at truck stops say JJ Keller … easy choice 🤷🏻♂️
Furst runner up
