Nicknames for the new sub: Golden Hulk, or the Leprechaun
Love your videos keep up the good work I think you’re right about the hog, but I would like to see a green sky dweller
Golden Hulk a.k.a GULK
phirst
The Les Grossman Sub “Flaming Dragon “
"It was just a little bit too cool for us."
Yeah, likely their thinking. A shame. The Hulk became a massive seller so you just know it will re-released in an updated edition for a far higher price.
Leather straps on dive watches is ludicrous. NATO, fine. Rubber, no problem. But leather? Wko takes leather into the ocean?????
For me the no-date-Sub is still the best Sub. Just my opinion.
Yes to the Gold Hulk.
If this happens, I can see the Stainless LV Starbucks being discontinued 😞
The Austin sub…🤣….Why not a platinum sub? Fitting for a 70th platinum anniversary. And yes why not green, blue or burgundy dial…😱
Great video, Austin 👏
With the release of the Deepsea Challenge in Titanium they will surely release the already seen prototype Yacht Master 40/42 in Titanium; possibly a Submariner too. That would be a fantastic move by Rolex to bring back the September 2020 Oyster Perpetual 31mm/ 36mm/ 41mm Stella dial homages to Day Date 40 and 36 and Datejust. Must be a precious metal Anniversary watch: 70th Submariner: 60th Daytona and 90th Oyster Perpetual. Yellow Gold is coming back on vogue and so the yellow Gold Submariner is a good one as is the comeback of the 116718 now 126718LN 2005 50th Anniversary GMT-Master II which brought in: Easylink; Cerachrom ceramic bezel insert; Parachrom Blue balance wheel and Paraflex shock absorber at Baselworld 2005. Maybe bring it back with a green and black or red and black ‘Coke’ bezel with green or black dial.
Could even be a rose gold or a two tone Hulk? Maybe a white gold Hulk on jubilee (She-Hulk)?
If the golden Hulk does get produced, what will happen to the price of the steel Hulk on the grey market? It took a correction after Covid but could swing back up again. I can only see more collectors will desire it in years to come & when it becomes proper vintage.
70th anniversary is a Platinum celebration. Why hasn't anyone picked that up? The new Sub will be offered in Platinum, maybe with the Hulk colorway. Or a gilt dial like the BB58 to pay homage to the early reference Subs.
Looks like there is also a Meteroite Daytona coming and a Sprite GMT with right hand traditional crown placement. Yawn.
The stella dial OPs went nuts and many are matching or beating desirable Datejust prices in the after market. Moving some of those dials into pricier models would be a great move.
There is already a green stella dial day-date in yellow gold.
You're right - I wonder if that had anything to do with their decision to keep the green dial available on the OPs (like them keeping the turquoise blue dial available on the 36mm OP).
Sub won't be in gold. 70th anniversary is a platinum celebration year. Would love to see it also on an Oysterflex. Can you imagine a platinum Sub with gilt dial with a green seconds hand on Oysterflex. Killer!!
The Green Goblin who was Spideman’s nemesis in the DC comics I used to read.
Seriously you call these speculated releases interesting? Same old churning.
The 18k yellow gold Sub with the green dial and bezel is long overdue, if such comes to fruition I'll be calling mine Yoda.
Thanks. Yesterday I went to my AD and put my name on the list for the golden Hulk. I was the third one asking for it. Will take about 6-8 month of waiting.
the green op36 and 41 still exist. im trying to get the 36
1:22 “I think [the Hulk] was just a little bit too cool for us.” That hurts! But you’re right! Great video, Austin!!
I’m calling today about the green 18k Sub, winner all the way around.
If there was a solid gold hulk next to a stainless steel hulk at the msrp for the gold and aftermarket for the steel, I would still pick the steel one. The gold one will be insanely expensive on the secondary market though I'm sure.
If 70th anniversary Sprite Lemon Sub becomes reality, then expect steel Hulk to explode in price. The Hulk prices have cooled down & dropped back down to pre pandemic prices due to the current economic climate but will spark renewed interest when collectors realise what a bargain they are right now, especially that they won't be able to buy the Sprite Lemon at retail. It's a design icon anyway. One which will be a mainstay in the future Rolex vintage catalog. Stock up now to avoid disappointment. And remember 'I told you so!'
The leprechaun is definitely the way to go!
Does anyone know anymore information on the gold rolex hulk , will it be made?
Nobody outside of Rolex knows that. And anybody that says they do is lying (or has some serious insider knowledge).
Your reviews get better and better
GULK! Ha! That may stick!🙂
SHE HULK !
The Green Day date the great “ Golden Hulk “ those are the watches to pick up if you can they will be very collectible imo. I mean they have to do the hulk in precious metal at some point.
King hulk. Hulk wearing a yellow gold crown
Sprite Lemon
I don't see rolex putting anything on a submariner dial other than the novel that is on it currently. No 369 ever.
Would they stop the yellow Gold submariner in black in that case? Or are they more likely to propose two yellow gold subs?
The Royal Hulk
the leprechaun
I'd love to see this "Golden Hulk" be released for the Submariner's 70th anniversary. IMHO, it is far more attractive than the original Hulk.
The Grinch
Greensey
The Golden Hulk would be most suitable nickname. I absolutely agree with you that Rolex wish they did not make the Hulk before the Starbucks followed by the Golden Hulk before the steel Hulk in that order. Also agree that the steel Hulk price will jump aggressively if the Golden Hulk is produced.
Absolutely
It’s called EXPENSIVE!!! It reminds me of what was in the briefcase in Pulp Fiction. I’m going to call it The Wallace!!!
we already got the YG DD with the op green dial
What a bummer that all the stella dial Op's have been discontinued. I was thinking to buy the green dial 41mm at a grey dealer. He had it advertised for AUD$13k last week. Then after the discontinuation price shot up to A$19k. Maybe still a good price right now. Could go up further?
The green OP41 is not discontinued.
And is only 39.5mm..
@@penne9346 Ok. I get it. It's only speculation. Dealers are already jacking up the price based on rumours.
I hereby name it "Gold Lantern"
THe Golden Hulk is a perfect Name for this watch . It would be a huge hit in Asia . Think Golden Budda . Golden Dragon . Golden Gong etc
It would be even more popular if the dial was cut from green jade stone. Jadeite dial would be a huge hit in the asian market.
@@oysterman962 I agree with you 100% . There is a vid potenial just on that fact alone
The “Sulk”.
Green & gold Sub is the same colors of Marvel character LOKI.
The God of mischief & Thor's adopted brother.
Gold Hulk looks a bit over the top. Does not look classy at all .. .
The Celtic Submariner.
Full gold anything is out of my budget so hopefully it’s something else
Barf Bag green..
The Golden Retriever
🙋 Loved Gulk!!
I’m thinking that gold warrants the “Worldbreaker Hulk” nickname.
It will just be a gold sweeping seconds hand like what MoonSwatch did.
Let's call the green and gold sub the Saint Patrick. He is kinda green and gold.
Not cool at all If this would be next release.
Just recycling same think over and over again.
Austin, do you think the steel hulk will come back a few years after the gold hulk?
Not a chance unless they rerelease it on jubilee like the Batgirl.
Steel Hulk is in Bruce Banner mode right now due to low economic sentiment. Buy now before it actually does transform back into the Hulk. Prices can only go North from here.
It'll probably come back eventually, but I think it'll be ages before we see it (something like the 100th anniversary - and that's 2054!).
It’ll come back the same time they bring back the all black GMT……..aka I wouldn’t hold my breath.
I think the Golden Hulk will happen - the Hulk is sooo unique and it belongs on precious metals
Lets call it the Honey Hulk
They lookt at the tudor gold watch
There won’t be any new submariners
70th anniversary of the Sub. Would be silly not to but they could underwhelm collectors like what they did with the Explorer II's 50th birthday. Just change the case size and upgrade the internals. Or take a leaf out of the MoonSwatch playbook and just add a gold sweeping seconds hand to the existing Sprite
Why Not a golden OP?
Call the other one the Gulk .. or even better the Landrover :D
3 6 9 is all happening
I have to be totally honest wiph you.
I stand a better chance of walking on the moon than getting my hands on a Gold-Hulk
