Great video! I just discovered how amazing sponge+pressed powder works, and I can't believe it's not more common! It's SO FAST to apply that it almost feels like cheating, and it gives a much natural finish than loose powder imo.
This just popped up & I am one the ones really interested in the new sponge. Looks great! I’m interested in trying it out with my Studio Fix powder foundation

I used this sponge and foundation today and WOW what a difference. I’ve used this foundation with a brush and with the sponge that comes with it, which pretty sure I’ve over applied with these methods because it would look dry and cakey after an hour. Today, my makeup lasted all day (like 12+ hours. No joke). Now I did use the Smashbox oil shine primer which most likely helped (first time using that primer today). This foundation routine was the quickest I’ve ever had. And the fact that I have a pretty good shade match helps too.
The sponge would be interesting to try with the BarePro Powder compact. 🤔
Im really impressed with how the sponge applied! Very smooth even looking coverage. Love that eyeshadow color on you! Would love if you tested the sponge on a loose powder just to see 🤷♀️

I’m definitely going to go out and buy that sponge omg!!!! I love that matte foundation and love the sponge it comes with but it’s small and only really good for under the eyes and makes it slower to apply. Wow!!!! Makes me want to buy some powder foundations
Thank you for sharing!! When I've seen these in the store I just thought they were another color of the RT Miracle Complexion Sponge, now I know better!! I am going to have to try these because this would be much more hygienic than a brush because you can wash it after every use and don't have to worry if it is dry yet the next morning.

I used the thin little sponge that comes with the makeup forever matte pressed foundation and it is easy, goes on in 2 seconds and looks fabulous. The fastest easiest foundation I’ve ever used.

I also like to take my real tech liquid sponge and swipe my foundation on instead of bouncing it. I feel like makes my foundation (L’Oréal freshwear) a smoother finish :).
A clean classy look! I like it! It is not too matte.. I think it could be good for a day light makeup, maybe for work days which are long and tiring
Try the Juno sponge. Same thing plus they’re anti microbiology and apply liquid foundation beautifully.

this seems a lot like the shopmissA microfibre sponges which are only like $1.50 - i tried one a few months back and it was nice for powder and cream ✨ the only downside is they can get product buildup if you don’t wash them right away. your finished look was super cute btw 😘

I use that juno rose microfiber sponge for all my powder applications! It's amazing, has a flat side, and looks almost identical! It leaves me smooth and poreless!!!😍 I will have to give this one a try if it's the same price! Can't beat $5! This foundation looks beautiful on you! I'm in love with that NARS raw seduction! It will be my next purchase!😍💋💯💄✨
Hey, it looks great - I think I'm going to try it with that sponge now. :) Question - do you ever use a setting spray? A glowy mist/spray would reduce the matte look a bit, wouldn't it? And make your face feel fresher, too. I love using them to get rid of the powdery look/feel when my makeup is done.
It’s the best applicator for applying powder yet for me, I press it on though.

I just discovered this today because I grabbed my beauty blender to get some powder to set my foundation (which was Dewey but I like that bc my skin is dry on top of sunscreen), because I couldn't find a brush in a pinch and I was like WAIT.... THIS WORKs WELL.

Ooooo.... This looks perfect for my Clinique Beyond Perfecting powder foundation and concealer (long name!!) I love this powder foundation but my skin has been much drier lately so sometimes this looks a bit cakey, I use the sponge that comes with the compact. Edit 2: I got the sponge! I love it for pressed powder foundation. It’s very matte and airbrushed if used full-coverage. We’ll see about the lasting power of this kind of application.
It lasts pretty well!!! With medium coverage it works with my normal-combo skin.

I'm 48 and have a lot of friends who are older. We use Jane Iredale powders and foundations. If you call, they will send you samples of some products.
I like Loose mineral wear from Physicians Formula. If you like more glow, try Laura Gellar. Kathy Aay Beauty tested 19. SugarFluff&Puff has done several vids on powder foundations for mature skin.
You should definitely try applying the Makeup Forever foundation with the little pad it comes with.
That is absolutely the best way to apply it.
Hello I have question. Is the sponge is supposed to be damped when applying the powder foundation? what is the difference between powder foundation and liquid foundation?
What is the benefit to dampening the sponge when using a powder? I understand the logic with a liquid or even a cream, but not a powder, since the powder doesn't soak in to the sponge. How do you think the sponge would work w/o dampening it first?
How was the wear? Can u recommend any drugstore pressed powder foundations?
Just hopping in here.. but I have heard really good things about the JCat Aqua Assurance powder foundation. Not really "drugstore" but it's drugstore prices. You can get it on their website or on Ulta.com I am sure Shelby will chime in here, but thought I would offer up a little info that I have heard.

You do need to do concealer first if you want/need to use it and yes a setting spray after really helps take away the powdery look! Especially something like Mac fix plus!

Isabel Hoyos Apparently it stops the sponge from absorbing too much product. This way the product sits on the surface of the sponge instead of getting absorbed INTO it and also applies the foundation ( or cream or blush ... etc) much better into your skin ☺️
Good question. If she doesn't answer I would try it both damp and dry to see which way the powder foundation applies better.

Shelbey Wilson I would totally agree! I find using a damp sponge does indeed give my normally dry skin a much nicer and dewier finish...
I would have, after applying with the sponge, buff the product in with a brush. Regardless of which pressed powder foundation I use, I always get the best results applying with a sponge then buffing in with a brush.
