If I was directing a live action Anastasia film I would add this on the nightmare scene where she's running after her brother and the song just plays when everyone's just dancing and then Rasputin tells her to this is your nightmare

@@luisjaime2567 of course, it can't be a new different movie about Anastasia's story, it has to be a remake of the old animated one because animation is worthless, just a product waiting to be made into a "real" movie decades after.
@@ginogatash4030 If you want to keep Anastasia a film that contains magic and curses and stuff like that keep Rasputin, but the B-Way musical stans wanna see Gleb as the main villain to add some realism to it. In The Dark Of The Night was all we got to see of Rasputin's personality, and you could expand on that in a live-action film, but Rasputin was also a real person. He died long before the Romanovs were murdered. Also, Gleb's songs in the musical bang, so why not put those in there as well?
@@KeepCalmContemplateYourChoicesnot sure what you're talking about here, I wasn't arguing that the film should never be remade, or that it shouldn't be live-action, I was just expressing frustration at the "animation is inherently inferior to live-action, therefore a live-action remake must be made" mindset a lot of "Disney/not fans" seem to have, it's a fundamentally flawed argument that devalues the films these people claim to love, and animation as an art form, and they only like these live-action remakes trend cause they liked the originals and can project the old story and characters onto the bland lukewarm adaptations.
This is a masterpiece! The original shred me to tears, and this one is reminding me of the power of history, and the sadness of Anastasia's true fate.
When I saw Anastasia on Broadway, during this song, I cried like a baby.

I always wondered why they used the term 'Dancing bears' instead of 'Dancing pairs' which makes more sense because Anastasia was singing this song in a ballroom.

the whole time this song played, I just imagined the bolsheviks invading the palace, the Romanovs living in peril in a compound, the bittersweet memories of royal splendor the family had access to, the hardships of WWI the Romanovs took part in and the final moments of the family being led into the basement of the compound.

Oh, no I totally agree. They didnt reform in thier rapidly changing society and definately put thier trust in the wrong people which led to loads of unrest and suffering for the Russians, but it was the corrupt nature of the Bolsievik and Soviet regime that cut short the lives of the Romanovs instead of allowing them to live peacefully in exile.
@Elizabeth they may have been a bad rulers but what came as their replacement and how it did wasnt much better..
The Bolsheviks killed this family because of a revolution they made up

close, it wasn't actually the bolsheviks, their revolution came a few months later and was much more organized. the initial revolution that took the tsar's power was a mash of people desperate to see someone else rule
As someone who grew up with this is movie playing a big part of my childhood, I can say 100% that this version moved me just as much as the original.

@@luisjaime2567 I think it would depend on if they decided to follow the movie or go more by the real life story. Similar to Disney's Live action remake of Mulan. I think I would need to see the movie to make any decisions.

A musical is the closest we'll get for a live-action but lucky for us there is one! They changed a bit of the story to make it more historically accurate and removed/added characters, but they kept the songs (and added more which, I have to say, are amazing!!). There's a bootleg up on youtube if you wanna check it out ^^

The music is beyond magical and wonderful, Alan Menken level. The original plot may be historically inacurate but the characters are way more developed than old and original Disney films
Since Disney owns 21st Century Fox, they totally have the chance to do a live action Anastasia!

They really should make a live action version of Anastasia
Well Disney has the rights to the movie so maybe we'll probably get one soon or maybe in the near future
Just take the broadway version and make it a live action, it is actually much more historically accurate, and the new songs are lovely

I've always loved the mysterious quality in this song which was appropriate to the story since Anastasia doesn't totally recall where her memories are from. Love how you played it.

Anastasia has always been my favorite Disney Princess, and this music gives me tears of joy.🥺😭🤩😍
Can you imagine this as the beginning of the Anastasia movie! With them trying to escape from the take over of the palace! Ah! My heart sings to think they might do a live action of this! What a grand possibility!

OMG, I'm literally going crazy right now. THANK YOU for bringing this most cherished memory of my childhood movies to light! I played this movie SO MANY TIMES. I'm sure I drove my parents crazy with how many times I rewound the vhs so I could hear this song, over and over, and over again. My heart is bursting over this; it's an absolutely spectacular version of the song. I want this to be in a show, and I want to go see it live. I just can not get enough. Now, 20-some-odd years later, I get to relive the experience of driving loved ones crazy as I blast this song across the house, over and over again.
This music is so addicting,
I feel the harmonies swirling all around me.
With each breath a tear slips away, sliding benevolently down my cheeks. In that moment I wish to hold the song between my grasp.
