Everyone, stop complaining. i just want to say to all the people saying "why don't they have french accents" or "oh, another revenge story" you can just get out. why can't you people be satisfied? you can never enjoy anything because all you do is look for negatives! this game has amazing graphics, an amazing looking story, incredible gameplay, and all you seem to care about is their accents? you people are sad, you just moan and moan and are never satisfied. just enjoy the damn game.
Well said. I don't complain about it, because it's such a minor thing, but it still would have been nice with accents. Not something I would count as a negative though. I guess it kinda makes sense, in the present day, the animus has been upgraded to no longer even need accents of the country, but accents of the country that the person using the animus is living in..
Funny how everyone's bitching about the English, yet somehow Altair not speaking Arabic or Etzio not speaking italian the whole time was A-OK.......People, just enjoy the amazing game.
Stefan Koole I know, and it's alpha gameplay footage, but like I said, I hope it isn't going to be like the controls in AC2, they're the worst. I kept looking up what was which button, Ezio kept randomly falling off stuff and when I tried chasing the thieves or enemies, I wasn't able to catch them because I kept getting stuck and falling. [*Extra information*] If you're wondering, in AC2, I stopped at about sequence 11, where you had to kill 9 generals, it was waaaaaay to difficult and I kept cursing, so I started playing ACB. Before I started playing AC2 I played a bit of ACR, I just started ACB and it's basicly a combination of AC2 and ACR. I really hope I'm not going to encounter the same problem in ACB/R like I did in AC2, it's gonna wreck the whole feeling of a good and fun storyline. *Anyway, to summarize everything, AC2 was a great story but the controls are fucked up...*
you know you should never judge a book (or game) by it's cover, but man I would be lying if I said I haven't got the same idea. This game looks amaaazing.
Stefan Koole They don't make these in just a year you know. Unity has been in development since 2010. Each game has had a 3-4 year development, excluding Revelations, which only had a 1 year development.
faith in the story of my favourite fictional series restored. for so long, since AC revelations the story of the creed has taken a nose dive. this gives me hope. the mere fact that they'd make a "story trailer" must mean they've got some cool stuff up their sleeve. IGN's gonna come along and say it's a boring "spaghetti bowl of a plot", giving props to AC3 and 4 for abandoning it. well i say it is that spaghetti bowl that made me fall in love with the series. because IGN's staff is too dumb to wrap the spaghetti around their forks, they think they were good instalments into the series. but now it looks like they can redeem themselves. they've sold this game to me. i have hope. still never understood why abstergo would take animus take to the public. it's 1st Civ tech. but anyway I'm exited for a decent and deep story. the previous games were more like the american revolution or golden age of pirates simulations (funny enough they actually did do that). i hope we don't have a French revolution simulation but rather an Assassin's Creed game simply SET in the French revolution. AC1 wasn't really about the crusades it was about the assassins and the Templars. this looks like we're actually going to get The Creed back. THE CREED NIGGA!! though i wonder why French people have English accents... is it the animus making it clear for the users to understand?
Oh yeah bout the english accents, they decided for consistency and thought having people speaking english with a french accent wouldn't make sense for the animus to do. And the small french sentences are like 'animus slip-ups'. BUT, any way you justify it, or criticize it, it's just an artistic CHOICE, it for the good of the game, so all this hate has no ground to stand on. That's me done.
Im actually glad they have gone back to the idea of a city rather frontier or jungles and sea etc. AC2 was by far the best AC (in my opinion). The revenge story always connects me to the protagonist more than just a story. I loved Ezio and hopefully I will love Arno.
Impressive trailer! The more I learn about this game the more I find myself feeling the true excitement I felt for earlier AC games. Although, not sure about Elise's voice - and it is a little bit of a shame we don't get french accents, but then again, I've played Altair so much it probably won't ruin the game for me.
My first AC game that I managed to play & finish. Tried with AC1&2, got ridiculously bored and had to put them down on the library of games I call Dust-Collector's as that is all the purpose they serve. Really liked the customisation variation within the game and the story was very theatrical that felt rich with characters, didn't focus that much on the historical event, rather focused on the Templar's & Assassin's ordeals. And it had strong romance elements which is suitable as it is set in the City of Love after all. Weak in terms of combat but the roster gear makes up for that and the stealth mechanics are fantastic. The very first AC I finished and enjoyed, wish the online was much more efficient though.
Thank goodness everyone in eighteenth century France spoke fluent Queen's English with thick Shakespearean accents! I mean, God _forbid_ I should have to read any subtitles or some such rot!
Please stop whining about this solely ARTISTIC decision. And if you would like to play with them speaking french, I do believe you have the option to do that.
Milano606 C'mon, Walt, you must see that their motivation was not "artistic". I mean, you _are_ the danger. If they cared about artistry, surely they would not have compromised the believability of their gameworld. There is no reason a mostly _French_ developer should have elected to use English actors except to avoid alienating a large portion of their young audience, who ostensibly would find all those curled Rs amusing. While not ideal, the Ezio games featured characters speaking English with Italian accents; it seemed to me a fair trade-off. French language is an option, yes, but the lip-syncing is generally awful.
***** The developers argue that french accents would be less realistic, because why would the animus translate french to English but still have a french accent? The purpose of the machine would merely be to make it as understandable as possible, so that would be weird. Sorry to knock on your door hehe
Thank you for the trailer! You know guys, assassin's creed has been always a franchise that I loved. It illustrated the corruption of capitals along with teaching you important historic events such as the renaissance. It also gives out an idea of what the Masonic nature could be. It's a wonderful game series and my personal favourite is the second one mainly because shit really goes down in that game, a lot of conspiracy and ezio is just a total badass. And it kinda seems they try to do the same with unity. I'm really excited about this one and I think Ubisoft did a great job.
People complaining about the accents and the language clearly haven't played the series all the way through! If we remember back to the first assassins creed when Desmond wakes up inside the animus wondering where the hell he is, everyone around him is speaking in their native tongue and in their native accents. He doesn't understand what is going on around him and can't understand a word being said. In the back ground you hear them talking as they tweak the animus so it translates and tweaks the voices of people around him so that Desmond can better understand what people are saying. Now we can only presume that this has been the same through all variants of the Animus. Remember people! we are not actually playing a direct game here, We are playing the perspective of a modern day American accessing his ancestral memories through the animus. So we can imagine that the animus is translating and making so that people are easier to understand for the users perspective. It's a better reason as to why they aren't speaking French and saves us from having to read subtitles. It also makes sense as to why people are speaking with a more clear and precise accent.
This is better than most movie trailers I've seen recently lol. On another note, this looks like its gonna be epic and I hope Ubi doesn't eat up Arno's story like they did with Edward's. It would be nice to be grounded in one awesome character again for a couple of games and this setting is too perfect.
For everyone complaining about the accents, look at what multiple movies did. Like the latest Three Musketeers, which is in France as well but everyone in that movie has english accents. It is simply known to be more appealing to the audience. Also, MANY other games act out of Revenge for a plot. If you pay attention to Arno's backstory, you know he joins the assassins for the sake of Redemption, not Revenge.
Is this trailer rendered in engine or? Also where can i get this early? (With and crazy looking expression) also i know its not out yet and that i will never get this early. (But if i can, please give it to me on PC)
Assassin's Creed collectively as a franchise is well thought through. Assassin's Creed one linked with Bloodlines. Assassin's Creed 2, brotherhood and revelations were very well linked together. They were all using the same engine. Assassin's Creed 3, Liberation, assassin's creed 4, Aveline, freedom cry and finally rogue are all linked together story wise. The engine was the newer anvil next which was used in all games. Assassin's Creed Unity will likely have a newer story and have a following of other games using the same engine. Individual playing a single game may not make sense but playing them all in order will. Been playing it since I saw an ad for it in 2007. I know what I am talking about.
He look like... maybe it was him, because that old man in prison told Arno: "Your father was an assassin Arno" .. but, Shay (main character in Rogue) was an assassin, but then he was an assassin hunter who almost destroyed brotherhood in colonies & personally I think Achilles Davenport stops or kill Shay, otherwise, he would not be alive in AC3. I thought that too, I have stopped video to see his body at floor & he looks like him, but I don´t think it was him. I don´t know, everything is possible. There will be Connor in Unity also - at age of 33. He is only 12 years older that Arno. Interesting no? And the end of Rogue have something to do with Unity start. There will be connection between this games.
Danny Rashid-Dara Yeah, lol :D ... I play all AC games so far, so yes, I am a big fan of this series - WoT is the best online free to play multiplayer game ever (in my opinion) so as you can see, and as you mentioned, I play only COOL games :D - but AC is TOP on the list !! ;)
first ever game cinematic where they don't use special movie like effect to get a "mind blowing graphics", they really used shoot from the actual game that's what i like about he honesty of ubisoft
ChemX32 but AC2 was, ACBrotherhood big part as well and AC3 was too. I would prefer a guy like Altair. Born in the creed, and living by the creed and it's cause. Not joining the creed in his young days because of revenge.
Arno's motivation doesn't seem to be revenge but redemption Ezio was angered at his family death and continued his fathers work to avenge him Arno it seems from the trailers did something huge hes not proud of and this assassin is saying honor your fathers memory by making something of yourself so Arno isn't wanting revenge so much as trying to do good Elisa on the other hand is out for blood and revenge hence her comment in the trailer" fine if you dont have the stomach for revenge then i will. and connor was also trying to protect his village not just avenging his mother he was fighting for his people
The Desmond's story turned to crap because Ubisoft decided not to end the series and make it a yearly release. AC III had a terrible ending. With AC IV I didn't give a shit anymore about the present. but enjoyed the pirate's life
Danox94 The only thing i liked in the present "story" was the additional information about the AC universe. And i also want to know what Shaun and Rebecca will do with that info they got from Abstergo.
we dont know that we only heard that other guy say his dad was a assassin and he should honor him when they first started talking about Elisa they said Arno parents did years ago and he was raised by her parents and felt responsible for her fathers death Elisa been the one saying revenge
Revenge is always good. It worked for Ezio, Haytham Kenway seemed to enjoy it, Connor couldn't fulfill his, Arno wants it but apparently he has some second thoughts about it. The lack of French accents is weird, but once you realize half of them voice actors would rape your ears with fake accents that don't stray too far from Toby Tobuscus Turner's Frenchussian accent, you might get over it in no time. And by the way, if I omit all swearwords I spoke while watching this trailer, I could say the epicosity left me speechless.
Dude, it looks like. You saw the Arno - Master Assassin trailer ? There he save that Templar girl - his love. I think Arno will have some argues with him, because she is a templar, and in Unity we can see the return to the Faith like in AC1 with Altair. It will be just a little misunderstanding between them. Nothing that can´t be settled :D We will see, maybe I´m not right - Ubisoft surly have more secrest of this story still hiden & everything is possible :D Just, keep waiting, be excited, buy it (or spoiler it on YT) :D & you will see :D
Wow this isn't a game...This is a miracle that was sent for us from Ubisoft Ubisoft said that it worked about 3 years for this game and it deserve it in the end.. Guys we are all waiting this moment when the game will be released in 28th of October, just be ready !!!
To be honest, I think this looks like the best story they have ever done, I mean, Ezio's story is awesome, but there's no trailer like this ine, that makes you just wanna play the game right now. Thanks for all of this Ubisoft, AC is one of the best game franchise everin history
I am so excited for this game! But I have to say that I wasn't really concerned about the accents but seeing this trailer I was very aware the entire time that the accents didn't fit as they have in the previous games. I really hope it doesn't pull me out of the game when I play it.
Why can't you people just appreciate what Ubisoft has offered us, with four years of hard work, you're just going to screw things up with these negative comments? Whether you moan about the graphics being downgraded, calling Ubisoft shit, or calling this trailer shit, and you cancel your preorders. Stop trying to act smart, and actually grow up, people in these poor countries are starving and worry about life and death, and you people (some) are paranoid about the fucking graphics, and have console wars. When will you stupid people ever stop? Would you have time to come and spread nonsense about this wonderful, amazing games, with such a great story line. If YOU'RE just giving "opinions", don't spread it in an absolute negative way. This just shows some people are immature, grow up, jeez.
Everyone, stop complaining. i just want to say to all the people saying "why don't they have french accents" or "oh, another revenge story" you can just get out. why can't you people be satisfied? you can never enjoy anything because all you do is look for negatives! this game has amazing graphics, an amazing looking story, incredible gameplay, and all you seem to care about is their accents? you people are sad, you just moan and moan and are never satisfied. just enjoy the damn game.
yhhhhhhhhhh boiiiiiiii finally someone with a brain
Raj Singh
finally someone who agrees with me!

TheFlynn32 Wait u sub to lazer right thats y u have a brain lol :D
He clearly stated that he was fighting for redemption and not revenge so who ever is complaining should pay attention first...
Funny how everyone's bitching about the English, yet somehow Altair not speaking Arabic or Etzio not speaking italian the whole time was A-OK.......People, just enjoy the amazing game.
The story seems like Ezio's Story. :) Interesting. Can't wait to play this with my friends.
yeah very similar story because AC3 and 4 sucks balls
***** add me lets play? :D
***** AC2 the best in series thats why
Indeed it is
add me to your friend list
For anyone wondering, the song is ''Lords of Lankhmar'' by Audiomachine
Looking at possibly the best Assassin's Creed game to date! So excited!
I am close to saying AC Unity > AC II
At least the controls and the movements of the character won't be as bad as II, I hope, I really really really hope...
Revenge and Redemption ain't the same thing so no it is not like AC 2...
Stefan Koole I know, and it's alpha gameplay footage, but like I said, I hope it isn't going to be like the controls in AC2, they're the worst.

That's me done.
I think I'm the only one who'll say this, but I'll say it anyway: Assassin's Creed Unity is my favorite game
My also
Count me in too
I like how "I have to do this myself" is followed by "Unite". Especially when the entire thing is about 1 guy
One of the best Story trailers in the series
In spite of the disappointing graphical downgrade to 900p/30fps, I can't deny that this story trailer is beautifully crafted, bravo!
Can't wait to get my hands on this amazing looking game I truly hope that it lives up to the standards and expectations that we are holding it to!
This is glorious, seriously they need to make a movie because this is exactly like a movie trailer
God this gave me chills throughout the whole video
Im actually glad they have gone back to the idea of a city rather frontier or jungles and sea etc. AC2 was by far the best AC (in my opinion). The revenge story always connects me to the protagonist more than just a story. I loved Ezio and hopefully I will love Arno.
This brings back memories from AC 2
Assassin’s Creed Unity Story Trailer [UK]
got goose bump everytime i watch, good ones...
Will there be a good non-animus story though?
Impressive trailer! The more I learn about this game the more I find myself feeling the true excitement I felt for earlier AC games. Although, not sure about Elise's voice - and it is a little bit of a shame we don't get french accents, but then again, I've played Altair so much it probably won't ruin the game for me.
This is the best trailer of AC: U. Thank You!

"I have to do this myself."
-Trailers before show co-op.
WUT.
"I have to do this myself" then why is there co op??
Thank goodness everyone in eighteenth century France spoke fluent Queen's English with thick Shakespearean accents! I mean, God _forbid_ I should have to read any subtitles or some such rot!

Milano606 Why wouldn't it translate French to English with an accent? It did it for the Italians.
***** Yeah. Well, other team, other choices. You could argue that was the assassins' animus, but I don't thinks that's really relevant.
1080p/60fps Only PC!
Thank you for the trailer!
You know guys, assassin's creed has been always a franchise that I loved. It illustrated the corruption of capitals along with teaching you important historic events such as the renaissance. they need to put a story Trailer for Rogue as well
rogue looks like ac3 and ac4 which is crap
WOW. JUST WOW. I HAVE NO WORDS

We've reached a point where Video game trailers are even better than Movie trailers!
Best voice acting in last 5 years!
Astonishing!
The trailer's so ramped up!
okay so...the story trailer TOTALLY sold it to me, wasn't going to but it before
Best.. Fucking..Assasin's Creed Trailerr YET! OMG.
Played AC2, ACB, ACR, AC3, AC4:Black Flag, and i am looking forward to this!!! Can't wait!
This makes me miss the AC recruits system....I would love to stand in that room along the Assassins and see my Recruit become a assassin.
0:54
In this shot Arno looks so much like Ezio!
This isn't a game about revenge.. This is a game about redemption.
1:33 the face of that guy is so next gen! yeeeearh baby
Oh my god. this is epic! Finally an Assassin's Creed game with a great story!
Ubi know how to make them trailers
I already expected that AC would pull out that stunt of having the Assassins have to do with Robespierre's death.
Is this trailer rendered in engine or? Also where can i get this early? (With and crazy looking expression) also i know its not out yet and that i will never get this early. (But if i can, please give it to me on PC)

Tommy Nather nice to see a fellow WoT enthusiast who plays AC :D
Danny Rashid-Dara Yeah, lol :D ... I play all AC games so far, so yes, I am a big fan of this series - WoT is the best online free to play multiplayer game ever (in my opinion) so as you can see, and as you mentioned, I play only COOL games :D - but AC is TOP on the list !! ;)
Tommy Nather Do you play on NA or EU server?
Tommy Nather It is like when obi wan tells luke that his father was a jedi and was killed by vader
so recently i found out that AC UNITY wont be running on 1080p and 60fps.
instead on 30fps
crying.
but still, getting this amazing game
What is the music? The music definitely gives the trailer an appealing edge.
^ This so fricking much
Audiomachine - Lords Of Lankhmar
first ever game cinematic where they don't use special movie like effect to get a "mind blowing graphics", they really used shoot from the actual game that's what i like about he honesty of ubisoft
yay another "avenge your family/father" story...
AC1 was not avenge your family
AC4 wasn't
Neither was later part of Ezio trilogy
ChemX32 In AC3 Connor revenged his mother and in AC2 Ezio revenged his family
ChemX32 but AC2 was, ACBrotherhood big part as well and AC3 was too. I would prefer a guy like Altair. Born in the creed, and living by the creed and it's cause. Not joining the creed in his young days because of revenge.

Danox94 The only thing i liked in the present "story" was the additional information about the AC universe. And i also want to know what Shaun and Rebecca will do with that info they got from Abstergo.
Fuck yo couch
Goosebumps...
Regardless of the quality of the game, Ubi sure knows how to make a trailer interesting!
"I have to do this myself" - AC Unity.......Something doesn`t add up!
Also...Ezio V2.0 anyone? :)
nope
ezio= revenge for his fathers death
Arno=redemption and fighting for love
s1ientdeath well, arno seeks revenge too for his father's death...
we dont know that we only heard that other guy say his dad was a assassin and he should honor him when they first started talking about Elisa they said Arno parents did years ago and he was raised by her parents and felt responsible for her fathers death Elisa been the one saying revenge
but if you look better Arno looks almost like Ezio in AC2 !
doesnt make them same ezio and Desmond and Altair all were similar looking and very different characters
Just... AMAZING!!
The game is just getting more awesome
Why you guys always hating? Cant wait to get on unity!
November 11th get yo as here right now this game gets even better every video can't wait well done ubisoft
Arvo: "I have to do this by myself"
Me: so cloning yourself means you did everything by yourself?
Revenge is always good. It worked for Ezio, Haytham Kenway seemed to enjoy it, Connor couldn't fulfill his, Arno wants it but apparently he has some second thoughts about it. And by the way, if I omit all swearwords I spoke while watching this trailer, I could say the epicosity left me speechless.
does the movie based on Unity or start with the first 'episode' of AC? or new story?
Can't wait for this
when is ac gonna be set in japan
Well there were Spaniards in Black Flag, but i dont know
Hopefully next year
Bruce Wayne shut up... Iiiiidiiiioooott
Never, because we have had enough with the ninja bullshit.
***** No because it wouldn't be a fun place to climb etc etc
I'm truly at a loss for words. What a trailer. Well done ubisoft, well fucking done.
You need to have split-screen for the campaign so that 2 people can play the campaign together now that is something that will sell
I already have it pre ordered, I can't wait
THAT WAS SO FREAKIN AWESOME!
in Unity both Napoleon and Arno are young, maybe the next Assassin's Creed will be set during the Napoleon wars
I am so glad i pre-ordered this.
Why does it look like a Movie Trailer? xD
Because Michael Bay.
Aliens
because, EPICNESS!
Can't wait for next month!
2:00, Arno fighting the assassin who trained him. I KNEW he would choose the templars, dammit
Nothing that can´t be settled :D We will see, maybe I´m not right - Ubisoft surly have more secrest of this story still hiden & everything is possible :D Just, keep waiting, be excited, buy it (or spoiler it on YT) :D & you will see :D
mylze mangubat What game?
Seems I had them pegged wrong with this one. Dayum. Welcome back Assassin's.
OMG!!! It's like a fucking movie! Speaking of movies... Michael Fassbender... I trust you man.
Sooooooo awwwweeeeeessoooommmmeeee. Btw isnt the guy who said Arnos father was an assassin the guy who voiced Blackbeard in AC4???
Yes, exactly !! I heard it too & it must be him !
Yesssss
aren´t arnos brothers (assassin friends or so) in the story or do they only appear in co op?
are they lowered the graphics again?
Wow!! I can't wait!!!!! Awesome graphics, seems to have a good story and voice acting looks like it's on point!
Seriously can't wait for this
It kinda reminds me to The count of monte cristo, which is awesome to me, but I'm still at doubt if this can be better than Ezio.
Wow this isn't a game...This is a miracle that was sent for us from Ubisoft
Ubisoft said that it worked about 3 years for this game and it deserve it in the end..
Guys we are all waiting this moment when the game will be released in 28th of October, just be ready !!!
I'm so pumped up with this.. ✅👌 #ACUnity
I’m ready to join the Eagle Path.
at least Ezio had this italian accent and i learn little bit italian ''Requiescat in Pace"
Ooh the Marquis de Sade? That'll be interesting!
EPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIC!
Elise is beautiful!!!...damn, i can't wait to play AC Unity
FUCK YEAH, I've been waiting for this trailer. Cannot wait to get my hands on this.
The last song is Ice of Phoenix?
To be honest, I think this looks like the best story they have ever done, I mean, Ezio's story is awesome, but there's no trailer like this ine, that makes you just wanna play the game right now. Thanks for all of this Ubisoft, AC is one of the best game franchise everin history
One word: epic
Hello, I would like to ask you when will the assassin's creed unity
Thank you ! Finally someone with some sense !
I shall prepare my notebook for the upcoming awesomness yeheeeeyyy
The story looks awesome can't wait
i can't wait for the game
I'M SO FUCKING READY
This. Looks. Freaking. Awesome.
fuck the haters! i've been in love with Assassin's Creed since 2007
