- I give you more details than you ever thought imaginable about a song I miss playing very much. Here's the story behind the song: How to Break Up in the City from the Almost Half Serious album which came out in 2011.
I know what I said is hurting just a little bit
Gotta smile on your face cause you're used to it
Out with the girls for a night on the town
Order another round and drink the night down
Cross the city I'm trying to remember exactly what I said
So that I can make it better
You're the prettiest girl I know
It's been so long since I told you so, so
[Hook]
And You, make me not wanna stop love
...and you, make me not wanna stop love
So I set out on a mission to find you
Posing like the loser who's dancing behind you
You really did it this time
Fogging up your glasses when your hips grind
You can't be mad at me forever
Of course I knew she would be If I would let her
You look delicious and I wanna take a bite
I refuse to end tonight in a really stupid fight
[Hook]
[Bridge x2]
This is it (this is it)
The last time ( last time)
The end of (end of)
This Slow ride
The party's over (party's over)
This is last call (last call)
Come and get your shit before I burn it all Приколы
“Hhhhhhhhhhumble brag” 😂😂
i can’t describe exactly what this makes me feel. but it’s exactly what i want from an artist. no pretending, not posing. just honest and good. thank you for sharing. your corner of the internet is one of my favorites. i love the song.
Thank you so much
also i’m the guy who got ask for a pic so i could gank your haircut and ive gotten so many compliments on it. so actually no, thank YOU
One of the things that's cool about this whole internet / youtube deal is that you don't have to just be one thing. You don't have to just be funny Mike, or advice column Mike, or takin' pictures Mike, or singer/songwriter Mike. You can do all of that stuff. There's no execs in a board room sending you notes about the Mike you need to be. And I like seeing all of that stuff because each of those sides gives dimension to each other side. It's almost like you're a whole person or something. You almost never get that on the TV.
So whatever you got that you want to put out there, send it.
Dude when I was at the end of my music career there were producers legit saying like “you have to pick one or the other or you’ll never be anything”
honestly goals
I'd not heard the song before, but I loved this video because it felt like a mini-doc by Mike about his creative process, which I will always find very interesting. Also Mike's hair made this feel like a time capsule.
As someone who still listens to Almost Half Serious, I appreciated this video.
Thank you! That was a fun time
This song has such a great progression and so many details to appreciate. Easily one of my favorites of yours.
I miss when you used to put out songs. I wish you did a comedy/crowd working and sing gigs
I love this, and I love you Mike.
Duuuuude. I love this. Getting the insight and perspective on the background is really cool.
Love this
Thank you sketch!
I still go back and listen to your old songs, and this one has always been one of my favorites. The writing had a different feel, and it's cool to learn that it was probably because it was the first fictional one. Loved watching this, now I'm gonna go listen to all my old faves
Darn I think my favorite song got taken down... I don't recall the name(super bad about that with everything) but it was just mike sitting on a rock playing the acoustic guitar 😢
Thank you for liking this stuff
@@mikefalzone thank you for making it!
I love your song called “It took me a long time to figure out how to be with a hot person.” Haha but real talk It’s fun to hear about all this from a perspective that I’ve legit never heard this song before (sorry lol). But it made listening to it a super fun time after hearing your now perspective of bein 23 & tryna figure out life. ‘Preciate you.
I remember this song. Miss your music and love hearing the story behind it. Do you ever get the urge to write a song these days?
Love the song. I really like hearing what’s behind it because it helps me love it better. For sure interested in more of this. Didn’t know the term for it, but I love a building chorus. I love songs that tell a story like that.
Thanks, Mike. That was so cool. Have always loved your music.
Thank you very much
big fan of his music and always have. i always hold on hope for a new song of his. This is awesome to hear him speak on it
Thank you so much
Hi Mike! This is cool :)
Thank you
Appreciate the thought you put into art, dude. It's obvious that story is a hugely important element in your creative process.
This is a great song, and as someone who's familiar with your comedy but not your music, I really enjoyed hearing the backstory and all the details beforehand! Also helps that I don't have the best ear for music, so hearing details of the process is helpful for fully appreciating the song. Love it, thanks Mike!
I was writing a song when you posted this, and I'd been staring at the same verse for like 30 minutes, watched this, and then went and finished the verse. So I'm gonna need permission to use your lyrics that I stole for my song.
jk, it did help me finish something I was stuck on, though. So this random thing you decided to do about a thing you did impacted someone and that's always rad.
I secretly hope you get the music itch again once you've reached whatever you consider the apex of your comedy career to be.
Who is this young man? (When did you film this and only now releasing it?)
Now explain "This is gonna be awesome"
Self explanatory
A comment for the algorithm gods
please tell us everything about Ballad of a Townie
Really? I’d do that if people were into it
@@mikefalzone I know the song means a lot to me so I would absolutely love to hear about what it means to you. I think the lyrics are special, and that everybody has felt similarly at some point of their lives (especially when you're young and rebellious and think it's all about you and your partner). It's also my favorite vocal performance of yours. You go crazy on the chorus especially when you sing "town" after the bridge. I only wish it came out during this era of signed merch because it would go up on my walls in an instant
You still have your pedalboard n stuff? Some fun loopy noodling could be fun for you, especially with your DB Loop Daddy setup. Don’t even need to record it man!
I have everything and it’s just untouched in a closet. I should mess around.
Mike how is your hair so long again
