Real cameos are made from a shell. They carve away one layer to expose the second layer. If its set in silver, its made by an apprentice, if its set in gold its usually a master carver. I visited Italy a long time ago when I was stationed in Germany. A beautiful country, and I think you have a great find there.
That Cameo bracelet is incredible find! Did you know that it can be even MORE valuable if it is a "Left Facing" Cameo? {{ "The most common way to face is right. The second most popular is left, then forward. These rare facing cameos can be worth a lot of money." }}
Hello you two, I hope that all is well with you both. Your Dad's idea about carrying a magnet with him and your's about the loop are VERY good ideas. Why don't you make some Bearded Thrift Machine branded merch that's a little pack to carry in your pocket or purse. It can have the magnet, loop, every type of battery, charger, etc...in it. I dunno, just throwing it out there. Good luck, I love your channel... you are an adorable couple! 🙏
Great fun! Love Cameo's!!! The bracelet is beautiful. Cameos are usually carved of shell, and in those colors Conch Shell. They would be cool to the touch where as a plastic would be warm. Held up to the light you would see thru shell, but plastic would be solid. Cameos are also carved of stone. It's always to have a magnet and loop in your pocket. Even if something isn't gold, in jewelry there are very collectible and valuable makers of costume pieces like Weiss, Eisenburg & Hobe. Many also have marks you can learn to identify. Your Mustang clock is wonderful and it's a keeper! You're just growing leaps and bounds-so proud of you! Cat
Hey Beardy and Mrs. Beardy, We love the content! I have to let you know though, real bronze, due to the tin content, will be slightly ferrous. If you have a rare earth magnet (neodymium) it will stick SLIGHTLY to bronze. If it sticks more than just a bit, it is probably plated steel. If it doesn't at all it's usually brass. There are a lot of people that miss the attraction of the magnet and so think it doesn't attract at all. Keep the great content coming and God Bless
Cameo is carved conch shell! It’s very good! Sometimes glass can be good if you find antique ones but you really want the carved shell. No resin! Y’all did good! ❤😊
Great video! A few things concern me about the cameo bracelet. #1 the clasp looks wrong, could just be a replacement one. #2 the Milor & 14kt mark look sloppy. #3 The cameos look like real shell, but I dont high gloss, they look a bit like resin. You could test this with a hot pin. #4 The gold color of the bracelet varies from the gold color on the tag that says Milor & 14kt. The tag may be 14kt, but the rest of the bracelet may not be. I wish you the best and hope it all checks out for you! Congrats on the score!
Congratulations on the amazing jewelry finds! If you don’t have your loop, just zoom your camera on your phone and take a picture of it then zoom in on the photo if you need.
Could be shell or agate. The nose will help date it. If it is pert and turned upward, early part of the1900s. The better the carving, the higher the value. Which I have owned pieces similar. There are different shells that you can identify that were used in making cameos. Different types of cameos as well from lava rock to glass..
And here is Kayla looking at wall art. One if the framed ones has an opening below the main piece and that can be a sign of something unusual. Check it out.
@@beardedthriftmachine and just FYI. At the first sale, with the artwork. Always look at golf course art. Looked like Augusta National painting in the pile.
Awesome find! Did you also get the cameo earrings and what appears to be a larger framed cameo @ 7:04 ? I'm not sure if they're as potentially valuable, but still pretty cool.
Love how you race Dad 😅 great finds guys! Btw seen on worthpoint that same exact bracelet sold 3 times! You should do very well!! Congratulations guys!😊
LOL…Why are you not using the magnifying glass in your pocket? Does your phone camera not have a zoom feature? I use my camera constantly at the thrift store to look at marks. It’s not 100% perfect but it works more times than not. You can also snap a zoomed photo and then pinch enlarge it even more if it is still hard to read. Sometimes this will not work due to angle, rubbed/faded mark or something and I have to decide if I want to gamble on the item and then have a look when I get home using the magnifying glass. Just a helpful hint most people don’t even think about.
I would love to see your Mustang. I've always wanted a '67 mustang but, when Ford came out with the fastback, I had to have it. I purchased the 2006 V6 pony in screaming yellow. It has over 200 thousand miles on it. I still love it and still get compliments on it. I do want to refurbish it as it's showing it's age. I'll never get rid of it.
I have scored over 110 little Christmas houses. Many are german and all are perfect, high quality type , nty the cheapo newer ones. Most have windows with viewable interiors. i didnt pay more then $3 for any single one. Collection is estimated between $6k and 7k$$$. All for about 250 bucks and two years of thrifting. I also scored some BRAND NEW semi truck jumper cables 40ft long Pro quality clamps and 2 gauge copper wire. $10 each , i bought both sets. That was a hell yeah yee ha moment for me!
I went to your ebay store and found some stuff I like but it's hard to pay ya 5 times what you paid for it. Lol I also know yall work hard for that $. You just show us the fun stuff. Enjoy your show and I'll be buying more stuff from your site.
Was the cameo bracelet signed Millar or Millor? I found some silver earings that are signed Millor, Italy. Haven't looked them up yet. Can't wait for the update.
"I'm never going to end up fixing this thing, it's going to sit in the garage for 10 years and then I'm going to sell it at a garage sale for a $1" I have so many thing that I said I will fix up and I never do...I know they will end up in a garage sale for a $1! Funny, stuff!
You need to get one of those machines that they have now that you don’t need to do the acid testing of the gold , you just have to calibrate it and then you put the piece that you’re trying to figure out if it’s real gold or not on a plate on the machine and then you use the wand to touch it to the gold and there are readings above that are from 10k - either 18k or 24k and the needle goes to one of those readings and then if it comes out real gold you don’t have to use that acid to test it .
I know you don't like to pull out your phone at yardsales. But I will use my phone to zoom in on fine print. Also get you a Olight flashlight. EDC one they have a good magnet on them. I'd be happy to share a link for olight if you're interested.

The cameos are normally carved shell. I hope the bracelet is worth a ton! AND the Mustang clock is VERY cool! Great haul! 🙏🏻❤️
Not glass, Julian, it's carved shell! And beautiful- nice find, one day Kayla is going to have to walk home with all of your finds...
I was just going to jump on and say that. Those cameos are gorgeous
Me, too. Carved shell/gorgeous. Make sure you get a strong magnet for jewelry.@@classyvintagetravels6744

Keep us posted on the cameo bracelet! Exciting find!
we will be taking it into the jeweler in about a week or so when we take the gold in - im thinking its worth a good bit
I don't think it will have much value .
A thousand-dollar bracelet and a free cooler, what a great haul!

OMG that mustang clock is awesome! Great finds all day🎉
So the Mustang pulls out of the shop, revs its engine a few times, then backs into the shop? Sounds like a realistic scenario for a Ford! :P
🤣🤣🤣... definitely sounds like mine 😕 😞
My best find today was 40 large 10.5 x 16 Bubble Mailers for $5! Can never have too many for shipping clothes and magazines in.
You need carry a jewellers loop around with you will make it a whole lot easier to identify the the markings on each piece
14 k gold. .? Bellissimo . You’re going to make a HUGE PROFIT!😊

I love cameos. What a great find! Let us know what you find out about it.
You might consider putting several golf divot tools with ball markers clipped to your ball caps. The ball markers are also magnets. Thom. "C"
Thank you for the entertainment 😊
Wow so pretty good luck on that bracelet
I use the magnifier app on my phone to see small print. Works like a charm.
Actually cast iron art can do very very well specially if it´s very old. They pick a lot of that on American Pickers show.
What a cute bird cage
Catch you on the next one. Goodnight God bless from a very windy and wet 🏴 Wales. ,from me and Molly moo 😊xxxxx
thank you so much!!!! Goodnight (we were on whatnot so im now just getting to the comments)
A magnet and a USB battery are essentials you'll always forget. I try and find a can opener and borrow the magnet from that.
Oooooh, Bogie and Bacal!
The cage with the owl, the cage would be nice with a plant inside it. Or artificial flowers.
Yayyyyyyy! Everyone shopping today! ( :
I'd keep the cage and toss the owl. The cameo is beautiful. I'd sell it for more.

Love the clock !!!! You guys picked up some good stuff !!!!
the clock for the win for sure!
Wow you got some great things!!
I think those dolphins were what I call pot metal.Large as they were I woulda grabbed them for 10 bucks. They make good booth fodder for the shop.
Be careful with gold from Italy. I found a necklace at the beach marked same as yours that turned out to be plated. You need a good gold tester.
100% - thats why this one will be heading to the jeweler just to make sure its gold
