I thought that Alan Menken's soundtrack can't be more epic. I loved B&B since I was a child, I knew all the songs, even performed as the Beast in local theater. But tonight I discovered that something epic can be "epicious".

Interesting detail - in the animated movie, when the producers wanted Angela Lansbury to sing (as Mrs. Potts) the titular song, she was initially reluctant to do so, afraid her aging voice wouldn't be able to handle the task. They talked her into trying anyway.
She nailed the song in one take.
For any of those who are Tolkien fans around here, idk why but for some reason this theme makes me think of Beren & Lúthien’s love (Ik that Beren was mortal not a beast but the whole idea of a very fair maiden falling in love with the most unexpected person is completely visible in this music) plus the glittering falling stars do remind me of Lúthien. And the part where the beast is changed into a human is like when Beren was reborn after his death.
Why couldn't THIS have been used in the live action remake trailer??!! it's SO GOOOOD!!

I started to cry already at 1:20... ITS AWESOME! Actually its more like an epic version of battle + ballroom + finale...
The only thing I would add, or that you can record as separate piece, is that melody from 2017 when Belle & Beast travel to Paris windmill via Enchanted Book... Its actually taken from 1991 Battle scene when Beast lets Gaston to go, but then sees Belle & climbs up to hold her hand... Its more like an intro of 'who'd ever thought that this could be'... Notes are epic but they last really short sadly ;(
I found this theme very beautiful.
My favorite Disney animated movie! To me, this did a lot of what Frozen did 22 years before that was even a thing. It upended a lot of Disney tropes, gave us an intriguing Prince AND Princess combo to go with the usual smart ensemble and catchy songs, and made an otherwise boring tale more interesting (adding the rose as a ticking clock, prince is cursed for his own arrogance not jealousy of others) As far as I'm concerned, Mulan, Moana, and Frozen wouldn't be what they are without this movie.
The fact that this version feels so much more epic than the original Live Action says a lot.

I've know Saint-Saens' Carnival of Animals since young childhood, and when I saw Beauty and the Beast, I was sure the opening music was inspired by the Aquarium movement. You guys clearly thought so too.
