Fast travel is always nice to have as an option
Yes I do like the option. Most of the time if I am playing RDR2 or Ghost of Tsushima I usually don’t use it unless I just want to get somewhere quickly. I usually use it in Zelda so I don’t get distracted though the only time I don’t is when I don’t have the option to.
i mean if you are in love with the travelling experience. In my opinion RDR2 (due to the visual experience) and Spiderman Games (swinging is just way more fun) are only ones i will not use fast travel. Even if i am going to side mission location (I fast travek a lot when playing witcher 3 as i try to complete every single question point)
@@inarkhamasylum3744 I mean, Rdr2 fast travel is still quite a fun realistic experience to try atleast once
Only if it's diagetic. In other words, if it makes sense inside the world of the game.
A good example are the taxis from GTA V. A bad example is teleportation from Skyrim.

Elden Ring's absence puts a void in my tarnished soul
You kinda have to fast travel cause of the round table and out of curiosity how long did a playthrough without fast travel take? because I feel like it would be ages doing any quests
Nice pfp but I definitely disagree with ER. There's definitely places where it's great to just ride on horse and especially if you're not going to 100% but there's enough branching paths like Mohgwyn Palace, places you'd want to frequently return to like Gurranq and one-way dead ends like where you find the Cinquedea or Rain of Arrows Ashes. Also, yeah the Roundtable Hold...
elden ring is one of my favorite games ever, maybe even my #1 after SOTE, but honestly it’d be a bit unbearable if you couldn’t fast travel. Torrent has reasonable speed but isn’t very fast relative to the world size. Imagine Fia’s quest, what’re you gonna do? Go all the way back through Siofra or the frenzy flame platforming? Fuck that
yeah because not fast traveling in it is ridicilous
Ok, do Ranni's quest without fast travel then
One of the best games without fast-travelling is Kingdom Come: Deliverance. It really brings out the vibe of travelling, meeting new people. Being randomly ambushed at night by Cumans and running away while they shoot arrows on you.
And even if you fast travel, it’s challenging enough since it can be interrupted.
The witcher 3 and rdr2 are the 2 greatest open world ever created
But red dead is the best game oat
I think Elden Ring got a good Open World too
Skyrim is definitely top 5 though
@@Yedfet0309 real
@@guilhem6351Let's debate with facts and not nostalgia based, how does rdr1 was the best game of all time or even better then rdr2?
That is the whole beauty of rdr2, its the encounters you come across as you're heading to your destination by horse.
It's the same with ghost of tsushima. And the way they guide you to your waypoint in it is so great for immersion. Just mark it on your map and the wind changes direction to where you placed it. No waypoints, compasses, or mini maps to look at. Just gathering the information from the world and nature around you. It's easily the best mechanic in the game imo. So simple and yet so elegant
I didn't use Fast Travel in rdr2 cause i didn't want to wait for the house cutscene

Might sound weird but ever since I discovered Skyrim a few years ago, Ive felt like a better, more cheerful person every time Ive replayed it. The music, the beauty and the unpredictability of wandering Skyrim is something truly special to me.
It's definitely one of the best games of all time my 2nd or 3rd favourite game. I played it since release. Still play it from time to time but at some point you do everything there is to do multiple times, get all achievements and then you install mods lol
@@KiraMahManOblivion was actually my first open world game ever besides older gta games and honestly looking back as far as the story, guides & side quest I think Oblivion was best! Wish they’d remake it officially!

The thing about cyberpunk that made me want to drive around was the well placed in-betweens the devs placed early on, you never felt the need to travel because the game makes it so that exploring every part is worth it. Not to mention, cyberpunk hardly had any loading screens or any repetition in the city, the city was really alive. What I would give to play it for the first time again.
One of the few games I've been able to sit through until the end, and even doing a second playthrough of, wish I could've enjoyed with friends but oh well
At launch, it was a mess, but now, it's one of the best games ever made.
Yeah, the game absolutely looks good, and exploring the streets is exciting, but car mechanics are very bad/hard and boring. I'm always using fast travel or using a motorcycle to travel
Fun fact: Cyberpunk has no loading screens throughout the whole story unless you fast travel somewhere. There are a couple of scenery changes here and there that have to load in but it's a very short wait and I wouldn't really consider those "loading screens"
@@AtillaYldz0I think they did a really good job at fixing the car mechanics with the updates. Yes they are still not the best with certain cars, but it's much better than most games, and definitely A LOT better than how it was at launch
Honestly, i never figured out how to fast travel in RDR2 (with a map) if i had to go really long distances, i either went on a train or rode there
Literally any open world requires fast travel, because sure they’re nice the first time, but walking back and forth across a huge map gets exhausting
yes but I am of the opinion that abusing fast travel ruins the game, an example would be Zelda: Breath of the wild. In the first 40 hours of the game I focused only on the main mission and some side quests, abusing the fast traveler: I had never visited many parts of the map and I had never stopped to admire the setting. And in these first 40 hours of play I didn't fully enjoy the game. Once I defeated the boss I decided to complete several secondary missions and I forced myself never to abuse the fast traveler again... Well in these last hours of the game I had much more fun and I realized the masterpiece that is Zelda : Breath of the wild.
Botw/ Totk I found is also much more fun without fast traveling, especially when going to a specific region or village for resources, or when u gotta look for somethin for a quest. Makes it feel more like an adventure
I agree! It is the best way to enjoy these games
I mainly use fast travel when it involves quests or when I need grab something or just hunting down the dragobs
The other games are so basic

Riding on your horse in rdr2 is so relaxing sometimes
RDR2's fast travel kinda sucks since it takes so long, and you'll also miss out on most of the side quests if you fast travel anywhere.
JC3 just has such stupidly fun traversal that it's a crime to skip out on moving around normally.
Really loving the maps of Ghost of Tshushima and RDR2❤🔥🔥
Same ^^
Tsushima is average for me, it follows the same ubisoft open world formula which tbh is outdated and retarded, it borrows some mechanics from nioh and sekiro but it's nothing in comparison to any of them
I literally got bored in just few first hours, because I already knew what I was going to do and what this game has to offer, there is no sense of mystery and no inspiration to explore the world which quickly killed the vibe for me despite of showcasing some great animations and visuals.
Elden ring was a different story however, it was a non conventional open world which really intrigues players to explore it's world without having the need for fast travel

It’s so atmospheric to drive around, especially since there’s so many car/motorcycle options available. The songs on the radio are also absolutely amazing and are a joy to listen to. arkham knight fs. pretty sure it doesn’t have a fast travel mechanic, but the game makes traveling even long distances enjoyable
Batman Arkham Origins had a fast travel feature but it was better to not use it
@@JACKRIDERPLAYZplaying through the games for the first time rn, great series. the vibe is too cool to skip through like that
@@JACKRIDERPLAYZhonestly the most useless thing in the Arkham series was the fast travel in origins the only thing it's good for is not having to cross the bridge every time, but the time it takes to unlock the towers makes it just not worth it really
@@joelcomeryeah honestly the Arkham games are already quite short and the maps aren't too big fast travel would just be a waste not to mention you don't get to hear the funny goon dialogue
