Huge JACK Crevalle on the Okaloosa Island Pier !

- We took an afternoon fishing trip out to the Okaloosa Island Fishing Pier in Ft Walton Beach, Florida in search of a Tarpon! We got hit by some crazy weather and saw some huge Jack Crevalle action. They were caught on topwater. It was a really fun afternoon of saltwater fishing.

I was stationed at Eglin AFB for a year while I underwent EOD training, and the fishing was the saving grace of my morale and happiness. I couldn't even tell you how many hours were spent chasing Reds in the Bay and kings of the Okaloosa and Navarre piers. I wish I could go back

I’ll be back down in ft Walton at the last week of July. Last year did suck balls. Got some killer pics of the jacks we caught that week.
Crazy. I couldn't do it. Looks like quite the experience. I lived in Montana for 16 years where if you could even see another fisherman, then you were too close. In SW Florida now, recently took up kayak fishing, thanks for all of the awesome videos!
I was planning to go to the pier Monday through Friday this week but rescheduled for next week dang!

My kids want to go fishing and someone had suggested taking them to the Jacksonville Pier. After this, I am not sure that's a good idea. At least not without some armor and combat training for them. :)
So the prices at the pier for $8 for fishing, that includes the Fishing license for that day? Even for out of State people?
If you are planning on fishing the Beach & Jetties as well, would it be better to just get an Annual License?

Just knowing this your first time on a fishing pier...there is a learning curve...knowing where and where not to stand or walk..keep your head on a swivel..NEVER NEVER POINT..
I’ve seen the knife thread. I even seen a pistol which they claim for protection at night.
The Navarre pier is bigger and there is more room but still crazy. I stick to the kayak and the sound!

I see a lot of reels in use here that look very reminiscent of the old Mitchell 304; these are the round-bodied reels. What are they, exactly?
Were they catching them on gotcha baits? Or what were they using? I'm heading out there tomorrow.
Pier fishing is all different kind of sport..jack never point out ward over the water..when walking on the pier always look at the people fishing and watch when people casting..when i shore or pier fish its usually at night..

It has been pointed out already about the texting while driving but that is what probably caused the mash up you saw. Teenage pedestrians were killed by texting driver in our neighborhood recently. A real and avoidable tragedy for all.

That just looks crazy, I couldnt think of a worse way to fish! I cant believe you have to pay to fish or that you need a license!
I was fishing at that pier right by the beach because there were a ton of lady fish busting and me and like ten other guys kept crossing lines so I ended up giving a three pounder to one of the guys because I crossed his line
That's why I never fish at the end. lol 🤣

Ft. Walton beach pier is the worst. Mexico beach was the coolest. Everyone just chills out and fish. I’ll be in ft Walton for 4 days next week to fish. Probably not on the pier

with that many people is not even fun you may get hook in an eye or ear people there are fearless. 😂
