They probably knew she wasn't lying. The council feared that the general public would lose trust in the Jedi Order. Maybe that fear made them believe she was guilty.
+Nick Arriaga You're absolutely right there. Sidious started the Clone Wars to blind the Jedi by flooding their Force senses with the upheaval of millions/billions of deaths at once. The rise of hatred and darkness in the galaxy kept them blind to his real plan for years, until it was far too late to stop him. Darth Plagueis concocted the plan. Sidious executed it brilliantly. In Attack of the Clones, Windu was wrong when he said that Jedi weren't soldiers. They HAD been, at one point, but it was the lack of a galactic war for over a millenia that ultimately weakened them. They had no tolerance, no resistance to the corrupting effects conflict would bring. Hence why Barriss fell to the Dark Side and the future became clouded for everyone in the Order. Conflict breeds strength, a lesson Jaster Mereel and Jango Fett's True Mandalorians learned well and Satine's New Mandalorians forgot, hence why the latter were wiped off the map with a single wave of Sith manipulation. There is a reason full-fledged Jedi are called Knights, and the Council forgot that.
@Kek 9 ahsoka was his first child and he didn't know what he was doing. He realized he fucked up by not fighting for her. He chose not to make that same mistake with Luke
Meaningless Opinion it’s a bit of both. Anakin is extremely protective of her and legit wanted to kill Ventress for “framing” her lol but on the other hand they do joke like brother and sister.
@@okita_souji_alterit actually kinda is confirmed. Because like 5min after this scene Anakin chases down Asajj Ventress with his hood up and fights with anger and hatred and force chokes her for like a solid 2 minutes while trying to get answers about who setup Ashoka. Force choking is a dark side use of the force and Jedi are not allowed to use it. Seeing Anakin use the dark side of the force so violently and strongly immediately after this scene where Ashoka is expelled from the Jedi order basically shows he could no longer trust the Jedi order fully and started to deeply resent them, which Palpatine was already convincing Anakin of before this happen. This was like the final nail in the coffin, without Ashoka by Anakin's side because of the Jedi betraying her, Anakin had little sympathy left for the Jedi order.
Even Obi-Wan knows this is wrong and he allowed this to happen, sitting up there silent as a statue. Qui-Gon must've been spinning in his grave seeing this.

+littlejune131 Mundi was probably against her. Shaak Ti might have chosen to support her, as did Kit Fisto (he wasn't seen here, but he was there when Tarkin asked that she be expelled from the order).

DarthSquidward yes, but from the scene where Tarkin asks the council to expel Ahsoka, there are only ten members: Oppo Rancisis and Depa Billaba weren't there, meanign we've got 5-5 unless someone chose to be neutral or was on the other side.
Barley any Jedi joined the Sith or fell to the dark side. Out of the like hundreds of thousands of Jedi that ever lived since the founding of the old republic only like 5 ever fell to the dark side. If we assume that about 400,000 total Jedi existed in the last 1000 generations and 5 of those fell to the darks side, that's a failure rate of 0.000125%.
If those 400,000 Jedi knew the Sith doctrine they would have joined the dark side. Look at Kotor and how many Sith joined Revan when he revealed the Sith way to them. This Jedi Order was VERY afraid of any Sith teaching in fear of their students choosing that over the washy garbage they teached them.
@@anibala.moralessanchez8018 Its easy to join the dark side than remain to the light, which is why those who fell were weak minded with little control, were selfish, wanted more, emotional, manipulated or couldn't keep themselves 'restrained'. The Sith doctrine is 'inviting' because it has no 'bounds', the Jedi doctrine is difficult because it imposes 'limits'.
The Grand Inquisitor was confirmed by Dave Filoni as to being in this scene and the scene where Barriss confesses. I believe TGI is the guard who rips the braid off of Ahsoka
Firelight157 Why did he have to join Vader? The Jedi lost their way but the Sith are no better. It’s the same problem I had with Kylo Ren. Why did you have to have the bad guy be another fallen Skywalker.
@Firelight157 actually incorrect. Since TGI was present here AND helped Anakin escort Barris to the official Republic trial, he realized that in the end Ahsoka was telling the truth and the Council had already made up their mind before this trial even started, and they didn't even give her a chance to explain, they only threw around accusations instead of trying to get to the bottom of this. What Barris said had nothing to do with his disillusionment of the Order itself.

She had every chance to turn to the dark side but never gave in. Makes her "I'm no Jedi" line that much more powerful. Because she was the best of them and the Jedi turned their back on her.
Well deserved deaths. A bunch of brainless idiots lmao. What they did to her was messed up and disrespectful, they care about the public eye more than their own.
God, this scene is so heartbreaking. Actually makes me feel a little less terrible about Anakin leading the attack against the temple in Episode three.
The Jedi, Anakin and the clones killed, weren't really like this tho. Remember, the Jedi council led the order and was made up of like 12 members. Barely any of them remained at the temple during Operation Knightfall
"You've already made your decision, haven't you? THIS MEETING IS JUST A FORMALITY!" You can legit hear the sense of betrayal that Anakin felt at the Jedi Council. They don't even give a damn about Ahsoka's story, or the fact that they were actually going to allow an innocent girl, a loyal and true Jedi, to be convicted of treason. They just wanted to maintain some image for the public. Honestly, if it were me, I would have been utterly disgusted by their hypocrisy and left too.
I literally don’t see how Ahsoka didn’t break down crying at this point. Not only did she go through so much to try to prove her innocence, not only did she helplessly watch as Letta Turmand died in front of her, not only was the council refusing to look at all the evidence with unbiased eyes but on top of ALL of it, she’s being kicked out of the only place she’s ever been able to call home, the place where all of her mentors and friends and “family” were, the place where she grew up. She knows the council has turned their back on her, she knows that the entire temple probably thought the same thing as the council until it was proven otherwise, she knows that her only hope is Ani and maybe Padme if she’s able to convince the courts of her innocence. The fact that she’s able to remain so composed even though she feels utterly distraught is something I will forever admire. Her entire world is crumbling yet she doesn’t shed a tear, she lets herself feel what she needs to feel but she also keeps her head up and faces the next stage of “justice” with grace and poise (Also, I hate how Mace says Ahsoka’s last name. It’s pronounced “taw-no” not “tah-no”)

That movie was dead wrong about pretty much everything. It has the audacity to say this when the Jedi were literally the one standing in the way of the Sith ruling the galaxy and defeating the Empire. Who stopped the Trade Federation invasion? The Jedi Who saved Padme's life? The Jedi. Who stood in the way of the Sith immediately taking over the galaxy? The Jedi. Who defeated Count Dooku? The Jedi. Who defeated Anakin Skywalker, forever crippling him and preventing him for reaching his full, unstoppable potential? The Jedi. Who rescued the princess? The Jedi Who blew up the Death Star? The Jedi (Luke used the Force) Who saved Han Soll from Jabba? The Jedi. Who redeemed Darth Vader? The Jedi. Who killed the Emperor? The Jedi (Luke brought back Anakin who defeated Sidious) Who ultimately defeated the Empire and fretted the Galaxy? THE JEDI. So say that "legacy of the Jedi is failure, hypocrisy, hubris” is a *bold face lie.* It ignores everything that happened in the original 6 Episodes of Star Wars and anyone who believes that quote either hasn't seen any of the movies or doesn't care to remember what actually happened in them.
@@Obi-Wan_Kenobiyou clearly didn't understand the movie. At the end of TLJ, Luke himself says that he will not be the last Jedi. When Luke said that, that's when he was disappointed in everything, but then he realized the reality. Of how wrong he was. When Yoda tells him that failure is the best teacher, he not only reminds us of Luke, but of the order too. The order made mistakes, it's obvious. This scene is proof of that. Therefore, in the end Luke realizes that the Jedi must not finish, but learn from their mistakes and not make them again. I understand that you are not going to like the movie, but perhaps understanding the message really in what Luke said (who later the same movie proves that he was wrong) can perhaps make you see it from another angle. Although for me, all this great message is totally put aside in episode ix

Like Ahsoka in this case, she ran away from prison which just basically shows that she was indeed responsible and guilty and doesn't help her at all in this situation. The evidence levied against her just increased during and after her escape; she was seen with dead troopers sliced with a weapon she held, she was seen with a known criminal and Separatist assassin Asajj Ventress and of course was found at the site where the explosives were used to bomb the temple. The Jedi Council had no choice but to expel her, otherwise the people and Senate would've had a legitimate cause to further insult the Jedi because in their view "They are harboring a criminal just because she is a Jedi," or "They think they're above the law!"

This is the exact moment she realize the jedi order was a bunch of bullshit and that there was no point of going back. No wonder she ended up leaving and becoming a grey Jedi
What really gave her that final push was when Mace Windu said "This was actually your great trial". THAT was when she realized that despite your Anakin's, Obi-Wan's, and Plo Koon', most of the Jedi are selfish and only care about saving face
"I've come to realize what many people in the Republic have come to realize, that the Jedi are the ones responsible for this war. That we've so lost our way that we have become villains in this conflict, that we are the ones that should be put on trial, all of us! And my attack on the Temple was an attack on what the Jedi have become: an army fighting for the dark side, fallen from the Light that we once held so dear. This Republic is failing! It's only a matter of time." Hearing this and what Ahsoka went though was what made her realize the Jedi were more about politics then following the Will of the Force. "Barriss Offee was wrong about a lot of things. She let her anger cloud her judgement and she tried to justify her actions without considering their wider effects. She was afraid of the war and she didn't trust people she should've listened to. But she had a point about the Republic and the Jedi. There was something wrong with them, and we were too locked into our traditions to see what it was. Barriss should've done something else. She shouldn't have killed anyone, and she definitely shouldn't have framed me for it, but if we'd listened to her-really listened-we might have been able to stop Palpatine before he took power." It was because of these mistakes on the Council that led to it's fall and the Sith's rise to power. If only Qui-Gon Jinn was alive, he could've stopped it from happening.
This was one of the best but most painful scenes in The Clone Wars. Shows how blind the Jedi Council was. One of the defining moments in Ahsoka's story arc.
Anakin: This meeting is just a formality! I like that they focused on Obi-Wan after Anakin saying this, like he knows that his apprentice is right to gets angry.
You lost the Chosen One when you left the Padawan... The Sith opened there waiting arms to him, and you let it happen as soon as you made that one decision. The Jedi have fallen, Anakin has fallen, because of you.
This arc always comes to my mind when Luke tells Rey how the Jedi Order incompetently stumbled themselves into their own downfall from the very apex and height of their power. The order was sloppy as fuck and was blind on complacency and self-righteousness, it makes it fitting that they got blindsighted by somebody who had been plotting for well over a decade behind the scenes.
Rian Johnson was in fact telling us with his movie: The Jedi are not as we all thought they were, and don’t have to be a Jedi or sith to wield a lightsaber or To use the power of the force. He was trying to say “you can be who ever you want to be.”
The way Ahsoka was unfairly punished made me feel a ton of her pain when I was fired from the part time job I needed for school and loved so dearly 😔 I felt just like Ahsoka, that I was stabbed in the back despite all the hard work and effort I put into my job.
"It is the council's opinion" He said that right after Anakin called the whole thing a formality. The Jedi barley gave it thought and catered to the senate.
Every time I rewatch this show, I have a really hard time continuing watching when they make it to the temple bombing arc. The way the council treats her in this scene after all she’s been through for the order irks me to my core
They basically handed her over to Tarkin for the Death penalty surely they knew that would most likely have happened, no wonder Anakin was so easy to turn after stuff like this happened, he slowly lost his faith in the Jedi already then they hand his student over to the courts and death
No wonder Anakin left the Jedi order.First,Ahoska,His most trusted person,Padawan and pretty much a daughter to him,Then not being granted the rank of master on the council.I don’t blame him,I would’ve left too and killed some younglings.
Later, anakin shows up with the 501st legion like "hell yeh! Pay back time!" Though I'm against the darkside it felt good when Anakin raid the jedi temple 😂 is symbolized the pain of everything he lost to the jedi council. Trust, loyalty, Ahsoka, etc.
After having watched the episodes about Ashoka on the run and so on, i really do understand why Anakin turned. From my point of view the jedi are evil. Yoda even admitted that the jedi we're consumed by the dark side and their senses we're clouded. He said that in star wars rebels

+Ben S As if that wasn't already occurring.
+Patrick Donnolley Of course it is occurring; but it can always worsen, and they really didn't need that. Hence their disastrous decision.
+Jen 15 that whole sensing thing is bullshit honestly

Seeing Anakin use the dark side of the force so violently and strongly immediately after this scene where Ashoka is expelled from the Jedi order basically shows he could no longer trust the Jedi order fully and started to deeply resent them, which Palpatine was already convincing Anakin of before this happen.

And they wonder why so many Jedi join the Sith

“The true legacy of the Jedi is failure, hypocrisy, hubris”
TLJ
That movie was dead wrong about pretty much everything. It has the audacity to say this when the Jedi were literally the one standing in the way of the Sith ruling the galaxy and defeating the Empire.
Who stopped the Trade Federation invasion?
The Jedi
Who saved Padme's life?
The Jedi.
Who stood in the way of the Sith immediately taking over the galaxy?
The Jedi.
Who defeated Count Dooku?
The Jedi.
Who defeated Anakin Skywalker, forever crippling him and preventing him for reaching his full, unstoppable potential?

Who blew up the Death Star?
The Jedi (Luke used the Force)
Who saved Han Soll from Jabba?
The Jedi.
Who redeemed Darth Vader?

Who killed the Emperor?
The Jedi (Luke brought back Anakin who defeated Sidious)
Who ultimately defeated the Empire and fretted the Galaxy?

She shouldn't have killed anyone, and she definitely shouldn't have framed me for it, but if we'd listened to her-really listened-we might have been able to stop Palpatine before he took power."
It was because of these mistakes on the Council that led to it's fall and the Sith's rise to power. If only Qui-Gon Jinn was alive, he could've stopped it from happening.

+mm101ism are you sure you were working hard enough in your job? You know you wont get fired for no reason.
Yes you do, "personell cut" in short, where the owners cant afford the workforce and have to fire some.
This has nothing to do with the employee.
+tyson mccorkle What does that have to do with anything?
"It is the council's opinion"
He said that right after Anakin called the whole thing a formality. The Jedi barley gave it thought and catered to the senate.
Every time I rewatch this show, I have a really hard time continuing watching when they make it to the temple bombing arc. The way the council treats her in this scene after all she’s been through for the order irks me to my core
“But I’m NOT guilty!!”
That was probably the saddest Ashoka line..
They basically handed her over to Tarkin for the Death penalty surely they knew that would most likely have happened, no wonder Anakin was so easy to turn after stuff like this happened, he slowly lost his faith in the Jedi already then they hand his student over to the courts and death
If Obi wan's master was still alive he would be very disappointed in him right now smh
Obi Wan was a kiss ass. Why do you think he made a point to bitch Anakin out whenever he dared to question the council and their shady decisions?
He was probably one of the people in disagreement he probaly would be proud that obi wan didn't go with the concuil.
@@c456ex9 He would also be disappointed with how political the council has gotten
@@thepunisher8676 duh
@@c456ex9he still did nothing to help someone he knew was innocent. Qui-Gon would absolutely be disappointed.
i love how those guards step into Anakin´s way ...like they could possibly have any chance against him if he was actually about to attack :D ...
0:13 the last time Anakin calls Ahsoka "Snips"
He did in the Ahsoka show in her dream if that counts.
i loved how anakin and ashoka's relationship was
Does it seem weird that the Jedi Council have a super-spooky special room for this sort of thing?
Ahsoka being my favorite character amplifies my frustration
0:59 The only time Yoda talked normally
2:16 look how heart broken obi wan looks
No wonder Anakin left the Jedi order.First,Ahoska,His most trusted person,Padawan and pretty much a daughter to him,Then not being granted the rank of master on the council.I don’t blame him,I would’ve left too and killed some younglings.
"I have failed you Anakin, I have failed you"... they all did
2:46 I bet that guard is the Grand Inquisitor.
The grand inquisitor was one of the Jedi temple guards in watching the trial.
This truly shatters the faith in Jedi Order
I love how Anakin is always yelling at the council. He dosent give a shit and it is really good foreshadowing
“You’ve already made your decision haven’t you? THIS MEETING IS JUST A FORMALITY!”
As far as Palpatine was concerned, this was probably the point his plan to corrupt Anakin went from likely to a guarantee.
They didn't help Anakin with his visions, making secrets, don't trust him...
The Jedi created Vader more than Palpatine
Mace: You weren’t here when the temple was bombed. Investigate free of assumptions.
2 episodes later: Guilty
It was at this moment Anakin’s betrayal of the Jedi became inevitable. All that was left was wondering how long was left on the clock
After having watched the episodes about Ashoka on the run and so on, i really do understand why Anakin turned. From my point of view the jedi are evil. Yoda even admitted that the jedi we're consumed by the dark side and their senses we're clouded. He said that in star wars rebels
Don't forget even if they killed palpatine jedi civil war would still happened
the guards acting like they can actually stop him lmao
They are Jedi also but had a choice to either become a Jedi knight or Jedi temple guard and some would say that’s harder cuz you need to mask all emotion you ever feel
Imagine in this room after a few years . Only Vader and Grand Inquisitors standing and GI asking Vader : everything alright ? - Yes
Do you remember the day the Jedi expelled the Padwan Tano ?
- Yes Lord Vader . In fact I was here during her trial . Just like the others I was bliend but then after Barris speech I learned that the Jedi needed to fall and after that day I promised myself that the when they do i would be there to burn it all from the ground ... You know when you attacked the Jedi Temple , it was I who killed all the guards for your battalion to get entry and finish the Job.
- I Gues that we did the right thing . The Jedi deserved this and they got it ... it was not only me who thought soo , many had seen it but few accepted it .
2:43 You can really see the pain in anakins eyes
I like how Plo Koon wants to know more about Ahsoka's situation.
Then Mace Windu is like "Cut to the chase".
Yeah he was like but why did you ask Ventress for help you know she a not a good person I am just confused he was like
Congratulations, Jedi Council. You've just given Anakin even more of a reason to fuck up your entire establishment!
"AHsoka tano you are being expelled from the order"
"I understand that the council made a decision, but given that it's a stupid ass decision i have neglected to ignore it", the clones, the fandom and everyone who doesn't believe in the lies of the Jedi
Honestly I didn't even notice Shaak Ti was present in this scene when I watched the episode the first time.
Where is Kit fisto I wish we saw him
The Empire may have been evil, but so was the Republic and the Jedi Order. Too bad more of them didn't get picked off earlier, but I guess the shock and horror surrounding Order 66 was just desserts enough.
see why kylo ren wants to let all them die
I wouldn’t say the Republic and Jedi were evil, just misguided
2:34 good luck with that, guards lol.
Also what were they supposed to be expecting? Him as a lone Jedi to attack the whole council at once?
After watching the recent trailer for Old Republic, a certain quote comes to mind.
“How many were left behind so that the Jedi could play God?”
They seem to glance over that she was on a completely different planet on a mission when the bombing happened
Yup
It's not like someone could arrange for the bombing to occur while off world.
@@sambridgers9543 Not to mention, they NEVER asked that why she "did" it. Nope. They just went: "Nah, lets just convict her guilty right off the hook, since we "saw her" in possession of the nanodroids. -.- Are they for real?
