@jonnstill a dickish move: he calls her a citizen, when a simple "sorry, matters of the council" would have been fine, the "Citizen" was unnecessary, even though she didn't even deny to rejoin the order, just not right now. Even Yoda called her a Padawan, cause she technically still was when she left: she got her rank back and everything. To deny Anakin the rank of a Master was pretty much the same: they mistrusted the chancellor and how he took over the command over the clone army, so they punished the one they could and denied Anakin this rank (nice little side note: Anakin would have been they youngest Master, ever joining the council, before him, Windu was).
@@MarelorMoon last in order to become a true Jedi Master you have to learn every force technique in general. And Skywalker didn't have that type of skills set yet. He relied more on lightsaber combat than the variety use of force.

They know dookus master has control of the senators (as mentioned in AOTC) 4.They know palpatine has clung to power 5. Krell said that the republic would be destroyed from the inside and MAYBE Rex mentioned that in his report? They still don’t think it’s palpatine
Kung Olaf yes but there were many greedy politicians, and the Jedi didn’t sense the dark side around them as they did with palpatine in ROTS. Besides, the Jedi likely knew from the report on krell that krell believed the republic would collapse from the inside. Given the knowledge that the Jedi had that darth sidious has control of hundreds of senators, and that the republic will collapse from the inside, and that the dark side of the force surrounds the chancellor, and that sidious has controlled both sides of the war from the beginning, and that dooku likely has a dark side master, wouldn’t a reasonable person say that it’s a good guess to say the Sith Lord is palpatine. I understand the Jedi would be in deep shit if they were wrong about palpatine, but maybe was it worth the risk? That’s not for me to decide. You could also argue that the Jedi were blinded by the dark side veil, making their ability to see the future blurred, and that the Sith shrine under the Jedi temple helped blind them as wells. I mean, that’s fine, and it probably played a role, but....c’mon. Yoda, windu, obi wan, plo koon; they weren’t dumb. They had way too much information to not realize palpatine was the Sith Lord until it was too late. I’m sort of arguing both sides now, but the Jedi also grew arrogant and assumed the Sith were extinguished. Yoda, windu, and Obi-Wan were probably the most arrogant of all of them. The Jedi’s arrogance also led to their downfall.
Palpatine had been disguising his power up till this point. Only at the final hour did the mask begin to slip. By then, there was nothing they could have done to stop him.
They even got to realize that Dooku was the one who recommended Jango Fett as source genetic material for the clone army, linking him to the mysterious commissioning of the army itself... They just were so deep into the war effort at this point that they didn't even bother to put things together.
Yoda: "More to say, have you?" Ahsoka: "No, thank you." Yoda: "...cranky, Master Windu has been. Argued with Skywalker twice, he has already." Ahsoka (relieved): "Oh. What did Anakin do now?" Yoda (pauses): "Confusing your former master, the chancellor has. To be a Master and to defeat Grievous, Skywalker wanted. Brought these ambitions to Skywalker, the chancellor has." Ahsoka: "It's not like he didn't already want that. It's just how I've known him." Yoda: "Careful we are of this, padawan. Selfishness can be a path to the dark side." Ahsoka (puts two and two together, with Maul's vision and Yoda's info): "Master, bring back Anakin! Don't get him anywhere near the chancellor!"
Some argue that Ahsoka is partially to blame for Anakin's fall, since she didn't try to convey the message, but at the same time, had Mace told her about their suspicions regarding Palpatine, she might have decided to trust the Council after all and tell them what Maul had said, leading them to reach the necessary conclusion. It's not even literal blame as it is (that honour goes to Palpatine himself), it just boils down to the lack of trust and everyone being suspicious of one another that led to the downfall of the Jedi and the Republic. Windu didn't trust Anakin nor Ahsoka, Ahsoka had her misgivings about the Order and she wanted to believe in Anakin just like he believed in her back in Season 5, so she couldn't trust Maul as far as she could throw him. Anakin felt abandoned by everyone he loved, and by the Order he served, and with the risk of losing Padme (who worked behind his back on the Delegation 2000) and Palpatine's schemes... it's a recipe for a perfect disaster.

This series always did a better job of bringing out the tragedy of Revenge of the Sith than that movie ever did on its own. First just by finally giving Anakin and Obi-Wan, and their friendship the screentime and humanity they all needed to work, then by showing just how many people *would have been there* for Anakin. How many people really did have his back and would have helped him if he had been able to open up to them about him and Padme. Jesus, even having Rex around in Episode 3 wouldn't have been nothing. But The Clone Wars then went the extra step to really bring together the sorry state that the Hubris of the Jedi Order left them in- that they couldn't help people, couldn't understand real humanity and normal lives, that they were *lost* in all of this. And that was their downfall.
The series obviously had more time to unfold and present the story. As Brian Cox put it, "Because in movies, it’s three acts: first, second and third. Whereas in longform (TV Series), it’s an endless second act, and you can do so much in the second act."
And it also bring out how very different all Jedi after the Order 66, struggle to survive without the order but archived more wisdom than the order (until Disney ruined it with Sequel Triology). Obi-Wan give up hope for Anakin after withness what he has become when the helmet be torn apart. Meanwhile Luke still find and believe his father can return and he did; Ashoka can archive the balance of the force even though she is not The Chosen One; Kanan can even stop entire fuel tank explosion long enough to his family to escaped; Ezra can call for space whales to yeet Admiral Thrawn out of the chest so the Rebel Alliance can win the war later; and we all know how good Kal is on Fallen Order. And then Disney ruined everything.

Times like this really emphasize how the Jedi order really HAS fallen from grace and lost sight of themselves. Their inability to adapt and practically blindly dogmatic clinging to their policies (or heirarchy in politics) left them ripe for the pickins of Sidious and Order 66. Mace Windu in particular embodies this better than any other. When Boba comes after him, he doesn't make any attempt to apologize or make peace he just says what amounts to "Oh well. Get used to it." I'm not saying the jedi deserved genocide because of what they were becoming and how they were choosing to act. I'm saying they weren't acting like true Jedi anymore. If anything, Quigon, Anakin, Ahsoka, and Obiwan were the last true Jedi by the time of the prequels.
He didn’t owe Boba an apology, tf? How does says by sorry to someone who caused the deaths of countless troopers and tried to kill him because years ago he killed his father, who was an agent of Dooku, had been shooting at him at the time, and had killed several Jedi that day already? “You’re going to have to” makes a lot more sense than “I’m sorry”
Arguably Plo, Aayla, Yoda, and a few unnamed/minor characters as well. But by and large, Jedi have lost their ability to connect with the general public, and many of those Jedi sat on the Council.
Damn, you mixed both pieces into the entire conversation from the movie! It's unbelievable this animated show is taking place during a live action movie, so it's hard to visualize Ahsoka in a non-animated form.
If you cut out the shot with animated yoda and cut between scenes the moment mace turns his head for the door, the transition is even stronger. Otherwise, yeah. That's exactly how it happens and it's awesome.
Indeed. Just about each of these SoM (Siege of Mandalore) scenes can easily blend and fit in with ROTS smoothly with the right editing. It's as if we're watching an extended edition of ROTS; looking at it and fleshing out the ROTS narrative in a fresh new way. ^_^

Fear, mistrust, bitterness, hate and anger all culminated in the destruction of the Jedi Order. Yoda made it very clear that he still loved Ahsoka and still regarded her as part of the order while Mace was bitter about the whole ordeal. These feelings are the true enemy of us all. yes that was because Ahsoka is a apart of Yoda's Jedi lineage her great great grandmaster was Dooku who was yoda's favourite padawan . so he does care about her .
I think it's kind of sweet how ahsoka seems slightly concerned about obi-wan fighting grievous but at the same time obviously thinks he is capable of defeating him when she says "the war could be over soon". that look yoda gives after he called ahsoka a 'citizen', "yodu: being a prick, you are". also what citizen, who didn't get the rank of jedi knight, can; 1. fight, defeat and catch a former sith lord. 2. restore peace to a the planet under said sith's control 3. make peace with said planets culture who have bad blood between themselves and jedi. and this same 'citizen' is the one the jedi council (not counting the ones who objected) chose to abandon to preserve their ties to the government instead of trying to help clear their name. THEN when she was proven innocent they tried to play it off as 'the will of the force' and promote her for it. seriously mace, you may be awesome but this is not one of you finest moments.

This is how blind the Jedi were:
1. They know the dark side surrounds the chancellor
2. They know dooku has to have a master
3. They know dookus master has control of the senators (as mentioned in AOTC)
4.They know palpatine has clung to power
5. Krell said that the republic would be destroyed from the inside and MAYBE Rex mentioned that in his report?
They still don’t think it’s palpatine
As far as they know Palpatine could just be a greedy, powerhungry politician that tried to benefit from the Separatist crisis and the Clone Wars.
For real, Palpatine was dropping hints like crazy
They even got to realize that Dooku was the one who recommended Jango Fett as source genetic material for the clone army, linking him to the mysterious commissioning of the army itself... They just were so deep into the war effort at this point that they didn't even bother to put things together.

The foreboding atmosphere in these last episodes is intense. We all know what happens next, even if the characters don't. Goosebumps the whole time.
Yoda was always that dude who knows how to give people a chance and has faith in everyone when his colleagues dont see what he sees in others
Except when she needed it most, and he turned on her with all the others...which is why she’s not a Jedi in this scene...
Brilliant editing. I hope We get a version of the original 4-hr. cut of ROTS combined with The Siege of Mandalore.
And tbh the kidnapping of the chancellor with shakk ti
I agree, up till now Clone Wars (as much as I love it) never felt fully connected to the movies, this scene weaves it into the main universe perfectly
FalconFlyer75 I mean, because it took place between and not during. This season was finally during. It was always intended. Disney tried to cancel it, is all. This was written and meant to come out 5 years ago.
@ And, the irony of ironies? The series that Disney couldn't care less for, ended up being, along with The Mandalorian, the biggest Star Wars-related hit on Disney +. And, in both cases, George Lucas, Dave Filoni, and Jon Favreau had involvement in them. Hence, Ahsoka, Rex, Bo-Katan, and Mon Mothma's appearances in The Mandalorian, and the upcoming, Filoni-verse.
I actually have it idk where to upload it though
"So the war could be over soon."
"That depends on the Chancellor."
"What do you mean?"

@@SchultzDorinda Windu is powerful, knowledgeable, and also big on following the rules. These are qualities that got him a seat on the Council, but he really doesn't have much going for him beyond that.
I love how Yoda still respects Ahsoka enough to call her "Padawan", despite her not being in the Order anymore. It's sort of like calling a veteran by their highest held rank after they've been discharged or retired.
When windu said "its a matter for the council to discuss" even yoda made a face at him like he talling him to shut up in his head

As was said many times before: Everything can change in an instant whether or not you're ready. All it takes to change the course of history is the Will of a single man.
The movie did well too.
Amen dude

It’s really haunting how each of the Jedi masters flicker out without a word. None of them realize this is the last time they’ll ever see each other
They had each done this hundreds of times. They had won the war, it couldn't happen to them, they thought.
2:20, Yoda's puppy dog eyes lol
2:14 even the music is like “say something, or you’ll regret it for the rest of your life”
That song was Anakin's Theme from The Phantom Menace, a very fitting piece for that scene.
Is it because of Anakin saving palpatine from Windu made him they key to everything or would fall of they Jedi be different once Anakin turned to they dark side
@MCSPARTAN501 Funny isn't it. They can "connect" with the force which links to all things and beings and yet...socially? They're terrible.
Anakin had that Revan dog in him. He would've fit right into the Old Republic.
@@Ismael-kc3ry He at the very least could have apologized to make Boba feel better, even if he didn't mean it.
*I'm crying, in a few hours Anakin will switch to the dark side and Order 66 will be given.*
Damn, you mixed both pieces into the entire conversation from the movie! It's unbelievable this animated show is taking place during a live action movie, so it's hard to visualize Ahsoka in a non-animated form.
It won't be so hard after we see her in The Mandalorian season 2.
Super Smash Revan still gonna be hard. She’s 40 there. She’s 17 here.
There was a pause after yoda said his line pretty sure but I'll see if I can edit it

The Animation is so beautiful here and the atmosphere of the scene as well. I also love how warm Yoda is to Ahsoka here!
Friends, you must confront them and overcome them or they will consume you.
yes that was because Ahsoka is a apart of Yoda's Jedi lineage her great great grandmaster was Dooku who was yoda's favourite padawan . so he does care about her .
The look on Yoda’s face after she says later, like he knew there was a possibility it might already be too late
I think it's kind of sweet how ahsoka seems slightly concerned about obi-wan fighting grievous but at the same time obviously thinks he is capable of defeating him when she says "the war could be over soon". Shows that although they disagreed on some things she still believes in his abilities and cares about him.
Shame that they likely didn't see each other again...
that look yoda gives after he called ahsoka a 'citizen', "yodu: being a prick, you are".
also what citizen, who didn't get the rank of jedi knight, can;
1. fight, defeat and catch a former sith lord.
2. restore peace to a the planet under said sith's control
3. make peace with said planets culture who have bad blood between themselves and jedi.
and this same 'citizen' is the one the jedi council (not counting the ones who objected) chose to abandon to preserve their ties to the government instead of trying to help clear their name. THEN when she was proven innocent they tried to play it off as 'the will of the force' and promote her for it.
seriously mace, you may be awesome but this is not one of you finest moments.
To be fair all Mace was saying is that they aren’t going to share highly sensitive information to someone who just reiterated that they weren’t a Jedi and identified themselves as a “citizen”. It’s just the way he says it is just his personality. Very condescending and kinda hilarious imo

Ahsoka only sees Yoda as a true Jedi. Yoda sees Ahsoka as Padawan regardless of titles, as well as tried to establish two way trust even while bound by the Council's decision. Yoda is the only Master who learned the lesson of the incident: Ahsoka is a good person and they should trust her.
He is the only one who realizes she doesn't return because she is disappointed in the Jedi and is the only one to overcome the Council's hubris of "others have to change to fit our wise outlook". He is really trying, but Ahsoka knows its still not enough to truly make the changes the Order needs. So much nuance built into this scene, its so cool.
Yoda was this close to being on Plo and Qui-Gon's level of humility and being a true Jedi.
The transition was seamless. Amazing stuff!
I can safely say that if they had made the last four episodes into a movie and released it in theaters I would have gone in a heartbeat.

Exactly. If he would've displayed some Jedi humility, he would've let her in on what's going on with the Chancellor and then I'm sure she would've divulged what Maul said about Anakin. Instead, they both withheld important information from each other because of his arrogance. Crazy.
I mean what he was saying wasn’t really bad. Mace and the council are discussing very important stuff and a self proclaimed citizen shouldn’t be hearing that stuff. However the way he said it was pretty rude and could have been said better.
I mean...she called herself a citizen first.
Mace Windu didn't reveal vital information, Ahsoka did the same thing because. Because Jedi Order didn't trust her and she didn't trust them. And the course of events unfold...In Revenge of the Sith.
Hardly. Confidential information should be kept a secret. Even Padawans and your average jedi shouldn't be allowed to know that, let alone a former jedi. Mace Windu was simply following protocol on those matters.
