I think the confusion with Furletta is the accent on the bodyguards, they're saying "Miss Duchat", because Furletta does have a surname. But it would sound like Mister Chat, which again is more the accent, "Mistuh Chat"
Yeah I was gonna say roughly the same thing. Only thing I'm adding is that I think it's 'Ms. Du Chat', because that's butchered(?) French for 'of Cat'.

I have my own take on T.C. & friends backstories & how they got together.
*Top Cat used to live in the country side with his sister & grandmother, where the latter tells stories about the places she used to travel to with her late husband.
And T.C. made a promise that he'll make it big in the city to make his late grandfather proud.
*Benny is T.C.'s childhood friend (according to original cartoon, they met at Boy Scout camp) who hasn't traveled anywhere in his since he was a kitten, so T.C. invites him to come along with [T.C.] to New York City to shape [Benny] up for the rest of the world.
*Choo-Choo was born & raised at a train station (that's how he got his name) until it was demolished & moved to a Grand Central, where T.C. & Benny met him after he swindled a con man at cards (he learned about card games & tricks back when he used to travel on the trains).
*Fancy-Fancy was originally a pet of a rich high class family, but he ran away after finding out that he was scheduled for a "fixing" (the neighbors suspected Fancy to be the one who got their prize female Persian pregnant). T.C. & friends met him when they were searching for a bite to eat, and he taught them some tricks on how to get some grub using traditional cat techniques (big eyes, showing off fluffy bellies, making biscuits, and so on).
*Spook lived in an old abandoned apartment that had a coffee shop downstairs, where he used to play games & listen to music and poetry (the coffee shop was also a night club at one point). Because of his loyalty & big size (I re-imagined Spook being a Maine Coon), T.C. lets Spook join his gang as a promise when they make it big, Spook could have his own new coffee shop to run.
*Last but not least there's Brain, a Persian mix that is an escaped lab testing animal. Even though ironically he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, T.C. still keeps Brain around because he could squeeze through metal bars & picklocks.
When I saw my favourite movie Top Cat Begins having my other favourite movie Top Cat The Movie in the trash despite Top Cat The Movie being the finale and Top Cat Begins being an origin story I quoting Professor Qurriel From Harry Potter by Saying:
"What is this cartoon logic?!"
Besides the switch from 2D to 3D, the pacing is pretty awful as well. Despite being an origin story for the show, we don’t really get any real character development between the cats and everything is super rushed (especially when they move into the alley at the end). Only Top Cat and Benny get arcs, while Choo Choo, Fancy, Brain and Spook’s only purpose is existing. I really wish the other cats got arcs, too. However, this is way better than the previous movie and it could be worse.

I think the reason they presented him as a minor is bc he had a childlike voice in the Mexican/LatAm dub of the original series.

Also why is the kid on the right with bow have a machete!?!? I can understand the adults and old later (since we see the old lady later being soldier.) but why do the kids in this film act like murders?!?!?

It’s a shame. I watched this film when I was younger, so I kinda feel nostalgic for it and it’s sad when a film you liked in the past gets torn apart by others. Then again, I was quite stupid, back then, and didn’t acknowledge the many flaws that this movie has.
I honesty as excepting Hardcore Kid to accompanied you since you made him review that movie 8 years ago, It's fair you van still handle TC just fine. Though I'm still; curious Of HK himself might actually review this movie as well later down the line?

I loved Top Cat..but when he said updated for modern Audiences...i felt...not again...but it looks decent at best.

My sister had an episode of Top Cat on a Cartoon Crackups and I enjoyed it.
The original show was better, this whole movie sucks a$$, I hope this ain’t Top Cat’s canon origins.
